Some of Sony's first party studios have been busy updating PlayStation 4's exclusives with PS5 in mind. Games like Days Gone, for example, look and play even better on the new system thanks to beefy patches, and it seems like PlayStation VR titles are getting in on the action too.
Blood & Truth, the bombastic action adventure from London Studio, has received an update that will ensure it runs even better when played on PS5 via backwards compatibility.
As you can see from these tweets, the PSVR exclusive will really benefit from PS5's extra grunt. Higher resolution, up to 90 frames per second performance, and more detailed assets and textures — it seems this will be the best way to play the game.
Of course, it's worth remembering that PSVR does not work with PS5's new HD Camera. You'll need to use your PS4's camera, as well as a special adaptor that Sony is giving out for free. Still, once you have it all set up, at least you'll be able to enjoy Blood & Truth with enhanced visuals.
Will you be playing this game again on PS5? Tell us the truth in the comments section below.

This surprises me, I wasn’t expecting any PS5 enhancements for PSVR games... this gives me hope for VR2
This is great news hopefully 3rd party devs will follow their lead.
Fantastic news! Let's hope more developers take the time to improve their PSVR games on ps5.
This will look NICE!
Looks like i'm going to have a 2nd playthrough!
Played it on a base PS4 originally, so I expect quite a jump.
Would like to see if any other PSVR games get PS5 enhancement patches.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the updated visuals be based on the screens of the vr unit itself rather than the game? I know the PS4 pro have a small bump in visuals but the resolution of the screens is quite low... or am I missing something?
This is exciting. It was a brilliant experience, even on the base ps4, so im looking forward to checking it out again
Yes! Held off this til now so I'm looking forward to it even more now. Fingers crossed No Man's Sky and others will get similar upgrades!
Sounds very promising, looking forward to more details on this !
Wow ! This is the game I have saved so I can try out the adapter on the PS5 when I get it. Glorious !!
Question, you don't need to install it on the SSD to take advantage of these improvments I hope ?! I have my entire PS4 collection on my external HDD. Push Square - find out
Hell yeah. Can't wait to play this on PS5 when I go home in December. Hopefully I can find a PS5 after launch in Romania. Adaptor already ordered ... Let the Matrix begin )
Excellent! Just waiting on that camera adapter now.........
Does anyone know of any PSVR games that use dynamic resolution? I’m thinking they’ll be improved without the need for future updates (please someone say Skyrim!)
@jsw-8 they can render it at a higher resolution internally and then scale it down to the PSVR's screen, so it should look much sharper as a result
@jsw-8 psvr is capable of displaying 1080p but games must run at 60fps and sometimes 120fps otherwise it would offer an uncomfortable experience and wouldn't get passed sonys certification, so something has to be sacrificed so resolution takes a hit as well as reduced textures etc,this was slightly improved with the ps4 pro and should be even more improved with the ps5.
This is great. Really hoping VR doesn’t get left behind for PS5. I don’t think it will but Jim Ryan said PSVR 2 is definitely not happening in the next few years plus from what I understood there will be no next gen PSVR 1 games either. Bit disappointing.
The PSVR on PS5 messaging has been a mess. I sold my PSVR when they announced that only PS4 versions of games would be compatible and now this?
Hopefully a PSVR2 is coming at some point with better tracking, controllers and (fingers crossed) wireless.
Might be pushing it, but I would love Oculus Quest 2 compatibility with a wire 🤷♂️
So it is what we hoped. PSVR can use the power of PS5 to give us higher resolution images. Great news. I hope more games benefit from this.
So the bottom line is that PSVR won’t get new games for PS5 but PS4 PSVR games can have patches for PS5. That’s just silly really. I don’t understand why Sony is so stubborn and don’t release a new set of move controllers with self tracking and movement controls the Head Set is still good, just held back by the PS4. Like usual Jim Ryan makes a mess of things and everything is so confusing. Really PS5 wasn’t ready to come out this year.
@Zeke68 as far as i have read all the back compat titles (including this one) will benefit from these patches when run from the external hdd. If you want improved load speeds then you'll need to shuttle it to the ssd.
@Zeke68 You don't, no!
@SilkySmile89 New motion controls cost money. It's obvious they'll have an upgrade to PSVR eventually, they just don't want to overload everyone at launch.
@Weebleman @get2sammyb
Thanks guys. 🤗🍻
@get2sammyb yeah it’s true but given that PSVR launched for PS4 ... what 2 years ago, they had plenty of time to launch it. They launched the PSVR AIM, awesome by the way, but they had more games to take advantage of new move controllers. If they want for PSVR to take off, they need to commit to it, still missing AAA games, most games on PSVR are glorified demos.
I didnt finish this so I'm excited to go back and try again.
@jsw-8 I do believe you are wrong and I will attempt to correct you with the utmost respect. To my knowledge, most of the PSVR games were only optimised for the base PS4 and only some received PS4 Pro visual enhancements. however, even the Pro updated ones didn't reach the max resolution for the headset. I have read that Resident Evil 7 only runs at 720p on Pro and I am inclined to believe that as it still looks bad in many ways on Pro, but still a great game. I have used the PSVR on PC with higher resolution games and antialiasing enabled and it looks significantly better than OG PS4 and Pro, I was very surprised by the improvements. I do not doubt that PSVR has the potential to provide better visuals on PS5.
@carlos82 @vapidwolf @Kaos_Emerald
Thanks everyone ☺️ I didn't realise it was the PS4 that was the problem not the vr unit itself. Good to know the extra horsepower will help make things look nicer.
I've now ordered a camera adapter so I can use the darn thing when I get my new toy!
@SilkySmile89 there's no reason why a dev couldn't make a psvr game for the ps5 using better assets and resolution what Sony said makes no sense
What a relief. I was so disappointed thinking they were leaving psvr in the past. I feel like a lot of people will dust off the old headset and jump back in. I still use mine and can't wait just to see what they can do with it. I'd like to see patches for this game, no man's sky and Dreams.
@SilkySmile89
PsVR was launched 4 years ago. And you need to do some research. There are a LOT of really good games for it.
@SilkySmile89
Actually, PSVR launched October 13, 2016. I know because I was a day one buyer.
Edit: Sorry Beefy, didn't read your comment before posting...
@Zeke68 ok just lazy to check ) the question why Sony didn’t release in this time frame a new controller. Now would have been nice to play HL Alyx on PS5
@Beefy01 they are good games but most of them are to short or just experiences. I enjoyed Farpoint with the AIM Blood & Truth even the VR worlds. Can’t wait to play in December Vader immortal when I get home.
I think it's fantastic that development studios are making leaps to improve PSVR titles which to be honest would be vastly improved by better frame rates to help with motion sickness especially.
Texture updates would also help breathe new life into these legacy games.
