Thanks everyone ☺️ I didn't realise it was the PS4 that was the problem not the vr unit itself. Good to know the extra horsepower will help make things look nicer.
I've now ordered a camera adapter so I can use the darn thing when I get my new toy!
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the updated visuals be based on the screens of the vr unit itself rather than the game? I know the PS4 pro have a small bump in visuals but the resolution of the screens is quite low... or am I missing something?
It's a shame Sony are doing this. The legacy console stores are all awful (or in the case of psp, non-existant). The Web app while clunky, was a godsend for those random purchases for the days I felt like going retro.

Just how close are you to earning that rare Gold Trophy?

@Octane I'm one of those people. Happy to be proven wrong.
I'm impressed that not only is the stand included it comes with a space to store the screw when horizontal and the PS5's rubber cover when vertical. That's some clever shizz.
The PS5 version looks vastly improved however I find something is still off with it. I think it's the actual animations. When one player (I don't follow basketball so have no idea who) celebrates by shouting, the mouth movement looks unnatural.
The movement of the players feet looks off as well, like they're not touching the floor.
I don't know if its just because it's hard to animate but the closer we get to absolute realism in characters, the more noticeable animations become when not acting like they would in the real world.
Every generation a new studio comes into the limelight and takes on the RPG genre. Arguably, CD Projekt Red are the ones of this generation. In the PS3 days it was Bioware. I'm excited to see who takes the next gen tech and smashes it out of the park.
@Matroska yeah, I got "restart in Japan". I've read elsewhere that puyo puyo champions is also called puyo eSports in Japan so perhaps it could also be a mid-size downloadable game. Guess we'll just have to wait and find out!
Definitely a reboot to the series but I don't know if I'm mistranslating this but it seems Japanese only for the time being which leads me to believe it might be a return to the arcades before a console release.
@nessisonett to be honest, both companies are taking the mick with their storage expansion options. $220 is nearly a new console for additional storage, especially with the higher cost of games and that the size of games is staying roughly the same.
I get Sony are chasing the PC standard but to me, it just shows that the next generation is under baked and is at least a year too early. I can see a lot of consumers who can't afford the jump missing out. It wouldn't surprise me if we have a sell out launch period but a massive drop off.
@jmac1686 I'd agree with you, you never got enhancements from PS1 to PS2. The problem is that Sony and Microsoft have set the president that games will get free upgrades. Having to pay for this game is the exception of the rule which is why people are annoyed.
Last night's presentation took me from a day one to a 2021 at the earliest. Having Sackboy and Spider-Man as PS4 games with a free upgrade sealed the deal.
I'll probably pull the trigger by the end of next year or when FFXVI comes out. Hopefully it'll be in black by then.
@Gremio108 a few of them were monthly games; Ratchet, Bloodborne & Arkham definitely were. Uncharted 4 was one I think but Sony also gave it away when lockdowns started happening this year.
Basically, expect everything from the current PlayStation Hits line up to eventually find it's way to this.
Twitter isn't the be-all and end-all of popular opinion and unmoderated social media platforms are generally very toxic places to go for small minorities with loud voices.
I don't think this will have: A) any impact on Sony (except the poor sod running their social accounts) or it's bottom line. B) will force their hand. They've been following the Sony playbook step by step and will announce all details when they're ready.
I'm still all up for the full PS5 experience, but Series S has thrown a spanner in the works purely for Gamepass.
On paper, ditching psplus and paying £15 per month to play brand new releases is mighty tempting but I'll wait to see how good the thing performs before deciding.
That's pretty bad it's under dlc and movies. I get that Sony will present search results for popular games but for it to be hidden under content that isn't video games is awful.
Why don't companies have a calendar list of games releasing in that week? Netflix have just implemented something similar so you can select things to go into your list when it goes live and it's a god send.
@WanderingHunter The Embracer group was Nordic games a few years back so Sweden.
It's mental to think that as an average C-tier publisher that produced mainly shovelware on the Wii, then buying most of THQ's assets and carefully managing them back to life, they'd become an alright B-tier producer and developer of games. Buying Deep Silver also helped.
I'm resi-eviled out this generation, which is surprising since Capcom have only managed one new entry in the mainline series, yet there have been 11 or so releases since the PS4 came out.
It was okay. Nothing properly new or exciting, a few good dives into some ok looking games, Crash looks amazing but nothing else apart from that did it for me. I wish Godfall would stop getting this much attention, it's not that it looks bad or anything - just show something different, it's been at every show/event Sony have done since announcing the thing!
Playstation has more appealing games for me so I'm sticking with the PS5.
I've never owned an Xbox. After this showcase, while the games look interesting, I probably still won't own one unless they did an all digital edition. I'd just get that and an Gamepass and I'd never have to buy a game for the system.
Multiplayer doesn't both me too much so I'm just paying for the monthly games anyway. If they removed that element and bundled in is Now. Then that would be perfect for me.
There's a lot of talk about studios being bought, or invested in, by publishers at the moment. I hope we don't see a Hollywood situation where there's only 3 big players controlling most of the content.
I was expecting a black case to tie in with 4k UHD Discs, much like how I assumed the blue PS4 boxes were for Blu-ray and the PS2 boxes went black when a dvd disc was used.
Not sure what happened with the PS3 cases but I'm sure that's the sole reason people didn't initially buy the console 😉
It is great news, no doubt. But I'm wondering if too much time is being spent on the subject. This is only an issue while there is that small transition period which at most is going to be 8 months. Except for FIFA which will undoubtedly keep releasing on the PS4 until the end of days.
Shouldn't the companies be trying to convince the public that yes backwards compatibility is there but the shift and cost is worth investing in? I think that this message is getting a bit lost while there's all the talk of free cross gen upgrades.
Always happens when new consoles launch as Devs try to recoup costs. They'll be back to normal prices when people get over the hype or when the first sales start creeping in after Christmas. Plus, NBA 2k20 was £2.50 on the switch a couple of weeks ago so you know the price won't hold 😂
Depends on the game, setting, story and world building for me. I play a little bit of everything so I don't look at length of a campaign. Games could of be 5 minutes or 100 hours, so long as they are good in my eyes I'm not so fussed. ☺️

PS5 physical release is coming out next year.

Fun stat: If it is the 13th, that means it would have been 2 days shy of the ps4's 7th birthday.
Re: PS5 Price and Release Date Rumour Is Making Headlines in Japan
£100 for a 4k blu ray player is there or there abouts the cost of a standalone so would've expected the reduction to be about £50-60.
The prices are roughly what a new console will cost so this could be both fake and correct at the same time.
Still, nothing is confirmed until Sony says it is.

@roe you're right RE 4 has been on every platform since it's release, but so has 0-6. The exception being zero as that didn't make it to the PS2/Xbox.
Not sure why 6 is so popular but 5 was the return of Chris and 7 is completely different.
