Games should cost more anyway, we’ve been coasting for too long. A two hour trip to the cinema costs the best part of £20. If GTA 5 cost £150 back then, it would still have been worth it for a hundred, two hundred hours played. Sonic the Hedgehog cost my mum £40 in 1991 (Toy’R’Us said RRP £45 but it was in a deal) and prices for games never really kept up.
I personally don't see how they can top how good Remake and Rebirth have been, but then again most of the OG's story was in discs 2 & 3 so it should be a fun ride.
Anything they put out using Pulse moniker or Link technology os to be avoided. The disaster of the Pulse Elite Wireless is still fresh in a lot of people's minds.
Bloodstone is the gold standard for me. A bit naff and rough round the edges, but a package that felt like a whole as opposed to good bits stuck together.
Criminal not to mention the very well received and still going strong MMO, but looking forward to whatever they do with this as long as it’s 3rd person!
4 is easily the peak of the series and arguably the genre. Nothing I’ve seen of the new 007 game so far has improved on UC4. The pacing, story, music, gameplay, dialogue is all top notch. Multiplayer still alive and kicking in 2026 as well. UC2 was amazing but realistically doesn’t hold a candle to 4 or Lost Legacy.
It's got so much going for it - arguably the best combat of all time (second only to FF7 Rebirth), arguably the single best soundtrack album of any type of entertainment, excellent art style, the story and twists will go down in history. If it's not your cup of tea fair enough but with a product this good, you're just being contrary on purpose to try and say it's not up there, I have yet to see a well put take that doesn't come across as bitter or in bad faith.
I don’t think it will impact Sony that much, most people who would get a PS5 or Pro will have one by now - what’s the install base at the minute, approaching 100 million? The suggested price is never the price, for instance I bought mine brand new though EE for £630, a bit less than the suggested RRP. And once GTA 6 launches people will still flock to buy the Pro.
2028 at a bare minimum. A PS6 launch will only distract from fulfilling this generations potential, there is zero need for a next gen console particularly when there’s barely a handful of games that even stretch the PS5 Pro. It’s not championing standing still, it’s sticking up for this generation and wanting to walk before we can run.
@UltimateOtaku91 baffling that the higher ups are ok with this. A guaranteed way to make less money. It had me going from a day one buy to wait and see
This was always on the cards since before launch - and although LCD screens have come on since 2017 - the Nintendo Switch OLED upgrade was like night & day. Wouldn't pay money for LCD nowadays. Might finally pull the trigger around Christmas if it's out by then.
He's right - exactly how it would work is another thing but there's no end to "such and such has been review bombed for x reason". Also the internet is full of terrible reviewers who never include sound design and soundtrack in their essays, it would help to sort the lazy from the good.
Amazing. I was worried they’d go down a contrarian route. Cosplay-y, yes, but that’s essentially what an adaptation is. The butler is a great actor as well, hope he gets locked in the freezer!
I had a bit of cautious and nervous optimism about this, but it’s such a great choice, Hirst is fantastic. The decision to set it in the 2918 games was probably the easiest decision to make, the original games were pretty bad and cheesy as a setting. Hope they nail the rest of the casting, can wait to see who plays the severed head!
I remember the android in the main menu screen getting progressively more and more disturbed and “forcing it” the further along the game you were. Eerie, and creepy as hell. Fantastic game.
I never understood the huge amounts of trashing of True Colours and Double Exposure, as if the first one was some Naughty Dog level of high art. The first one is still one of my top ten games of all time (and Before the Storm and 2 were kind of more of the same but more boring) but part of its charm was that for all the great music, setting and story... it's a bit naff. Clunky dialogue, clunky movement, just a bit naff but endearing. TC and DE were literally more of the same but with a much better story than BTS or 2. I'm sure this will be good as well.
But it's the WRONG £1500! Jokes aside, you can't really argue with the price you pay and what you get in return. Plus, it made me play games and even genres of games that I now love that I wouldn't have looked twice at previously.
The best thing about things/news like this are the comments sections - internet people famously take things in their stride in a calm and reasonable manner. Never fails to disappoint. Amazing stuff 🤣
If Sony can make decent, built to last a few years at least controllers and their own headsets that actually work, they’ll be on to something. GTA 6 - PS6 edition will be the big selling point for a while.
Shame. This was a really good live show and for not a lot of money as well. The marketing killed it. Reddit, YouTube, TikTok posts of it are full of comments like “if I’d have known it was in my city I would’ve gone” etc etc. I only found out by chance.
Would love to have a proper look at these but the well documented PlayStation Link atrocities have damaged my trust in their audio products. Great sounding when they work but ultimately, rock solid connectivity needs to be your biggest concern when making these things for such a big price tag.
No word on the sound design or soundtrack? Sound design of MGSV was incredible, particularly during those moments where you’re surrounded in a camp but still undiscovered and have a minute to quickly make a plan B!

Decent! Was expecting to be paying £99, November can’t come soon enough.

Those groups of people that create the maps of games from leaks, trailers and screenshots will have had an early Christmas with that latest screenshot
Re: 12 PS Plus Extra Game Removals for July 2026 Confirmed
Roki is a great little game, had a lot of fun with it, easy platinum as well.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for June 2026?
Happy with this month despite having bought FF16, which is easily a top 5 FF of all time. Life is Strange is my top pick for the month.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Cheats Live Now in New PS5 Patch
Using these is still “legit” - plat number 30!
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for June 2026?
They’re in a really good streak with State of Plays at the minute. Another very good show. Laufey looks INSANE!

Is that Destiny collection including all of the dlc content then? If so that’s a great month

Re: Why Is Everyone Acting So Weird About PS5 Game Mixtape?
It seems like the most Annapurna game ever, which for me is a good thing. It's a shame how these things seem to so easily snowball.
Re: Forza Horizon 6's Soundtrack Leans into Japan with BABYMETAL, YOASOBI
Amazing list. Good to see Ecca Vandal getting more recognition as well.

About time! Going from Injustice 2 to any of the following MK games was...rough.
Re: Red Dead Redemption PS5 Physical Edition Confirmed and Pre-Orders Live without a Word from Rockstar
For such a massive IP (and it really is huge), Rockstar are SO WEIRD around communication and where they stand on it, both this and the sequel.

Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Now Has the Most Game of the Year Awards Ever
Deservedly so. Always thought Elden Ring’s were a bit bloated. Although I did expect Uncharted 4 to have way more than it got as well.
For those who come after.

Re: New Tomb Raider Reveal Confirmed for The Game Awards
Rise of the Tomb Raider was easily the best TR game of all time by some distance, if they can recapture that then I’m sold.
Re: Video: All the PS5 Games We Think Are 10/10
Edith Finch isn’t just a 10/10, it’s one of the greatest pieces of art across any medium.
I’d have added Clair Exp 33 and FF7 Rebirth - not just the best Final Fantasy game but the greatest rpg of all time.
Great list! Half of them not my cup of tea but you can’t deny them.

@PerpetualBoredom yes! The soundtrack to 3 and Tag Tournament are the series’ standouts by a mile.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Getting Sick of Sony's Supposedly 'Samey' Approach to Story Telling?
Ah, yes. Ratchet famously crying about the death of Clank and torturing Dr Nefarious unceremoniously until he feels better.
The author was famously a Xbox One fan and losing the war still stings.

This looks great, already got a pre-pre order in with my local Forbidden Planet.
Re: The Last of Us Season 2 Gets 16 Emmy Awards Nominations
And well deserved. Both the second seasons of TLOU and Severance are some of the best tv I’ve seen for yonks.
