Isn't it fascinating though just how well GTA5 has stood the test of time?

Few have tried to surpass it in recent years and when they do, such as the Saints Row reboot or Mind's Eye, they come nowhere near it.

@SeaDaVie I don't care about the non-mainline games. Actual FF hasn't had turn based combat since FFX.

@Juanalf They haven't done both for about twenty years at this point. Not in the mainline games anyway.

Square has been pushing the end of turn-based combat and ''more, more, more action!'' since FF12.

I would love a return to something resembling the FF games of the 1990s but I would be very surprised to see it happen. Square seems to hate them (even though ironically they love to keep on bringing them back).

MGS4 is absolutely not worth the wait so don't worry.

Tbh, I would like a bit more than "we are partly to blame for this one" because people expect more from a website such as this. I might as well go and get my news from "Random Youtuber Number 456" if this is what i can expect going forward.

It comes down to price.
If the PS6 is ''quality PC money'' like the PS5 Pro was, then why not just pay a bit more and get a dedicated gaming PC?

Deus Ex is not a great port, but it plays well enough. Especially if this is your first time. Hopefully we also get Human Revolution at some point.

This game has PS Plus written all over it and that might not actually be a bad idea. We all know that they'll patch out the bugs eventually and it might inspire people to pick it back up again.

I played the Saints Row Reboot under similar circumstances and there was fun to be had once you hardened yourself to the enormous levels of cringe (which I will admit was a challenge.)

Games like this and the Saints Row Reboot really do highlight just how good GTA actually is. Even Vice City blows the pants off Mind's Eye in terms of content from what I've seen
If GTA6 releases in a perfected state, it will absolutely have been worth the wait. Guaranteed.

That's why streaming never took off too BTW. Millions of people are happy with their one game. They are not looking for the next Fortnite because they already have the original Fortnite.

The biggest mistake according to leaks was "a culture of toxic positivity".
Or in other words, the team was scared to tell the boss that it was crap for fear of reprisal.

This is not a good port of Deus Ex.
But.
Its not a bad port either.
Play the PC version if you can, but the console version is a reasonable substitute.

@nessisonett Your average consumer does not care enough to boycott anything. And as we all know, gamer boycotts are a laugh anyway. All mean words on social media and not a lot else.

Having played both versions of GTA3 recently I can tell you that the tone of the original is still far superior. The original Liberty City feels dirty, seedy, gritty, with litter blowing across the streets and trash in the alleys. The Remaster still feels too clean, too smooth.
And i know that many of you will know exactly what I am talking about.

I'm glad people like it, but it's not for me. I now understand how many must have felt when VII came along. This is just so unlike what came before that i find it very difficult to accept as an FF title.

I didn't have a bad time with the first game, but I've also never felt the need to play it again either.
My hope is that they veer away from its clear origins as a Fallout clone and attempt something original.

People checking the game out for the first time or people trying to wash the bad taste out of their mouths by playing the superior version of the story? You decide!

A very poor comparison given how Mario is pretty much the most popular gaming character of all time. Very few games have the ability to compete with Mario.

I like to think of GTA3 as being the first true GTA game. 1 and 2 are just so unlike anything that came later and their mechanics have aged so poorly that they do not even feel like GTA games.
Honestly, at this point you probably could convince someone that Driver is the first game in the GTA series.

I think that a poll is needed.

Namco and Konami are the Japanese equivalent of EA and Ubisoft. If they can find a way for a cheap buck, they will.

@Oram77 If the continuous retcons of MGS4 and 5 have taught me anything, it is that this series is best left without Kojima in it as his ideas were starting to get nonsensical. The whole cast of MGS3 is now evil and there is a guy just off camera in every scene cleaning up after Snake. What next?

I would rather a reboot with fresh blood tbh.

There has been a 31% drop in viewership since Pascal left the show. They made a very serious mistake in doubling down on Joel's death and it is costing them.

My view on this is the same as the Atari Classics collection. It might make a good birthday present for your dad but modern gamers will not find much here.

Those of you hoping for the next generation console to be revolutionary are going to be disappointed.

Open world sandbox games are great if there actually is an open world.

Too many devs just think "here is tons of empty space for you to run around in" and then just leave it there.
