Re: This Is Why PlayStation Wants to Make Smartphone Games

mucc

Good for them, as long as their regular developers waste no resources on mobile gaming then there's nothing to complain about. Hell I hope they take off and make them megabucks so they can reinvest that money into their standard games/studios.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Realistically Expect from PS5, PS4's Game Pass Inspired PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

@Shigurui No there isn't just a 37 add on pass, I'm looking right now on Steam and there's $126 worth of DLC. Obviously some of that is part of stuff that comes from the larger DLC packs but its still way more than 37 euros. There's so much DLC I can't even figure out what is part of the car pass, the expansion pass, and what isn't. Still doesn't change the fact that everything I said was correct about them making everything live service so they make their money in the back end.

Wow amazing list, most of those are so old you can own for less than $20 a piece not to mention they've been on Ps Now, PS Plus, and other subscription services like Humble Bundle. I'm not saying everything is crap, but most of the day one 3rd party stuff it gets is clearly live service stuff and indie crap like the Gunk. Its funny how so many people ***** on PSNow yet the same games show up on both services quite a lot.

Re: Dying Light 2 Dev Promises a Whopping 5 Years of Updates and DLC After Release

mucc

More like 5 years of half assed tacked on weapon bundles like the first game. There's $133 worth of DLC for DL1 and it's all just skins and weapons that should have been included in the base game. This is the horrible future gaming is headed deeper into where you go 7 years without a sequel because you can just milk your one game with cheaply made DLC. Release on PS Now and GP a few times to get people to play and then buy DLC for a game they don't even own and milk it some more.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Realistically Expect from PS5, PS4's Game Pass Inspired PS Plus Reboot?

mucc

I don't want them to add their first party titles to a $15 subscription. MS is turning everything into live service junk so of course they're fine with giving away their first party games for $15 a month. Even their big releases like FH5 launch with $60+ worth of microtransactions and Halo is missing features most previous games launched with, but don't worry there's $1000 worth of microtransactions in the first year alone! No one cares though cause its "fReE". Most of the 3rd party stuff that comes to GP is live service multiplayer crap like B4B, the awful looking new Rainbow Six game, etc.

If you want the same from Sony then say goodbye to great single player titles like GoW and GoT and you'll get more Destruction All Stars crap made to nickel and dime you every way they can.

Re: Reaction: Can We Chill Out About Sony's Commitment to PS4, Please?

mucc

People really have no idea of what they're talking about anymore. Console leaps in hardware are nothing compared to what they used to be. What's the most amazing tech that's been revealed this generation? Fancy lighting and reflections for a huge performance hit. A game isn't going to be horrible if its cross gen on Ps4 and Ps5. We're at the point of massive diminishing returns now. Are Forza Horizon 5 and Miles Morales terrible because they're on last gen consoles too? Is Deathloop somehow better for being a next gen only game? There's nothing impressive tech wise about that game and could have easily been made on Ps4.

People just love to turn everything negative. Gaming is so terrible nowadays and entitled whiny gamers are the main reason for it.

Re: Hands On: God of War PC Is a Great Way to Play a PS4 Classic

mucc

@Col_McCafferty They already said the investment in a port brings back huge returns. They're obviously not going to sell 10 million copies on PC because most people are going to buy the games on Playstation. So no it doesn't devalue their brand, the people who are buying on PC are people who don't buy consoles to begin with.

Re: Nothing to Announce on PSVR2 Backwards Compatibility, Says Sony

mucc

There's no way it will be BC. The tech is much too different, this isn't something easy that can be fixed with emulation like regular backwards compatibility. I mean if you already have PSVR is it really a big deal? Just keep it around for when you want to play old VR games. It's not like you're going to get much money for it at gamestop lol.

Re: George R. R. Martin Thinks Elden Ring Looks 'Incredible'

mucc

I honestly think it looks kinda underwhelming compared to the hype. It's just more Dark Souls with horses and jumping. It doesn't look bad by any means, but I thought this was going to be some brave new direction with their games and instead its just more of the same.

Re: Tencent Buys Back 4 Blood Developer Turtle Rock Studios

mucc

@Cherip-the-Ripper Go ahead and list what I said that is factually incorrect. I corrected him on more things he made up that were 100% incorrect like Sony "wrestling" it's way into the industry buying up and securing exclusivity with the original PS and that Nintendo was somehow more of a video game company since it was built around its video game business when it was a company for nearly a century before it got into video games.

Re: Tencent Buys Back 4 Blood Developer Turtle Rock Studios

mucc

@NEStalgia I'm not going to reply to your entire incorrect, obnoxiously long wall of text but if you think what MS is doing now is anywhere close to what Sony did to get in the industry then you're delusional. First of all Sony tried to create a console with Nintendo, it wasn't until Nintendo screwed them and they decided to make Playstation on their own. Sure the money to start up that division came elsewhere, that isn't my problem which I've already stated. You realize Nintendo didn't start with their video game division either right? They've been a company for over 100 years, so no it's not a company built entirely on its video game business.

Please list these exclusive deals Sony did at the start of Playstation that come anywhere close to buying up an entire major publisher (something that's never been done before) just to force you into their ecosystem? Playstation was hugely popular with developers because N64 still used expensive outdated cartridges and the Saturn was a weak system for 3D gaming which was the trend, not because they were throwing tons of money at people for exclusives. Even the developers they bought were ones that they already worked with and owned the IP's for like Naughty Dog so they weren't essentially trying to strengthen their hold on anything other than keeping their series THEY created going.

Microsoft themselves had barely anything to do with gaming before the Xbox. They didn't even have a dedicated gaming division until 2000 and only had a handful of developers and series going before then. Windows was obviously very popular for gaming, but you don't need to license with MS to put a game on it so they had little involvement other than what they published. Age of Empires came out in '97 and PS1 came out in Dec '94 so not sure how that means anything. Also Minesweeper was distributed on other OS's than Windows and MS themselves had nothing to do with it. I'm stopping here because this is already too long and I've proven my point.

Re: Tencent Buys Back 4 Blood Developer Turtle Rock Studios

mucc

Much rather have them bought by Tencent than MS even if China is garbage. I'm sick of MS using money from outside of the industry to try and brute force control of it. At least Amazon and Google aren't buying up massive 3rd party publishers just to take IP's off other platforms.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn PC Patch Adds DLSS Upscaling Technology

mucc

@anoyonmus Yeah no point considering we all have $1500 gaming rigs that will play the game better than a $500 console right? I spent $900 for my 3080 because I prefer PC gaming for the most part and I use my PC for work, but to act like you're getting the short end of the stick by sticking with console is just idiotic.

Re: Reaction: Merging PS Plus and PS Now Makes Sense, But an Xbox Game Pass Competitor Can't Be Half-Arsed

mucc

Be careful what you wish for. If you want Sony to make all their games live service and full of microtransactions then sure hope for a GP alternative. There's a reason why MS is fine giving away their $60 games for $15 a month when every series they have either has tons of DLC like Forza and Gears or are completely live service like Halo and Sea of Thieves. FH5 just came out and there's already almost $100 of DLC on Steam.

Why not just use Gamefly? It's a few bucks more a month than GP for ANY 2 games a month. Instead of all the crap indie titles that come to GP and waiting for the one decent AAA game you can get any AAA title basically the day it comes out. If I played on console and wanted to rent games then that would be the service that would most appeal to me.

Re: PS Plus December 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

mucc

Considering all the reviews say the campaign and story are boring and the only highlight of Godfall is the combat and gear progression I don't see that big a deal here. I think people expect way too much for what amounts to like $4 a month.

Re: CDPR Still Confident It Can Turn Cyberpunk 2077 Around

mucc

Played it on PC with a 3080 earlier this year and even with solid performance it's just not that amazing of a game. The world is lifeless with absolutely nothing to do and side content is a joke. The combat is good and stays fun due to the large amount of customization and upgrades though. The story is actually really good too. It's a solid first entry into a series, but there's so many important issues with the game that have nothing to do with performance that really bog it down. It's definitely worth playing and I can see the sequel being something great.

Re: Japanese Publisher Implies PlayStation Audience Is Transitioning to PC

mucc

So many of you who claim Sony is discouraging people from buying consoles by putting their first party games on PC are just so factually incorrect and is just fanboy cringe. MS is doing better than ever hardware and software wise and they put their first party stuff on PC day 1. Sony has ported what? Like 3 games so far that are a number of years old to PC and have confirmed the return on investment is massive. These PC players weren't going to buy a console to begin with. It hurts no one in the end as if you want a cheap experience you get a console and if you want higher end you go for a PC.

Re: Japanese Publisher Implies PlayStation Audience Is Transitioning to PC

mucc

@Victor_Meldrew It makes perfect sense. Standard sit in place consoles don't sell in Japan anymore. Just look at how much PS consoles have dwindled in Japan each generation. Yes Switch is a console, but it's a handheld console which makes it mobile. Mobile gaming dominates Japan and has so for a number of years now.

Re: Japanese Publisher Implies PlayStation Audience Is Transitioning to PC

mucc

You framed the story as if its a Sony executive saying this when it's an unnamed executive from a top Japanese Publisher. Japan doesn't care about consoles, end of story. Even the Wii U sold horribly there. The only reason why Switch is popular is because it's handheld. It doesn't really matter though considering Europe and NA are buying games at an insane rate. As long as Japanese developers stick around I'm fine with this.

Re: Rumour: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Is Making the Jump to PC

mucc

@zebric21 Switch has been the best selling console in the world the last 3 years and its software has been topping the charts ever since it came out. This Sony panic thing you're saying makes absolutely no sense. Playstation is literally having its best year ever revenue/profit wise.

Re: Talking Point: Did You Enjoy Sony's Latest State of Play Livestream?

mucc

@KundaliniRising333 I don't get replies like this. Sony just put out a ton of first party games in its first year and just because the game they wanted for this Holiday got delayed they're phoning it in? Early next year is absolutely stacked already. Microsoft is literally going an entire year without a new first party game when they finally release FH5. Games take a long time to make and sometimes delays don't work out.

Re: Rumour: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Is Making the Jump to PC

mucc

@zebric21 That is just factually incorrect. They had spots 6, 8, and 9 in the NPD last month. Not to mention the vast majority of 3rd party multiplatform sales are Ps4/Ps5. The second biggest selling game of the year so far RE Village has sold 49% of all copies on Ps5.

Re: Rumour: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Is Making the Jump to PC

mucc

@IonMagi What? They just had a Ps5 event where they showed multiple Ps4/Ps5 only games and one game going to PC/Ps5, then the GoW PC announcement. How is that showing more attention to PC? Some of you just complain to complain. Why does it matter if a game comes to PC? If you're not on PC now then chances are some Sony games coming to PC isn't going to change that considering the cost of PC components, no physical media, ease of use, etc. I only PC game because I will gladly pay the premium and I work with computers, but to those of you who just want a cheap game console the benefits probably aren't worth it.

Are Microsoft's games all of a sudden worse because they're day 1 PC releases? Absolutely not. It's like you just want to feel special about being the only one who has access to something.

Re: GTA 3 Remaster Will Be Playable As Part of PS Now

mucc

@nessisonett It's expected considering you're also paying much more for GP. Psnow is only $60 for a year and GP is double that without doing one of those loopholes. I absolutely think they should upgrade it to Ps5 versions, but it's most likely going to come at a cost increase. So you can't have everything.

Re: PS4 Exclusive God of War Releasing on PC in January

mucc

How is this a negative to anyone? You choose a $500 easy to use box, I choose a $1500+ customized rig. I love all the people who say it makes Playstation hardware pointless, then they look at the prices of GPU's and go right back to their console. I mean ***** some of you had a hard time putting in the Ps5's secondary SSD, do you really want to get into PC gaming?

Re: Sony Allegedly Funding Kojima Productions Silent Hill Game

mucc

Not sure why people are acting like this is impossible. We already know Konami is lending out their IP's so with Sony doing all the negotiations and funding the game there's no reason why Kojima wouldn't want to be involved. Months back he was talking about making the scariest game ever too.
