Christopher Judge, the actor who portrays Kratos in the Norse God of War games, has passed comment on the recently revealed casting choice for the character in the TV adaptation.
In case you missed it, Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, and voice of Thor in God of War Ragnarok) will play the main character in Amazon's live action retelling of the Norse saga.
Fortunately, it seems Judge is delighted with this result. In a recent video from Fan Expo HQ, he only has positive things to say about Hurst:
"All I wanted was for whoever was cast as Kratos was that they love, cherish, and respect Kratos as much as we all do," Judge says. "And with Ryan Hurst, they have done that. It's a magnificent choice."
He goes on to call him "not only a great actor, but a great person", adding that he's "actually played God of War since its inception", meaning Hurst is already familiar with the story and the character.
"So, kudos. You've got a great live-action Kratos. Kill it, Ryan."
It's great to see Kratos' current performer give Hurst his support.
The God of War TV show won't be seen for a while, as filming is yet to begin, though it's meant to get started soon.

It should have been Tom Cruise.
If this was the early 2010s I wonder would he say the same 🤔
Wait...he's the voice of Kratos?!
Man they just kicked the OG voice actor to the curb
@Can-You-Believe-Sith Given how his career collapsed in the 2010s after being typecast as the aging star of Stargate he would have taken anything. Did you listen to his emotional speech at the game awards?
