@get2sammyb So you wrote an article without knowing nothing about the deal behind the scenes yet blaming Sony for it anyway. Great journalism there! Clearly MLB made Sony take the games multiplatform and is in control of publishing on the other consoles. MLB gave them an ultimatum, what do you expect Sony to do? Just drop their MLB series they've been developing for years? Someone else would just develop the games and Sony would still lose out. The constant hysteria here is a joke.
@awp69 Well that's just the thing. There were a lot of loopholes people were using to get dirt cheap subscriptions. It seems like they've closed most of them. I have an old XBL account from the 360 days so I plan on seeing if I can get it for $1 or something, but I'll never pay a full $15 a month to rent games. I'd rather wait for Steam sales for something not worth full price.
@Juanalf If you're paying $15 a month for something then the service it provides you isn't free. Also people have to remember here you don't keep these games, they leave after a certain amount of time and if you want to keep playing you need to buy it for more money.
@solocapers That's it and its going to ruin the industry. Everything is going to be long term live service ***** now with seasons and battle passes to keep people subscribed. Sony said they had big news for PSNow a few months back and they're most likely going to do the same thing.
@AdamNovice Agreed, I'm done with this site. I love how they state that it's "free". You're paying $15 a month to RENT games, it's not free. It's funny how everyone made a big deal about not being able to buy games anymore on a 14 year old system yet a rental system where you own nothing and everything 3rd party eventually leaves the subscription is some gods gift to gamers.
Lol this is only because Sony is a Japanese company. Amazon, Google, Facebook, and Microsoft can do whatever they want no matter how badly they dictate their industry's as long as the money goes through the US.
Lol are people really trying to make a big deal out of dead consoles stores being taken down? You'll most likely be able to still download purchased games. The reality is people need to move on or make sure they only buy physical. The ps3 is 14 years old now. How often do you even use the store on a 14 year old console?
RE2 '98 will probably always be the best survival horror game of all time. The story and characters were perfect, it has the best pacing of any survival horror game ever made, and it's just such a fun, perfectly made game. The A/B scenarios gave the game just the right amount of content to make replaying the game fresh.
RE2make is absolutely fantastic, but I still prefer the original since they didn't fully remake the game with the proper scenarios. The original Birkin transformation/attack scene is still one of the most incredible cutscenes in gaming and absolutely blew me away as a kid.
By the time any of their major games come out the graphics card market should be much better so if I advise most people to just get a decent PC if you want these games so much. It's such a better investment than an Xbox.
@Dezzy70 That is such an idiotic comparison. Sony has only purchased studios that were either 2nd party or really only made Playstation exclusive games. Naughty Dog, Guerilla, Insomniac, etc are all studios that made 90%+ of their games only for Playstation to begin with. That's completely different than a massive 3rd party publisher that makes countless games for every platform.
@TheFrenchiestFry Timed exclusivity is completely different than buying an entire major 3rd party publisher because you can't make any decent games with your own first party studios. It amazes me that dumb people think this is good because 'durr gamepass cheap durrr". Microsoft has a terrible history of buying out the competition to overtake an industry and this is the start. If you think this isn't going to impact the quality and style of games Bethesda releases you're dreaming.
It's been on Ps4 for years and no one has noticed it, but of course it's a headline now so all the morons have to make a big deal out of it confusing it with its PC DRM counterpart. Its amazing how so much of the Playstation community are misinformed goons that twist everything negatively and just blame Jim Ryan.
I mean what did people expect for a showing of all 2021 games? They could have showed some AAA games that are releasing in 2-3 years to add hype but then people would just complain about waiting so long. It was an ok showing especially considering everything shown is coming this year. Plus everyone keeps the major announcements for E3 time anyway.
@jesuslopez Lol you mean Xbox is using big daddy Gates money to buy up the competition. They have done nothing great this or last gen aside from use MS's money to buy every 3rd party studio that wasn't under a big publisher and even a major publisher themselves. Pretty easy to be successful when you have virtually unlimited funding.
@thefourfoldroot What backlash? Less than 100 people on a forum is "backlash"? That's really going to show them. How many of SJ titles have you bought the last 10 years?
People talk like this is still the Ps2 days where Japan actually cared about console gaming and there were major Japanese games coming out left and right. Those days are long gone and the reason for it is Japan and their love of portable gaming. There's no point making Japanese centric games when the audience isn't even there.
Its funny so many people are mad about this yet no one bought Studio Japan titles. Yes things like Gravity Rush could have been marketed better but it still wouldn't have helped sales much. They haven't created a major game in years and mostly just helped develop other games. As long as Capcom and Square make games for Playstation there will be plenty of great Japanese titles.

Re: Sony Game MLB The Show 21 Will Be Free with Game Pass on Xbox, Full-Price on PS5, PS4
@Medic_Alert I know that, so add that in too. Let's just state the facts here. It's a great deal if you don't like to own games.
Re: Sony Game MLB The Show 21 Will Be Free with Game Pass on Xbox, Full-Price on PS5, PS4
@get2sammyb You're still not telling the full story. It's $70 to keep on one and $15 a month to rent for the other.
Re: Sony Game MLB The Show 21 Will Be Free with Game Pass on Xbox, Full-Price on PS5, PS4
@BamBamBaklava89 They're fine tanking an industry if that means they can eventually control it.

@PapaGlitch So paying $15 a month every month is somehow nothing and $70 is?
Re: Sony Game MLB The Show 21 Will Be Free with Game Pass on Xbox, Full-Price on PS5, PS4
@Voltan 4 months for major titles, longer for indie crap. First party stuff stays, everything else doesnt.

Re: Sony to Continue Investing in Dreams Developer Media Molecule
I'd like to see them make a AAA game instead of making LBP/Dreams style games.

Re: Sony Must Communicate Its Plans for PS3, PS Vita, and PSP
@jorel262 no you cant play all of Xbox games on their newer consoles. Less than 30% of total OG Xbox and 360 games are BC.
