Failing FPS Highguard's Concord Arc Seems Almost Complete, as Website Goes Down 1

Update []:

One of the few remaining devs at embattled Highguard dev Wildlight Entertainment has revealed why the game’s website is offline.

In a post on Discord, he pointed out that the page needs to be transferred and simplified, but it’s a “low priority” for the studio’s reduced workforce while it focuses on releasing content and updates for its game.

Obviously it’s not a good look overall, but perhaps not the death knell some were predicting.

Original Story: While a select few on social media are revelling in the failure of Highguard, we can’t help but feel sad to see another title crash and burn.

But following some heavy layoffs last week, things aren’t looking particularly positive for Wildlight Entertainment’s latest.

Fans noticed yesterday morning that the title’s website had been taken offline, and it remains that way approaching 24 hours later.

It’s worth noting that the game itself remains playable, but the webpage simply shows the game’s logo and the following message: “This site is currently unavailable.” There’s no word on when it will return.

In related news, a report from GameFile reveals that Chinese titan Tencent was one of the big investors behind the first-person shooter, which was made by ex-Respawn staff who had experience working on the likes of Titanfall and Apex Legends.

It’s unclear why this was kept secret for so long, but it’s not looking like the conglomerate will be getting a return on its investment in this instance.

To be honest, we can’t help but feel the writing is on the wall here. Wildlight Entertainment has said it’ll continue to iterate on the release with its remaining team, but Steam concurrent player numbers are in the toilet, hitting a peak of just 1,507 over the last 24 hours.

It’s possible the release may be doing better on console, but it doesn’t seem particularly likely, does it? Don’t be surprised if this whole thing gets pulled offline within the next few weeks.
