Re: There'll Be No Ray Tracing in Far Cry 6 on PS5

mucc

AMD Ray Tracing tech is just not very good and unfortunately the new consoles are stuck with their first gen Ray Tracing hardware. Even their high end GPU's get obliterated by Nvidia's similar models when it comes to Ray Tracing. You can't expect 4k 60fps with Ray Tracing for $500 when a $800 Nvidia GPU with a $400+ CPU can't even produce that performance for most games.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation Showcase 2021 Was Good, But Not Good Enough

mucc

I love all the people whining about how Sony has no big AAA games this holiday and are praising Xbox that has two. Those are literally the first exclusive first party games they're releasing in the entire lifespan of their new console so far and they're not even exclusive to the new consoles. This holiday has enough big games coming and a ton more early next year. Ps5 has Horizon, GT7, Forspoken, and Ghostwire in the first 6 months alone of 2022 yet some insane people are saying "everything they showed is years away". Christ some of you will never be satisfied.

Re: Talking Point: Did PlayStation Showcase 2021 Deliver on the Hype?

mucc

@MaccaMUFC Yeah they're finally releasing first party games, a year after their console released and both games are on old consoles. For Ps5 the rest of the year you has Kena, Deathloop, and whatever big 3rd party games. 2022 you have Horizon, GT7, and Forspoken to start the year out in a the first 5 months alone. That's insane.

Re: PS5 Revision Teardown Prompts Cooling Concerns

mucc

Both of these idiots clearly know nothing about what they're talking about. They're basing their entire statement off the fact that they removed some of the heatsink and the exhaust is on average 3 degrees hotter. This means absolutely nothing. The larger heatsink could have been restricting airflow and the hotter air is now getting out of the console faster. Also from comparing the two most of what was removed was just plating below the heatsink. The only way to know for sure is to test internal thermals and I'd bet these two would even screw that up. Either way 3 degrees is nothing to be worried about.

Re: Sony Investing in External Japanese Development Group

mucc

People shouldn't miss when Sony was a Japanese company, you should miss when Japan actually cared about non mobile gaming. If Japan still bought console games then Sony would still be a Japanese company, you have to adapt to the market. Even the Wii U sold terribly in Japan where Nintendo is adored because it was just a standard console. Believe me I absolutely miss the Ps1-Ps2 days when there were so many incredible Japanese developers and games, but you can't really blame Sony for this changing. Japanese culture just seems to only care about mobile gaming now which is just depressing.

Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Coming This November for PS5, PS4

mucc

This announcement is filled with incorrect information on basically every site. To clarify the Anniversary Edition is NOT free and requires a paid upgrade from the Special Edition. However those who have the Special Edition will get a free update with 3 pieces of specific Creation Club content as well as fidelity upgrades for the new consoles. The Anniversary Edition contains a ton more Creation Club content and will cost money to upgrade to it from the Special Edition.

Re: We're Nearing a Year Since the Last Major PlayStation Press Conference

mucc

We already know of a ton of games scheduled for 2022. GoW2, FF16, GT, and most likely Horizon 2 are all "exclusives". This site acts like they have nothing being worked on. Having those 4 games alone is an incredible year and there's probably more. I think the only people who are "antsy" is websites like this that need clicks to pay their bills.

Re: Best PS5 SSD: Compatible M.2 SSD Storage Expansion for PS5

mucc

@Z390 It really is simple dude. You just need a drive with 5500mb/s read speeds. There's already been numerous people testing a variety of different SSD's and even much slower than recommended ones and they worked completely fine aside from slightly slower load times. MS's proprietary SSD is $200 on sale and if they let you use any standard 2400mbs SSD then you would be paying around $100 for the same amount of storage. Being able to use any 3rd party drive that meets requirements is vastly superior and prices will drop drastically due to competition.

Re: Ariana Grande Rocks Our World in Epic Fortnite Concert

mucc

@ILikeStake Agreed I don't see what's so impressive about these. The level design is somewhat neat but it's just a big dumb NPC with a couple animations and her standard radio tracks playing in the background. These would be way more interesting if it actually had live performances/singing.

Re: Seagate FireCuda 530 Is the First Third-Party SSD Compatible with PS5

mucc

@The_New_Butler You're literally making your entire argument off this being a bad decision off one approved drive. It's also not required to have a heatsink, however there are dozens of $10 heatsinks on Amazon that are compatible and do fit. Once again still being cheaper. Speed absolutely makes a difference. Yes on PC's in real world settings its marginal, but these consoles were built for SSD technology and are basically the only thing more advanced than what's on PC nowadays.

Re: Seagate FireCuda 530 Is the First Third-Party SSD Compatible with PS5

mucc

To people trying to compare the price to the Series S/X expansion card keep in mind that thing is proprietary junk that runs at less than half the speed as this one mentioned SSD. Not to mention go look at the Amazon reviews and you'll see hundreds of complaints about the thing failing. Non proprietary tech is ALWAYS superior for things like this. And installing an SSD should take you no longer than 10 minutes even if you have no knowledge of computers. There will be 500 videos on Youtube showing you exactly what to do.

Also Seagate has always been awful so I'd avoid their hardware like the plague. If money isn't an obstacle always go for Samsung SSD's, otherwise Sabrent, WD, and Crucial are all solid.

Re: Sony Confirms Nixxes Purchase Will Aid Future PC Ports

mucc

I love how so many people mad at this just say they'll go PC, then they look at how much a GPU costs and they remember why they console game. I can afford it so I only PC game, but how many of you are willing to pay $600+ for just one part of a PC to have the same or better performance as a $500 console?

Re: Former Sony Boss Fearful of Industry Consolidation

mucc

@Shstrick The fact that people even try to compare what MS does to Sony is laughable. Every studio Sony has purchased they've worked nearly independently with for years and hasn't taken games off other platforms. Meanwhile with MS they're taking over a dozen 3rd party series away from other platforms. It's just incomparable. Sony already owned the IPs for all the games made by their studio purchases. MS bought these studios FOR their IPs.

Re: Jim Ryan Says Players Only Remember the Best Games

mucc

This site loves to quote this guy out of context just to rile up the nerds. He was explaining that its better to take as much time as possible on a game so it's perfect rather than rush it and have it not as good. And the quote about people only remembering the best games is true. If you think of the best games you've ever played and think fondly of the vast majority are going to be games widely considered to be great.

Re: After E3 2021 No Show, Sony's Seemingly Skipping Gamescom As Well

mucc

First of all they just had a small event and said more news for their first party games is coming soon. Some of you are such man children when it comes to gaming news and act like they haven't showed anything at all. We already know of a ton of games in development and plenty of stuff coming this year. Relax. Nintendo, Square, Capcom, and plenty of other big studios aren't at Gamescom this year either. Plus how many first party games have they released in the last 8 months? Like 5? You people act like they haven't released a game in years.

Re: Warner Bros Allegedly Looking to Offload NetherRealm, TT Games

mucc

@Ralizah You can spin it whichever way you want but the reality is buying out a 3rd party publisher to take games off other platforms isn't beneficial to consumers in any way. MS doesn't have to buy publishers to have their games on Gamepass. it is absolutely idiotic to try and say that a temporary exclusivity deal is somehow worse than permanently not releasing on other platforms just because something will come day one to Gamepass. You're acting as if these huge buyouts are good solely because of Gamepass which is ridiculous. You realize you pay for Gamepass right? It's not free.

Your 3rd paragraph makes no sense, everything either company does is investing in the future of their platform. MS is literally doing the same thing and worse by making it permanent. But once again all's well because durr Gamepass durr right? So if Sony did temporary exclusive deals and put them on PS Now would that be better since its cheaper to rent games?

Finally don't even try to compare Sony or even Nintendo's developer acquisitions to what MS is doing. Basically every studio either of the former two have purchased they've already owned the IP's for or they were primarily 2nd party studios to begin with so they weren't taking anything away from other platforms. That is nothing like buying up a giant 3rd party publisher and all of their IP's. They absolutely are trying to monopolize the industry. It's the entire reason why they're building up Gamepass and taking huge losses for now so they can get tons of subscribers and if it does become the biggest platform in gaming, now everything basically runs through them.

Re: Warner Bros Allegedly Looking to Offload NetherRealm, TT Games

mucc

@Ralizah So just because they're trying to make gamepass more attractive its a good thing they're going out and buying up giant 3rd party publishers and any developer they can get their hands on solely to keep these games off other platforms? Guess what, those timed exclusive deals Sony does is the exact same appeal. They're trying to get you into their ecosystem. I love how people like you act like timed exclusivity is evil yet buying up an entire publisher with all their IP's is somehow better when at least with timed exclusivity you will be able to play games on other platforms. Why do fanboys pretend Sony is the only one doing these deals anyway? MS are the ones who started it during the 360 gen with GTA 4 DLC, CoD DLC, etc. and they still do it just as often as Sony does today with games like The Medium, Stalker 2, etc. Not to mention MS is using billions gained from outside the games industry to try and slowly monopolize it. Would you like it if Google bought Take Two and made GTA6 Stadia exclusive? I mean they're just trying to widen the appeal of Stadia right?

Also no Bethesda has not worked closely with MS for generations. Morrowind is the only major console game they made that never went to a PS platform and that's because the Ps2 was too weak. You don't work with MS when you make a PC game, there's no licensing required with Windows unlike consoles.

Re: Warner Bros Allegedly Looking to Offload NetherRealm, TT Games

mucc

The interesting thing is WB will still own the MK/Lego license so even if one of the big 3 were to buy up either studio I highly doubt they would allow their license to be used exclusively for their platform. They would want every penny they can get from letting them use their license and force a move like MLB did with The Show.

Re: Reaction: It's Time to Accept We Can't Predict PlayStation Anymore

mucc

@LastSaneManOnEarth Where did you learn how to read? He says nothing about weighing against the $10 billion purchase. You literally said something not even reported in the article. Do you even understand revenue and profit? It has NOT officially recorded a profit yet, END of story. You realize there's shareholder meetings where they announce these things right? So no it's not raking in billions. MS is banking on the future that it will have 60+ million subscribers and then it will possibly make lots of money. But at the end of the day they have to pay tons of money to 3rd parties to get games on the service and games like Starfied cost well over $100 million so it takes time to recoup costs.
@BleachedSmiles Keep talking sweetheart. Believe what you want I don't care, but you're not believing in reality. Oh they definitely showed those games too soon, however at least they've released something. MS won't even have its first first party game out until November. Why even come to a PS site if you hate the brand?

Re: Reaction: It's Time to Accept We Can't Predict PlayStation Anymore

mucc

@Bleachedsmiles I'm talking about the other article. It's covered to death by everyone but of course you don't believe it. I don't care about what their profit is, I'm telling you reality of their business model. https://segmentnext.com/2021/05/06/xbox-game-pass-profits/

Funny it hasn't impacted Sony that much so far. There's a difference between announcing things too early and delaying to make them better.

Re: Reaction: It's Time to Accept We Can't Predict PlayStation Anymore

mucc

@Bleachedsmiles Oh look its Negative Nancy. They'll make more money off the 30% of digital sales than they paid for timed exclusivity. The ***** does it matter that MS owns them? It's a major release in September. Should Sony stop advertising FF7 because they don't own that game either? I guess MS promoting the new Battlefield game is just a waste of money too right?

Re: State of Play Livestream Confirmed for Thursday, Featuring Deathloop

mucc

Jesus gamers are so entitled nowadays. Sony just released a major game in June and have more coming this year yet they somehow have nothing to show. Yes that's it, a number of first party games since last Nov and no more are being developed. Ps5 production is shut down too, end of the line baby.
Meanwhile MS showed a bunch of stuff coming 1-3 years down the line and won't even have a first party title out until November. Do you really want them to continue what they did during the Ps4 days and show games 3 years out?

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

mucc

@Bleachedsmiles I love how you bring up timed exclusivity and 3rd party exclusivity as if Sony is the only one doing it. Xbox's Series biggest exclusive game so far is literally a 3rd party timed exclusive, lets not talk about Stalker 2 and the plethora of other "console launch exclusives" though right? Also you're dense if you think playing games 6-12 months later is somehow WORSE than never being able to play something.

Gamepass is still losing money, you have no idea of what you're talking about. Tom Warren has said this as recently as the end of May. MS has never even officially said it makes them money, I wonder why? Do you honestly think offering $3 for 3 months is going to make their service money when they're going to be launching games with budgets over $100 million? They've said numerous times they're playing the long game and are willing to lose for the future. A future where most people just pay a set fee a month will absolutely impact how games are made. You think it's bad now with seasons, microtransactions, and live service games? Just wait for the future.

And there in line is the problem with 3rd party publishers. You want everything to go through MS and Gamepass which they'll make pennies compared to before. If you don't think that impacts games as a whole you don't understand the business.

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

mucc

@Retro1994 *****. Microsoft has done nothing good for the industry. Sega and Sony already had online play planned, they just didn't charge money for it so they had much less resources to work with which is why their services were barebones. You would be paying for online play with zero bonuses if it weren't for Sony. I never said Sony or even Nintendo are some godsend to gaming, but at least they're not using billions of dollars gained from outside of the gaming industry to brute force control of it. Yes what a great company that buys up giant 3rd party publishers just to take games off of other platforms!

You bring up their service as if they're doing it to save you money, news flash they're not. Lol@ "guts" to do this. They're taking huge losses now so they can gain control of the industry. The reality is MS is the only one who can afford to do this since they make so much money from the rest of the company and once they have the control they want they'll be able to dictate the industry. If Xbox becomes the lead platform and people just stick to Gamepass and stop buying as many games then it will destroy 3rd party publishers. The reason why no one else has done this yet is because it's not affordable.

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

mucc

While I believe Sony needs pushback for stuff like this, it's sad to see so many people talking about going with MS. I'd much rather have Sony be dumb with their re-releases than support a company that purposely buys out giant 3rd party publishers to keep games off other platforms. Not to mention how they're basically tanking their profits just so they can slowly try and monopolize gaming and have everything go through them. The day MS becomes the leader in gaming is when it dies for good.

Re: Reaction: Messy Ghost of Tsushima Upgrade Makes PS5 for the Payers

mucc

I don't think there's a single Sammy article where he doesn't mention Gamepass. It just makes me laugh how you laud its incredible value when you own NOTHING. At the end of the day you'll be paying hundreds of dollars for temporary games other than first party stuff, which you lose if you don't resub. I'll gladly wait for a sale rather than pay $15 to rent something for a few months.
