My two cents for what its worth is that your average mainstream gamer even if they are interested in the concept would be turned off by the graphics.

And it does matter I'm afraid because a game like this depends on you connecting with the character.

The last time a famous co-creator gave me a game "unlike any I've ever played before" I got Mind's Eye.

As a fan of the original I'm glad that it was cancelled tbh. From what I saw it was a generic game starring a woman with red hair.
I would rather my childhood games remain dormant forever than to have some in name only sequel share their name.

The show started OK. But as it went on (and especially its spin off) it just became gross for the sake of gross imo.

The last PS2 game came out in 2013 but you wouldn't call it of the same generation as the PS3.

The digital only console discount was huge - it was something in the region of £290. That is insane value.

That aside, I would argue that the gaming equivalent of a black and white silent movie would be the Vectrex - and yeah, you would be hard pressed to find anyone willing to play that today.
The PS1 is more like making a 1980s or 1990s throwback. And there are plenty of shows out there that prove just how popular those are.

Colin McRae Rally was a great game back in the day. I can see myself picking this up.

This was the game where, in retrospect, it became obvious that Hideo Kojima needed to be replaced.
The gameplay itself was fine but the story was a convoluted mess. And I dare anyone to tell me that they understood it the first time through.

@Dodoo These stupidly expensive long winded games will all but vanish eventually. The health of this industry beyond the Big Ten (GTA5, Fortnite, Minecraft etc.) is deeply questionable whether it can make the returns any more. So many high profile failures...

@Rich33 I would recommend a Youtuber by the name of Modern Vintage Gamer who has a video on this. Basically, yes, all of the arcade versions and their ports cheated. The PS1 version has identical code to the arcade.
