Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the recently released Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, are both PlayStation exclusive titles — the former being on PS4, and the latter being on PS5. However, it's always been clear that there's some kind of timed exclusivity deal in place between Sony and Square Enix, meaning that Remake is destined other platforms at some point down the line.
And it looks like, at least for now, PC is one of those platforms. A backend listing for Final Fantasy VII Remake has been uncovered on the Epic Games Store, suggesting that it's happening in the relatively near future.
As Gematsu reports, it should be noted that the latest trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade included small print that pegged the game for at least six months of PS5 exclusivity. Going by that, this supposed PC version could arrive as early as 10th December, 2021.

Not a Sony Studio developed game so haven't got a problem with this, heck it's strange to me why they would spend money making this a timed exclusive in the first place. Seems a waste of money to me.
So consoles are battling each other for exclusives whilst PC is in the middle winning. Ridiculous!
Expect the same with FF16. 😉
No issue with this.
I imagine it will hit Xbox at some point as well.
Although I won't be shifting platform to play the series elsewhere.
FF16 is 12 month timed exclusive and no doubt FF7 Part 2 will be as well, so at the moment, PS5 is the best place to play FF games.
@Col_McCafferty Why? Many fans won't wait till it releases on other plattforms and just buy it for PS. Some people may even have bought a PS4 just for this game (you have to consider that it was already announced in 2015 as a timed-exclusive, probably not many would have thought it would take 5 years to release)
Although I'd assume it would have sold most on PS even if it released on PS4, XBox and PC at the same time
Will this ever see the light of day on Xbox?
Of course it'd be on EGS. From timed exclusivity on console to timed exclusivity on PC.
@Snake_V5 probably be on game pass at some point
Let us see how much they charge pc players. I'd bet my left nut that it's cheaper, even though they will get better performance and resolution than ps5.
Alan Wake Remastered also appeared in the listing.
Why the hell was it exclusive in the first place?
@EVIL-C Didn't you hear that 16 is timed? Pretty sure it's confirmed officially too.
It’s “Timed Exclusive” nothing to be surprised about. It’s expected idk why ppl are freaking about it.
@EVIL-C FF16 was literally running on Pc at a playstation event. and they showed it in the trailer again lol
@Matej This is the truly big news that should be garnered from the listing. Hope to see Alan Wake on PS5, probably my favorite at the time 360 exclusive.
Nice to see it on PC but hopefully it gets a Steam version soon. I know a lot of people that will be very happy about this!
@somnambulance I absolutely loved Control so since I finally have a laptop that can run Alan Wake (my old one managed to do like 10fps) I gave it a go. Finished it about a month ago and really enjoyed it. Can't wait for sequel of any of these two.
Removed - current gen piracy/emulation
@Loftimus Oh you think it will be cheaper yh? Epic game store were charging 200 quid for the Kingdom Hearts collection when it was like 50 for the ps4 version lool.
Final fantasy 7 remake is a game that should be on all platforms.
Just finished intergrade and it was dope. Somebody tell squareenix to make fort condor into a mobile game.
I don't care, please give me some more info on XVI and 7R part 2
"However, it's always been clear that there's some kind of timed exclusivity deal"
Yes it has. This article can be summarised in 5 words: "The inevitable is happening. Probably"
@Col_McCafferty "Seems a waste of money to me."
It's transcended being a waste of money 😐 they seem to be putting more time, money and effort in getting time exclusives than getting actual exclusives from 3rd party studios like the old days
@mariomaster96 Well, more fool them.
Buying a console, any console, just to play one game is a bit sad.
@Spyroescape Entitled.
@rachetmarvel Sony helped fund the game in exchange for timed exclusivity.
@Loftimus Epic Games tend to charge more or less the same Price as other Platforms or close to it. I have an Epic account but I prefer Steam and GOG by a mile.
@Spyroescape Just thought of that now myself.
This was always a time exclusive just like MH:Rise.
PC does not count anymore in the "Console Exclusive" nonsense - and that is a good thing.
Already have a bunch of games on EGS - It works fine. EGS in the same column as having to buy a $300-500 new hardware to play a game. Most people will just instal EGS... like they will instal UPLAY to play FarCry6 on PC.
Considering Epic is also exclusively carrying the Kingdom Hearts games I bet they probably used that leverage to moneyhat this as well
Although it looks like it's just the vanilla version on PS4 without the Intergrade upgrades or additional content
A better spin on this story is that Alan Wake Remastered was spotted in the listing and hopefully heading to multiple platforms in a publishing deal with Epic Games. Not "this game that was always timed exclusive ain't exclusive no mo' "
@AliceInChains How am I entitled?
@Spyroescape You say you’ll torrent it. How is that not obvious. If you weren’t you’d just wait until it was available elsewhere. I can’t get something on the client I want so it’s my right to steal it. Alright then, entitled. But you do you.
PS before you say how you’ll buy it at a later date to support the developers. Don’t forgot that Epic pay the bigger cut back to the developers.
@AliceInChains "Don’t forgot that Epic pay the bigger cut back to the developers."
I don't reward bad behaviour. Square could have very easily rejected this timed exclusive bs but nah.
Ps4 - Timed Exclusive
Ps5 - Timed Exclusive
EGS - Timed Exclusive
At some point, your just gonna have to put your foot down.
@Spyroescape Also Kingdom Hearts. Except that looks like it's actually not coming to Steam at all based on how the developers worded the announcement
@Spyroescape seriously? Did you get a free monitor with it?
The headline is completely wrong. It's not spotted on the Epic Store, files related to the game have been spotted in the Epic database. It's also been there since 2020. Obviously the game will come to Epic and other platforms eventually, but how this article frames the story is incorrect.
@Matej Did anything else show up in the listing? Awesome news if true though, I beat Alan Wake but would happily re-play it again.
