I hope the game does well even though I'll probably wait for a sale. Bandai Namco is like the only major publisher still putting out these Japanese styled RPG/Action RPG games that the Ps2 generation had dozens of.
Also I love how removing a label on box art sends people into a fanboy frenzy. They said recently that 2 years seems right when it comes to ports and the game is a year old. This article means nothing. For people saying to just "upgrade your PC" good luck. A decent graphics card right now is double the price of a Ps5 or Series X. I bought a 3080 off a scalper in November for $900, now that card is going for 2 grand.
@Divergent95 Xbox literally does the same thing with every one of their games that you're complaining about Playstation for yet Xbox is going to be your next console? Wouldn't you just go PC for that to make sense?
The headline is completely wrong. It's not spotted on the Epic Store, files related to the game have been spotted in the Epic database. It's also been there since 2020. Obviously the game will come to Epic and other platforms eventually, but how this article frames the story is incorrect.
Nothing sells in Japan but mobile gaming. There's really nothing Sony can do. Even the Ps4 games Sony made geared towards Japan didn't sell so stop with the dumb Sony left Japan nonsense. Japan doesn't console game anymore. Even Nintendo's Wii U failed miserably in Japan because it wasn't mobile. Japanese developers are still great, but the country just doesn't traditionally game anymore. It's sad, the Ps1/Ps2 generations were the best in gaming and it was mostly because of Japan and its great variety of games.
@nessisonett So you'd have no problem if Google bought Take Two and made GTA6 Stadia exclusive? Context matters. Sony and Nintendo aren't spending billions on 3rd party publishers just to keep games off other platforms, Microsoft is. Sony and Nintendo start new IP's with their own companies or with other 2nd/3rd party developers and then buy them. They're not using money from outside the industry to try and slowly monopolize gaming like MS is. That's what people have an issue with.
@Yaycandy So just because the Xbox brand had access to one more ES game than Sony did that makes them more associated with the brand lol? If the PS2 wasn't such a pain to develop for it probably would have gotten Morrowind. Bethesda games sold much more on Playstation to begin with. They'll always be more associated with PC because that's where every game they've ever made has been started.
@TripleKing333 And where have any of those happened aside from third party access which every story I've seen is usually because some idiot tried to trade accounts or something similar. What are the chances that Sony has a database failure compared to your 20 year old CD not working?
@Royalblues You're the one who completely ignored my argument. We own games just as much as we did years ago. Until Steam/Sony/etc. start removing access to your old game downloads then my stance proves true. I don't even see the point of your third sentence.
Also my problem with GP is that it's not profitable without a massive subscriber base and it will eventually change how games are made. MS is taking massive losses so they can build a subscriber base and control the future of the industry. They're practically giving it away for free. If games now become geared towards subscription services then we'll see even more live service games and just endless seasons instead of sequels. Just look at how Halo MP is now going to be free to play.
@Royalblues You couldn't be more wrong. When those cartridges and CD's for the older consoles wear out or break you now own nothing. However any game I purchase on Steam or even the old consoles you'll have access to basically forever. Even the Wii with its store shut down you can still access any game you've purchased. Same deal when Ps3 eventually shuts down again. So how is physical superior again and that we don't own anything? And don't even try to compare live service or MMO games that have shut down. That's an entirely different story.
@LiamCroft Why not mention it's full price on Switch and PC? You also state that it's full price on Ps4/5 as if what you're getting on Gamepass is the same thing. You're paying full price to OWN the game on the other platforms and to rent it for a few months on Gamepass. It just comes off as such a forced dig.
I'm good with pointless one off DLC for RE games. I'd so much rather have Directors Cut versions of RE2 and RE3 with added content. I'd easily pay full price for RE2make with proper A/B campaigns and RE3 with a classic Mercenaries mode and not the gimpy Village mode.
I think the problem is the action RPG Souls style is so done to death. It doesn't look that different compared to the first teaser, it just doesn't stand out at all.
I like owning my games so I have no interest in Gamepass. I'll gladly wait for a Steam sale rather than just rent the game. If you want to try a game out there is Gamefly for Ps4/5 and it's pretty cheap.
@Alpha_Pulse I think the argument that MS needed to buy Bethesda is beyond stupid. First of all they're not doing poorly or need to turn anything around, they literally just had the best year ever for the Xbox division. Second of all just buying out the competition isn't how you do better. Look at the Ps3 gen and Nintendo's GC and Wii U generations. Did they have to spend billions buying random developers and publishers to turn things around? No, they just focused on making better games and hardware. MS is just trying to brute force the gaming industry and it will suffer for it.
I think people are overthinking this. They're not going to be porting games like Horizon to phones because the gameplay just can't work on a touch screen. What they'll do is make smaller phone based games with their IP's like Nintendo has been doing. As long as the development doesn't take resources from their game development studios who cares? They're making a mobile division so it seems like none of their regular studios will be impacted.
@Kohaku Where did I say it was a good thing? Also you're talking about TIMED exclusivity which is far better than just completely buying out a publisher. After one year you'll be able to play Deathloop on Xbox. Compare that to now MS has bought Bethesda outright so Starfield (a game that was already being developed for Ps4/Ps5) is now completely exclusive to Xbox. That game will never come to a Playstation console now compared to waiting a year for Xbox. If you can't see how one is objectively better than the other you're delusional.
@commentlife No one's saying Sony doesn't buy developers, the issue is that MS is buying up giant 3rd party PUBLISHERS with 10+ developers in them and still buying up basically any 3rd party developer they can get their hands on. Every developer Sony has purchased they worked closely with for multiple years before purchasing or they were 2nd party studios to begin with. Insomniac made Playstation exclusive games for 16 years, Sucker Punch made an N64 game and then nothing but Playstation games until being purchased, etc. If you can't see how different that is from not only buying up a giant 3rd party publisher, but also just buying up random studios then you're beyond dense.
I think it's great they're doing these partnerships, but Sony needs to take a good look at Square, Capcom, and Konami and purchase one of them. Microsoft is a company that doesn't like to lose in an industry and we already see they're just going to use their vast resources from outside gaming to try and take over the industry. This is absolutely horrible for gaming and sets a bad precedent for the future. How far behind do they fall before they decide its time to make another major acquisition?
Everyone loses when a 3rd party publisher is bought out and made exclusive, but we already know Microsoft is going to keep doing it until they eventually lead the industry so Sony might as well get started. Playstation alone made $3.2 billion in profit last year, use it.
I'll take a short amazing experience over a bloated open world game every time. I have well over a hundred hours played on both versions of Resident Evil 2 and that's mainly because the game has incredible pacing which makes replaying them endlessly so much fun. On the flipside I have 100+ hours in The Witcher 3 and I'll never replay that game because it's just too long and I'd rather spend the time I have on something else.
@truerbluer Yes because they haven't announced games that are years away it must mean there's just NOTHING in development for 2022 and 2023. Its not like they recently mentioned they have 25+ first party games being worked on.
I really hope the rumors aren't true that this team is now working on the Silent Hill reboot that has been in development hell for a while now. Nothing they've done so far has shown they can do Silent Hill justice. Plus I'd rather have a Japanese team work on SH. Aside from Capcom I can't even think of another Japanese horror developer.
No they didn't lie. They said this before a massive component shortage. Not to mention they're still releasing Ps5 only games. How does "we believe in generations" = every new game from this day forward needs to be Ps5 only. No console maker has ever done that because its incredibly stupid. If they did do that you'd just be writing articles complaining that Sony abandoned Ps4.

@awp69 Funny how you ignore that Sony has added boosts and upgrades to old games too. If MS cared about old games they'd actually make more than 3 out of 10 work. Obviously their stance is better than Sony's, but that's not so hard to do when they don't care at all. So many of you act like they have complete BC and it's a complete lie.
@Total_Weirdo Do people like you even know what you're talking about? Less than 30% of their 360 and og Xbox games work with BC. Sure it's better than nothing, but I hardly consider that embracing their old games. You people talk like they have complete BC and it's bs. They haven't even added anymore games to the BC list in years.
I'm sure it will get a sequel eventually, but Sony has so many 3rd person shooters already and it's way too close to TLOU setting and gameplay wise. They should have Bend work on an open world RPG and then make a sequel later down the line.
@Royalblues So your argument is that people wrongly crap on MS for only putting out the same games and that they have put out more diverse games than Playstation, then you list Forza, Halo, and Gears as these games. Bravo. I'm not saying they haven't put out any decent games, but to argue their last gen offering was even remotely as diverse or as good as Sony's is laughable.
@BrainHacker I said all BUT officially confirmed. We have Ryan in November saying there's big news coming for PSnow and then David Jaffe saying they have a response to Gamepass. Put 2 and 2 together.
@Royalblues Please enlighten me on all these great diverse games MS made last generation? Their only major success that isn't the same ***** they always pump out was Sea of Thieves.
I'm going to laugh when Sony goes full streaming too and then everyone starts complaining when the industry goes full live service mode, games come with less content overall, and instead of sequels you get endless "seasons". You people want to pay $15 a month to rent games fine, I'd rather wait for a sale and actually own the game if it isn't worth the full asking price. This will absolutely effect game budgets and how games are made overall. Just think of the quality of Netflix vs big Hollywood movies.
@get2sammyb You know if you're so in love with renting games you could just use Gamefly and get the game for $9 a month. You don't understand the license is everything. If Sony loses the license the franchise is done and MLB just uses another developer. Stop being such a melodramatic fanboy.
@munstre Sony's just going to have to give in and do the same thing with PSNow. They don't have the money to fight MS but their brand is stronger. I have no idea how 3rd party publishers are going to survive when streaming fully takes over though. Either way I couldn't care less about either brand of box, but I would rather have Sony as the market leader as their brand appeals to more than just America and we get a wider variety of games made overall. Just look how awful the 360 generation was with MS leading the way. Everything was geared towards Americans so it was nothing but bland shooters.

Re: Sony Suggests MLB Made the Decision to Include MLB The Show 21 on Xbox Game Pass
@get2sammyb You know if you're so in love with renting games you could just use Gamefly and get the game for $9 a month. You don't understand the license is everything. If Sony loses the license the franchise is done and MLB just uses another developer. Stop being such a melodramatic fanboy.
Re: Reaction: Sony Said Xbox Game Pass Isn't Sustainable, Then Released One of Its Tentpole Titles into the Service Anyway
