AI is still in its infancy. Think of how far it has come in just ten years. Now think about the next ten. And the ten after that. Money, money, money. That is what it comes down to. The moment that they can just press a button and make the next billion dollar game? You bet they will.
I am willing to try the motion controls but I have serious doubts that it'll ever come close to replicating a true light gun. I wonder what happened to light gun games anyway? They were very popular once.
They can whine about review bombing and conspiracies all they like, but their game sucked. Simple as that.
They gave us an empty world, a boring story, vapid stereotype protagonists, and buggy repetitive gameplay with too many fail states.
Even the titular "MindsEye" turned out to be just a chip that controls a single drone.
It'll be nice to finally see Naughty Dog's latest game. Y'know, that game? The one that so far has had less gameplay reveals than Duke Nukem Forever did in the same space of time?
Yeah sure, many do. And those us of us who put ourselves on pedestals are probably just as guilty. BUT, just because criticism of a product is made popular by a Youtuber does not mean that it is wrong. Red Letter Media back in the 2000s destroyed Star Wars discourse for a decade because every time a Prequels discussion sparked up on a forum there would always be someone parroting Plinkett. That does not mean however that what they said about the Prequels was incorrect. It means that people without an original thought in their heads allowed themselves to be swept up in it.
@Northern_munkey COD is like FIFA or Madden. They simply are not interested in innovation because it'll sell anyway. Apart from the odd feature here and there, the series has not fundamentally changed since the PS3.
Given how lazily identical each COD game is year after year, I get the feeling that it probably still could have come out on PS4.
As for the best game, none of them. The Golden Age of COD is almost unanimously considered to have ended after BLOPS2.
@Jay767 1.2 million copies total according to Google. At forty dollars a time that really isn't as much as it sounds when you factor in the hundreds of millions that it cost Sony to reach this point.
Nah, we are not in the second video game crash guys. No evidence of that at all. All of these thousands upon thousands of lay offs with 50% never finding work again is the sign of a completely healthy industry.
@Oram77 In my opinion, if you are a parent then you will understand Joel's decision to save Ellie. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" is easy to say until it is your kid on that table being prepared to be sacrificed for the many. And let's not split hairs here, the fact that Ellie is not actually Joel's blood changes nothing.
@HaveTheSauce Meh. I don't know that I agree with that. Only a few loud internet grifters and sad boys in comment sections really care that she is bald, or that Abby had muscles, or that Ellie is gay.
TLOU2, the game and the show, was controversial because people do not enjoy seeing their heroes die. Nothing more, nothing less.
But a good story will always be a good story and this game will sell if ND delivers one.
@Shrek_Realista Because if you've been playing the game for 25 years like I have, there are certain points in this game where it begins to become a chore to get through due to the amount of talking. Bevelle and Yunalesca spring very much to mind.
The Remaster not having the ability to skip cutscenes or speed up the game was a ridiculous decision.
@kyleforrester87 I can't play it on PlayStation any more. Its PC with the cutscene skipper and 4x speed or nothing.
And i say that as someone who is clearly a fan of the game given my picture. But those unskippable cutscenes and long ass grinding sections have had their day.
Imagine living in a country where 10 million is the equivalent of only a few hundred bucks.
I do not understand why these countries with such silly high denominations just do not start over again. "Right lads, from now on, we'll be referring to ten million IDR as ten New IDR. Agreed?"
And it is not as if you cannot change your money because Britain did fifty years ago.
Lol, all of you in this comment thread smugly talking about how you only buy physical seem to be willfully ignoring the fact that a considerable number of disks nowadays do not actually ship with the full game on it and/or will not work without an update. You don't actually own anything either.
Tbh, I do not think we have heard the last of this debate from Sony either. They were clearly very keen to port their exclusives only a few months ago. Is it really all that impossible that this time next year they'll be thinking about it again?
@trev666 Meh. Maybe that was true ten years ago but nowadays we have something called livestreams. Agendas and other people's fake opinions are very easy to see through now that I can see all that a game has to offer without spending a single penny on it.
@trev666 A lot of it was expectations being set too high. When you market a game "from the creator of every GTA game that you've ever loved" do not be surprised if people expect a GTA level experience.
Angry Joe's review really does mirror a lot of people's experiences with this game: plenty of boring empty nothing, plenty of bugs, plenty of random fail states.
@Bramble PS6 will probably be diminishing returns as well lets be honest. Sorry to be Debbie Downer on it, but we all know that it'll be cross platform with the PS5 for half of its life cycle.
@AnginaPectoris In Greek mythology Ares represented raw violence and power whereas Athena represented strategy and military discipline. They were yin and yang, offence vs defence.
Thing is, that works because they belong to the same pantheon. Once you start trying to make out that all religions are real it starts getting convoluted. Marvel and DC in particular suffers greatly from this problem.
Having multiple mythologies is confusing if handled incorrectly. How realistically do you have two gods of war or two gods of the sea operating simultaneously? Does one take care of the Atlantic and the other the Pacific?
No open world sandbox is ever going to match GTA. Rockstar have had thirty years to perfect their formula. There is no excuse for "jank" but people need to tone down their expectations and take the game for what it is.
I'm reminded of that episode of The Simpsons where Moe wins a competition to be the face of a calendar - and the people running it did not want to put his face on it because he is too ugly. I feel as if that is going to be the same here. Are they really going to pick some hairy guy with a beer gut over someone younger and more attractive to win this?
@Simu001 It is really hard to warm up to scum. Because that is what Johnny is. He is a drunk, he is casually violent, he uses people, and oh yes, he NUKED a major metropolitan area. He actually isn't that far off from being Trevor from GTA5. Let's be honest about this: if this guy was not being played by Keanu Reeves would he enjoy the universal praise that he receives?
@MrSensical The downfall of Bethesda is not due to a lack of talent as you say. Fallout 3 and 4 are packed to the brim with content. The problem is their willfull neglect when it comes to innovation. How frigging long did they stick with that ageing engine? There are so many games now that play better, look better and deliver better.
I feel like some people in this comment section need reminding that 5/10 is not a bad score. It means that the game is average. Generic. Run-of-the-mill. A rental.
Graphics no longer interest me. They are already good enough. Three more blades of grass in "super duper whopper resolution" is not going to impress me. Especially as it'll probably just bump the cost up even more.

A lot of fuss over nothing again.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Could Take the Story Even Further with DLC
I do not want this. The story has already been expanded over the original by somewhere in the region of 1,000%.
Time to work on something else.
