10 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for September 2026 Announced

Oh dear, that's not very good is it

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is some good *****, definitely get in on that😁

Has premium just given up?

We are now getting ps4 games as premium now?

Slightly confused by Sniper Elite being here when it just got added to Essential? Ball x Pit is fantastic and have been playing that on Switch and Ninja Gaiden looks like good fun. Mega Man X Command Mission is a game I have a lot of fondness for but I’m not sure how well it’ll hold up!

Ball x f****** Pit let's go!! I always wanted to play Slitterhead (even though it's meant to be janky)

Wwe 2k26 already? Its only a few months old I think

@nessisonett They did that last month with Dying Light 2 being on the essential and extra tiers. Unsure why.

Ball X Pit for me.

Two months in a row we get the same games in essential and extra. Rubbish.

Also ps4 games on premium is ridiculous.

Pretty good month! Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, RuneScape: Dragonwilds & Dungeons of Hinterberg for me.

Played through Dungeons of Hinterberg on Xbox, getting all the achievements. Might be convinced to give a platinum run a try. Absolutely blast of a game though!

holy sh*t what an embarassing month

Dungeons of Hinterberg is great if anyone hasn't nabbed it

Not happy to see Metro Redux on Premium, but i do like this trend Sony is building of doing atleast two games a month.

A lot of interesting filler but no headliners. Could be better but I'm content with it.

Ballxpit and ninja gaiden ragebound are definite plays for me. Heard hinterberg was decent too so may give that a go. Slitterhead and date everything aren't on my to play list but I wouldnt rule out play either of them at some point.

WWE can get in the bin where it belongs. They have to give us that title earlier every year because the servers close incredibly quickly rendering them useless in no time. No issue with them adding the essential game to extra but only as an additional title not one of the 8 we now typically get which is what they've done here. Poor form that. Its much more annoying when they do it the other way around though when we get an essential title that was on extra 12 months ago.

Rather comical we get 2 premium titles (technically 3 given redux is 2 games in 1) and people still find a way to moan about that tier

You have to be kidding me BallxPit? I said today that I'm on my third copy, here's number four. I remember seeing Slitherhead on a State of Play on here too. I think I'll try RuneScape, I've seen it mentioned so many times now. I probably need to try Date Everything too, I tried a pigeon dating game once and was surprised by how much depth it had. There really is something for everyone this month.

@SuperSilverback Thank you for the heads up, I've seen some of your current playing/recommendations so I'll definitely be sure to add it.

Runescape for me, wasn't a fan of Ball X Pit tbh. Might give Metro and Bomberman a go sometime. Not a bad month really, this is the first time since ever that I have been reasonably interested in the Premium offerings. I think I've tried Meteo already on Xbox but didn't really give it a chance. With all the games coming out it could be some time until I try any of the others but Runscape has been on my to play radar since it was announced, pretty pumped for that.

A lot of games regurgitated from GamePass when they launched (aside from Slitterhead at least). So not a great list if you happen to sub to both services. Good games overall though if you haven’t played them already.

@TDHorizon I’d understand adding it to Essential later but surely everyone who has Extra has already added the Essential games for the month?

I think it is a decent spread. RuneScape is a nice day one to have. Ninja Gaiden? Yes pleash. BallxPit? Yes, put a smidge on the side of my plate... Screams with mouth full WWE2K26?! Yesh.

What a piece of virtual crap 🤮🤮🤮

I really enjoyed Date Everything, it's quite silly and fun though maybe about 15hours too long. It being fully voiced really makes it.

Will look into the others. At my overripe age, I prefer slower games with small worlds and a basic command system.

@GirlVersusGame Hatoful Boyfriend is the greatest Visual Novel ever made. Honestly the ghost pigeon made me tear up a bit, just wasn't expecting emotional depth from a pigeon dating sim.

The month's offering looked crap at first, but looking closer lots there I'd happily play. A lot of chill little games for the shifting of the season is pretty nice actually.

@Hyena_socks I was just thinking about you today actually, wondering why you have the name Hyena Socks. That's the game Hatoful Boyfriend, it's one of the weirdest games I ever played and like you just said I wasn't expecting that level of emotion. I'm sure it came through Plus+ years ago, I didn't go out of my way to buy a game like that. I have Plus+ to find games I'd usually never hear of, I've yet to play a truly bad game on there. They usually all have some kind of redeeming features. Though it has backfired, another visual novel. It feel cosy, calm and sweet at first, then turned into a psychological Horror game. I started it so I had to finish it, never again.

I can't understand how a game can on the basic to keep and the same month it's on extra, at least wait till the next month seems a bit of a cop out really

Adding that Sniper Elite game to Extra in the same month they give it away on Essential seems a bit pointless.

Weird month, totally expect general opinion to be negative but there are actually 3 Extra games I'm interested in and haven't cashed out for yet.. and Premium is not rubbish. Not sure how to feel about this

@nessisonett that is a bit odd seeing Sniper Elite there. It does seem to have been a success for them as I've played against a LOT of new players over the last week or so

Pretty good month.

Dungeons of Hinterberg needs a performance patch. It has terrible frame drops even on PS5 Pro. Which should not be the case. Given its cell shaded, visuals and art style.

SlitterHead. I have the collectors edition. Which I can now keep sealed on the shelf and play this digital version.

Date Everything and Ninja Gaiden Ragebound. I'll play for sure.

I was pumped seeing Dragonwilds on there but apparently no one here cares about it? lol

Pretty weak month. I mean, like always anything that’s cheap, but now these seem to be just huge disappointment considering subscription fee.

Another month of abysmal 🐶💩

I have a theory about duplicating games in essential and extra. I think they relying on us playing games in backlog and if you accidentally select the extra version after already downloading the essential version then you lose the full licence

@nessisonett they probably forgot or miss a month

I don't own any of these. And I've had my eye on about 4 of them. Good haul this month

Fun fact: Slitterhead Day one edition PS5 for North America/Japan has an exclusive outer box, a 104 page colour art book with commentary by the creator, original soundtrack CD and sticker sheet with Game artwork and the Physical disc (remember those) all for the price of a standard game.

Ball x Pit! Was waiting for it to be finished before buying, and now I don’t have to. Win! A great game to play alongside Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Plus is really paying off recently.

DUNGEONS OF HINTERBERG Also looks good, and no real time pressure to do everything, which is what is sometimes frustrating about games with this type of structure.

Ball x Pit has been on my radar for a while so excited about that.

@GirlVersusGame is that Doki Doki Literature Club? I've never played that one. And I'm the same with Extra, it's a great place for finding games I missed at launch, that are smaller hidden gems.

My user name is based on a funny little story. I spent some time in Namibia over a decade ago, working in conservation. I helped a researcher with her predator density PhD at one point, apparently before I joined she lost a frying pan and, inexplicably, a sock right off her drying line to a hyena.

They love to chew things, so the pan makes sense, the sock remains a mystery. It still makes me smile, and it's a cute little username.

Ball x pit is brilliant. A must play

I very nearly bought WWE the other week, had this weird premonition it was going to come up as a monthly game though. Glad I listened to my gut!

RuneScape is a brilliant edition. Slitterhead looks insane. But a PS4 game in premium? Where is Desert strike or Command & Conquer or something that’s actually a classic

Already have Ball x Pit. Highly recommend if you need another time-sucking Vampire Survivors / Balatro game in your life.

Nothing really here for me this month but will give Dungeons of Hinterberg a try.

Very nearly bought WWE today but held off with Wolverine only being a week away 😅

That alone alongside some backlog games will do nicely after Wolverine is done.

@Monstermash40 you’re wrong but that’s ok mate. You can still play whatever else you enjoy 👍🏻

Ball x pit is brilliant - spent hours on it on switch.

Oh this is a really nice selection. Really like this. Lots of bangers that I have been wanting to play.

@TDHorizon will likely become a pattern going forward. Probably to attract new PS Plus users who can be converted through Extra catalogue games, since past Essential games cannot be accessed by new users.

Sniper Elite: Resistance is with PS Plus Essentials

@Hyena_socks It was Doki Doki, it was really rough and disturbing, I could have gotten platinum too and was good with the one ending.

You worked in conservation? I'd never in a million of years have guessed that but when I saw your name I was wearing cat socks and thought 'are they wearing hyena sock?' What does predator density mean? culling dangerous animals who eat the smaller ones? I love the idea that there's a hyena out there with a sock and a frying pan. Thank you for sharing that, it's brilliant and it made me smile too. That hyena sounds far better than ones in Conan that chased me across biomes, they drove everyone in that game crazy. I died more to hyenas in that game than to anything else in every Fromsoft game combined.

You asked me the other day about the Occult? I just spent the last few hours talking to Northern Munkey about that same topic in chatchat, it's there if you are curious. We'd been talking about music, got to Zeppelin and because Jimmy Page is an Occultist too, well the conversation went the way it did. You might gleam something.

@ShogunRok Uh??? So US, UK, and Japan aren't getting Mega Man X Command Mission? 🤔

Metro Redux is in on premium because metro 2033 and last light are remasters

the metro games are excellent, fantastic world building

How many times do I have to say this before they bother to read it.

THESE DATES ARE NOT JUST FOR UK US AND JAPAN

Maybe I should start repeating it? I'm sure a mod will see it.

THESE DATES ARE NOT JUST FOR UK US AND JAPAN

Ball x Pit was awesome, wish they’d add more trophies.

Not the best month, wake me up when Ratchet & Clank gets added.

@ShogunRok I’m really tired, so excuse me if my brain isn’t working. UK account, how am I able to download and play Ball X Pit already? Is there some weird glitch happening?

Wait, is Australia not getting most of these? Date Everything isn't available here. Wtf...

@GirlVersusGame I burnt myself out on Visual novels a few years back, so never played Doki Doki - I might give it a go sometime though. And I didn't know Jimmy Page was an occultist, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few prog rock icons were.

I never played the Conan games, but they sound like Morrowind cliff-racers haha

Predator density research is figuring out what and how many predators are in an area. We used mainly cameras and 'hair traps' (basically a comb animals brush past).

I also volunteered for a Cheetah rehabilitation (rescuing and relocating cheetahs, that may otherwise be in danger or injured). Both places were wonderfully remote, but one in the south the other further north, and Namibia changes so much as you make that journey - barren shrubland to dense bush.

Unfortunately it was a funded year in employment during university, so I've been working normal office jobs since then.
