Re: Microsoft Bigwig Implies PS5 Is Losing Marketshare to Xbox

mucc

What cringe. When your company spends billions to keep chips away from your competitors and on top of that spends $80 billion to buy out 3rd party publishers because you're terrible at making games on your own, is that really something to brag about? Its like a rich kid gloating about having friends when he just buys them all. This is the generation the industry falls apart and you can thank garbage MS for it.

Re: Rumour: PS5, PS4 Games Over $34 Must Have PS Plus Premium Two-Hour Trials

mucc

@sanderson72 Demos are dead because no developer is spending the time to make them anymore, not because of Sony. Also this doesn't stop them from making actual demos.
@alexbolton2 This is just giving people 2 hours to play a game before buying it so it's not like taking resources to make a specific demo for a game.

Re: The Witcher 3 Sales Top 40 Million, Cyberpunk 2077 Passes 18 Million

mucc

@DnBSkillz Thank you! It's impossible to make any sense with that clown. Dude is going to say that OC'ing and variable frequency are the same and doesn't even understand the reason why Sony can't say "full" RDNA2 even though it has all the features it needs. He's going to sit here and say he's not some Xbox troll yet he's saying dumb fanboy school yard ***** like they overclocked the Ps5 at the last second and apparently this new one where they are throwing away "boards" because they can't handle the overclock heat lol..

Re: The Witcher 3 Sales Top 40 Million, Cyberpunk 2077 Passes 18 Million

mucc

@Rural-Bandit You clearly list hyperbolic nonsense as if its fact. You realize when DF compares games they take particle effects, ambient occlusion, AA, and every other visual effect into context right? If the dev kits were the issue out the gate then why is Ps5 still out performing Series X in some games? The whole dev kit thing is grasping at this point. Valhalla won head to head after the patch? They had to LOWER the resolution for Series X in the patch for it to match the Ps5 version FPS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1HbGf2R7yk&t=1s You can list games that run better for Series X and I can keep listing games that run better on Ps5, like I said before that's common but the reality is both run 90% of games identical. Not much better for Series X like you claimed.

-"why did they at the last min overclock the GPU to take a 9TFLOP machine to 10.2 TFLOPS and run the system with a larger heat sink?"
-"Which the overclock runs the processors so hot for sony that its a issue for getting more supply, cause lots of boards have to be throw away cause they can’t handle the overclock heat"

Ok now you're just showing how much of a Xbox fanboy you are. Both of these are complete fanboy nonsense with zero truth behind them. Also that list of 120 FPS game is of course going to be much higher on Series X because Xbox's backwards compatibility is better and can boost framerates without a patch where as Ps5 the developers have to go and spend time making a patch. Also for someone claiming to know so much about tech you think you would know the difference between overclocking and variable frequencies with boost, they're not the same thing at all like you're trying to portray it as a negative last ditch way to get more power.

Re: The Witcher 3 Sales Top 40 Million, Cyberpunk 2077 Passes 18 Million

mucc

@Rural-Bandit What you're saying is completely false and no Series X doesn't have much more games that run better. I've watched numerous DF videos and PSU even has a list of all games that run better on Ps5 than Series X, though its list is old. You bring up Hitman 3 which conveniently is one game that runs better on Series X. Even newer games like Elden ring, FF Strangers of Paradise, The Show, etc. have been coming out running better on Ps5 so the theory that it's the "dev kits" fault is really grasping. Probably the biggest difference is VRR for those who have displays that support it and Ps5 will have VRR within the next few months. As Mark Cerny said you can't just take TFLOPS into account when it comes to consoles, especially when they have custom tech like Ps5's I/O complex that can make a huge difference. The reality is most games run nearly identical on both platforms with some running slightly better on one than the other. At the end of the day there isn't much that's going to change that.

Re: The Witcher 3 Sales Top 40 Million, Cyberpunk 2077 Passes 18 Million

mucc

@Ralizah The only game from them Xbox platforms got that wasn't on a Playstation was The Witcher 2. The reason it wasn't released on Ps3 is because it would have taken way too long to port because of Ps3's wonky architecture, it took an entire year to port to 360 so we can only imagine how long it would have taken for Ps3. Regardless CD Projekt is printing money and has no reason to be purchased. They may end up becoming a major 3rd party publisher which would be great for the industry.

Re: The Final Fantasy 9 Remake Rumours Return Following Kingdom Hearts 4 Confirmation

mucc

FF9 is probably a little bit bigger than 7 so there's 0 chance it's going to be a full fledged remake. If they can't do 7 in one game there's no way they'll spend the resources and do 9 in one and I can't see them breaking up the game like they did 7. It'll be another HD "upgrade", which honestly isn't a bad thing as the game is still incredibly enjoyable today.

Re: PlayStation Boss Promises More Acquisitions Are Planned

mucc

@Fiendish-Beaver You are a master at writing a ton of useless text and saying absolutely nothing of significance. First of all I said MS started this by buying PUBLISHERS, not developers. You can list all the developers Sony purchased over the years and it just shows that they purchased developers over a long period of time, they only turned on the floodgates recently when MS bought 10+ studios and then 2 massive PUBLISHERS. How you blindly try to compare that to Sony buying numerous studios over the 3 decades they've been in gaming is idiotic. Also for the timed exclusivity stuff guess what? MS started that too. Remember the 360 generation when they were the ones buying CoD DLC exclusivity and paid $50 million for GTA4's DLC exclusivity? Everything you blame Sony for MS did first and did it worse. I'm not saying Sony is a saint, but I'd take waiting a year to play a game rather than never being able to play a game at all.

I could pick apart every thing you say but it's Saturday and I have better things to do. Catch up lol? You really think MS that is worth a trillion ***** dollars is playing catch up to Sony? Stop being so dense.

Re: PlayStation Boss Promises More Acquisitions Are Planned

mucc

@Fiendish-Beaver What are you even talking about? In two years MS just spent $80 billion dollars buying up publishers and now are basically making the same amount of revenue as Playstation who has never purchased a single publisher before and has nowhere near the money MS does. MS just bought the 5th biggest publisher in the world like it was nothing. If you don't think this is all on MS you're insane. They started this trend. We went 40+ years without a single publisher being purchased and they now gobbled up two in two years. This is only the start. Buying up publishers to take IP's off other platforms is the worst trend in the industry so far and only MS is doing it.

Re: Rumour Mill Points to 'Really Big' Sony Acquisition, But It's Just Speculation

mucc

Konami or Square Enix would be perfect. When you think of the games made by both of these publishers Playstation is the brand that comes to mind first and the majority of the games made by them are already purchased mostly by Playstation owners so it wouldn't really be leaving many Xbox and Nintendo gamers out. Both publishers really need better management for their IP's too. From Software and Kojima Productions would be incredibly smart dev pickups for similar reasons. Keep the games made by them initially for PS consoles and then port them to PC later on for extra profit.

I'm thinking it may be Kojima seeing as how he's moving to a new location as well... If MS purchases their studio I'll ***** riot.

Re: Chrono Cross Remaster Doesn't Have the Original Soundtrack After All

mucc

This is legitimately a deal breaker for me. The original soundtrack is arguably the greatest OST in gaming and from what I've heard of the new tracks there's no comparison. If Trials Of Mana and plenty of other remakes/remasters gave you the option to switch then theres no reason why this one can't. Just goes to show how lazy of a remaster this is.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Inspired PS Plus Reboot Reveal Rumoured with Splashy Lineup of Games

mucc

People need to stop saying this is their Gamepass competitor because it's not and it never was going to be. This is just adding value to PSnow and combining their already existing services. Microsoft is bleeding billions of dollars now so maybe in the future there will be hundreds of millions of people subbing to GP and it will make them a profit. I just don't see it, most casual gamers aren't going to pay $15 a month for games they're not going to play.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Rural-Bandit Keep changing the subject. When did Sony buy a ***** publisher? SF5 they helped fund, Final Fantasy they're paying for timed exclusivity, Spiderman they develop themselves and don't own the IP as there have been other Marvel games with Spiderman in it. The timed exclusivity stuff is whack but MS does the exact same thing just with lesser mainstream titles. Also MS started the timed exclusivity wars during the 360 gen with GTA4's DLC and many other titles. Sony does their fair share of negative ***** as well as Nintendo, but NOTHING compared to spending billions to buy up existing IP's to keep multiplatform titles off other platforms. They just bought both publishers and one isn't even cleared yet so of course we haven't seen many titles be exclusive, but what do you think they spent $80 billion for? I'm not crying about anything shill, I'm pointing out how its completely assbackwards for an industry.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@mvhess Oh he gets it, he's just such an MS shill it doesn't matter to him. He somehow thinks MS is the good guy and Sony is the evil greedy corporation when they're both the same and just want your money. MS is just in all in mode to try and get as many subscribers as possible and doesn't care if they destroy the industry as long as they take control of it. It just makes me laugh how people like him think they're saving Bethesda and Activison even though it seems like every week we have a story about their first party studios having terrible management and people leaving. There's a reason why Xbox doesn't lead the industry and has to use billions of conglomerate money to buy out the competition. These clowns just don't seem to care that consolidation is going to ruin the industry. What makes me laugh is how they always bring up Tencent as if they're evil and would be worse off with them buying out the publishers. At least Tencent would keep the games multiplatform.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Rural-Bandit Oh I'm so salty for pointing out reality!
I never said piracy didn't keep games away from PC as it absolutely did. I said it wasn't a major factor of killing physical PC games. Physical PC sales were already dead by the mid-late 2000's when piracy became rampant with torrents and p2p programs.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Shigurui You realize MS pays the developers regardless if a game does well or not right? They're not going to disband any studios even if games do poorly either way because GP needs constant games and its cheaper to make games than sign 3rd party ones to GP. Either way I'm partially joking just to be a dick, aside from Bethesda games and Age of Empires I don't even see a single MS first party game on my Steam library so I don't even play most of their games.

Also I never condemned FH5 for their microtransactions, I was replying to someone who tried to say FH5 had little microtransactions which clearly isn't true. At least you can get GT7's cars without having to pay any real money at all if you play the game. Not every car is massively overpriced and I'm sure things will be adjusted. Every live service game goes through these things. Still I'd take a system where you can grind to get something over absolutely having to pay money.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Rural-Bandit Funny thing is I haven't pirated a game in over a decade, always a good time to start with MS games though! I didn't realize pirating a game or two from a trillion dollar conglomerate is going to ruin the industry. Also the PC was never "killed off" in the early 2000s and piracy didn't stop stores from carrying physical PC games. Console gaming was just far more popular and PC didn't get many big name console ports so it made more sense for those games to take up shelve space. Piracy became FAR more prevalent when digital distribution started and Direct 2 Drive and Steam completely killed physical PC game sales. You would know that since you know everything about the industry right?

Bethesda made ONE more game for Xbox that wasn't on Playstation. They've always been pro PC, not Xbox. Of course Todd Howard is going to say anything to praise the company that just made him personally $150 million richer. Money talks and Howard will say anything as we know from the past. It's ok to be biased and believe whatever you want though.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Rural-Bandit So somehow in your brain creating IP's from scratch with your own studios is the same as buying up giant 3rd party publishers for already created IP's? Also you're just making up complete nonsense saying Bethesda was always going to sell to MS. Morrowind is the ONE game they made that was on an Xbox platform and not a Playstation platform, mostly because the Ps2 was way too weak. That must mean they were the bestest of buddies right?

I'm not mad about anything, I just point out the facts. I'm a PC gamer so I have access to everything I'll ever need, but I still care about the industry because what MS is doing is going to have major ramifications within the next couple years. I'll absolutely steal if it means less money to a company that's forcing its way into complete control of an industry. It's funny how you bring up fanboy a lot when you're so blatantly one of them. At the end of the day NO ONE benefits when MS or any console maker buys out a multiplatform publisher to make those games now exclusive to their platform. Sorry but telling people to just buy out the other consoles is just beyond stupid and shows how ignorant you are to what's going on.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Rural-Bandit Sony didn't buy out 3rd party publishers to force their way into being the market leader like MS is doing. MS paid %50 over the value of the stock to buy them, pretty sure no one else could even approach that amount. There is 0 benefit to Activision or Bethesda being bought by MS. Their games could have gone to GP without being bought out, the entire purpose is to force people who want to continue playing these IP's to buy into Xbox. Starfield, ES, and Redfall are all games that were going to be multiplatform and now aren't, how does having games release for less platforms benefit anyone? The same will eventually happen with Activision if allowed. I care about the industry and this consolidation is not a good trend. There had never been a single publisher bought by a console maker for decades of gaming, now MS has bought two in two years. I'll happily pirate every game I was going to buy from those publishers from now on though. Keep shilling for MS even though all we hear about is how terrible they manage their studios.

No wonder why they have to spend $80 billion to compete.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Rural-Bandit I know right spending $80 billion of your conglomerate money to gatekeep historically 3rd party IP's is just such a great thing that Xbox has done for the industry. I hope Amazon and Google follow suit and buy up major IP's and lock them to their platforms so all the dumb people who praise what MS has been doing can eat crow.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Gran Turismo 7?

mucc

@bozz Where did I say people couldn't be disappointed or show their displeasure? I just said acting like the game is ruined forever is straight up idiotic. Also the patch is FAR from catastrophic. 16 races had their rewards lowered (most of them reduced 20-40%) and 2 increased massively by 1400%. Really the only race that had it's reward reduced by a major amount is Clubman Cup Plus: Goodwood which went from 35k to 12k. Most people playing the game seem to not have a major issue with credits, its those that just want to grind and unlock everything insanely quick are complaining. That and people who don't even have the game. There will be adjustments made, it's not the end of the world.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Fans Fight Controversial Currency Nerfs with PS5, PS4 Farming Exploits

mucc

@SJBUK You're the only one telling the real story.. They just lowered the payouts for some of the fastest races and massively increased the payouts for other longer races. Most people don't even know they actually increased rewards on races and are just jumping on the bandwagon. It's only people who haven't even played the game or those that want to own everything instantly that are blowing this out of proportion.

It's basically the same thing as Assassin's Creed microtransactions where they're there for those that just want to bull rush the game, but if you play the game normally there's no shortage of resources. Plus most people would rather have in game currency used to buy all cars rather than most car games where new cars are 100% locked behind paid DLC.

Re: Sony Acquires Haven Studios, the New Developer Led By Jade Raymond

mucc

@JJ2 This. Just look at how pathetically negative the community is. It's a new studio working on a brand new IP with a staff of industry veterans. You dont need to be massively hyped since we haven't seen anything yet, but if you spin this negatively in any way you're just a sad cynical person.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 User Score the Lowest in PlayStation Exclusive History

mucc

The insane is they barely even touched the game and its getting all this backlash. A few of the fastest races got their credit rewards reduced and some of the longer races got theirs increased yet this is somehow the end of the world? If you play the game normally you won't have any problems with credits. It's the same thing as the Assassin's Creed games that offer microtransactions for the people that just want to bull rush the game, but if you play the game normally and do the sidequests there is absolutely no need to spend your money. You're not meant to unlock the rarest cars in the first hours of playing the game, if you want to be an idiot and spend real money to rush it that's on you. I'm not a fan of always online, but let's be real every device you own is online all the time already. This is so overblown.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

mucc

@Ggroot Do you even know what you're talking about? They changed the rewards on handful of races, some they even INCREASED the rewards for. Unless you were someone that just endlessly grinded the two races that they nerfed around 50% then this barely affected you. Either way that's hardly kneecapping.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

mucc

@BAMozzy So how long should it take to get the rarest, most expensive cars? There are games where it takes longer than 17 hours to get a lousy weapon skin. If you want to spend money and rush everything then the opportunity is there, otherwise you don't have to spend an extra dime. It's like the people who complain about Assassin's Creed and their MT's. I've played every single game since they've added them and never spent any money on them because I played the game like normal and didn't need to. Same thing can be said here. At least you can buy every car with in game currency instead of them being locked behind DLC.

The idiotic thing is people are review bombing the game without even having played it or knowing what the changes are.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

mucc

@BAMozzy They adjusted a handful of race payouts for the fastest races in the game once they noticed people were just grinding them over and over. Also what no one else seem to mention is that they actually buffed a number of the payouts for races too. The game didn't change THAT much from two races having their payouts nerfed by 50%.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

mucc

@lolwhatno No it's not really THAT bad. It's people whining about the cost of the few rarest, most expensive cars in the game because they want them right away. One route someone did the math for said it would take about 13 hours if you just wanted to straight up grind for one of these cars. Is that too much? Probably, but the game just came out and these things are going to be adjusted over time. At least you can buy these cars with in game currency without having to pay an extra cent if you just play the game.

Re: Netflix's Live-Action Resident Evil TV Series Debuts This July

mucc

This sounds absolutely terrible and has nothing to do with the source material aside from names. The casting is such a joke too. You can just tell this started out as an original script and Netflix figured they'd buy the rights to RE to add more interest in it since it's such a massive franchise.

Re: The Quarry Is a $70 PS5 Title from Supermassive Games

mucc

@sajoey It's so cringey people act like an extra $10 is some exorbitant price difference. We were paying $50-$70+ during the SNES-N64 gens on games that were not even 2 hours long, now we have games that we play for dozens if not hundreds of hours and $70 is too much. It's just whining. Inflation is a thing.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's Latest State of Play?

mucc

@get2sammyb I don't agree at all. People expect these things to be E3 level every time which is just idiotic. They literally tell you what to expect and people still don't listen. They're the same thing as Nintendo's Directs. They're not meant for major reveals.

Re: The Main Games at Evo 2022 Have Been Announced

mucc

Evo was massively popular well before any Smash games came to it. Street Fighter has carried it for years and will continue to do so. Even without the Smash nerds it's still going to be the most popular fighting game tournament by a landslide.
