I’d have added Clair Exp 33 and FF7 Rebirth - not just the best Final Fantasy game but the greatest rpg of all time.

@PerpetualBoredom yes! The soundtrack to 3 and Tag Tournament are the series’ standouts by a mile.

If Sony can make decent, built to last a few years at least controllers and their own headsets that actually work, they’ll be on to something. GTA 6 - PS6 edition will be the big selling point for a while.

Shame. This was a really good live show and for not a lot of money as well. The marketing killed it. Reddit, YouTube, TikTok posts of it are full of comments like “if I’d have known it was in my city I would’ve gone” etc etc. I only found out by chance.

Would love to have a proper look at these but the well documented PlayStation Link atrocities have damaged my trust in their audio products. Great sounding when they work but ultimately, rock solid connectivity needs to be your biggest concern when making these things for such a big price tag.

No word on the sound design or soundtrack? Sound design of MGSV was incredible, particularly during those moments where you’re surrounded in a camp but still undiscovered and have a minute to quickly make a plan B!

To be fair it makes zero sense to put the end scene in series 3 or 4, years and years away. Watching it in a room full of people who don’t know the story, it’s safe to say they stuck the landing on this one.

I was at the Manchester gig and it was genuinely fully amazing. I didn’t expect that Bloodborne track in the first act so that was a great surprise. I don’t think anybody expected a full orchestra when you think how cheap the tickets were. Great night.

100% 2027. They’ve said they’ve known since before Rebirth was released that the third wouldn’t have to be as long a wait, and they’re not missing the 30th with it.

One of the best hours of TV I’ve ever seen. I never knew my lungs could cope with not actually breathing for so long! I wasn’t too sure about the change at first with Tommy staying in Jackson, but it worked out even better than the game I think. Nice little callback with the original Ellie singing that song at the end as well. Abby, Ellie, Joel, Jesse, every single actor nailed it.

@LifeGirl it won’t be the last episode. We know certain scenes that are coming and they needs minimum three eps to set up. Next two eps. Him being killed off won’t affect it at all. Plenty of scenes with him to come even after the event.

Both Remake and Rebirth are top 5 FFs. The fact that they’re both soft sequels to the original (they haven’t changed the original, it still happened) is nothing short of genius. Hard to see how they’ll come close to topping them for the final part but interesting to see how it will play out.

Also - considering the parent company I’m surprised m/impressed this article was even allowed to be published! Unless you’re about to quit Sammy and wanna burn it down on your way out 🤣

To be fair, the online expansion pass gets you the upgrades for free - something PS Plus Premium is scared to go anywhere near. That Zelda app seems fantastic - RDR2 had a similar thing that moved in real time with you until Rockstar abandoned it.

With this new version can you “walk forwards” smoothly or is it still teleporting?

Joel was right but so was Abby. Joel is very much the villain and deserved what happened to him.

It’s an all time top five FF title. Easily.

It’ll feel genuinely nice and sad to revisit all these places again, I played this loads during lockdown with mates and it was such a weird time. Looking forward to getting shotgunned by someone breaching under the stadium again!

I still can’t quite wrap my head around just how good the first series was, after 30 odd years of middling to bad to baaaaad game adaptations. Somehow this looks a step even above series1

Picked some up for half price in the Black Friday sale, and it’s at the new state of the art Co-op Live as well, looking forward to this!

I’ve had two Pulse Elite headsets, one couldn’t keep a connection despite trying every fix known to man, and the replacement was even worse. It’s a shame because they’re comfortable and sound genuinely great. Scam of a product from Sony and a huge black mark against them for pushing a known defective product.

They’re largely pointless on the PS5.

Considering Rebirth was the best FF and arguably the greatest jrpg of all time, and THAT cliffhanger, they haven’t half put themselves under pressure to keep the momentum going. Fingers crossed they nail it for the third time in a row.

Just adding to all the other positive noise around Sayonara Wild Hearts. Great little game and wicked soundtrack, ended up being one of my most played albums of the last few years on Spotify

@Darude84 the sound is miles better than the normal pulse, and so is the mic, and so is the battery.

But

The very well documented connection issues with the Pulse Elite are so bad I can only recommend you to hard avoid them. Search the many YouTube, Reddit etc etc posts about it. I had two different headsets and sent them both back. You might get lucky with yours if you get them but I can’t stress using anything else enough

It was like Dead By Daylight but nailed the horror vibe better. One of the best examples of sound design if the last gen.

Great news - I love a good poll

I’m still not getting over just how much this game impressed me. Easily the best FF and arguably the best rpg of all time. Technically it’s a sequel rather than a remake, and after that genius ending I’m fully on board for the last part due out in about a million years.

It’s the best soundtrack I’ve ever heard in 35 years of gaming - it was probably the easiest nailed on category to call at the Game Awards.

Downloaded the Diablo IV trial. About an hour in I was already mad at myself for not checking it out sooner. The gameplay, voice acting, music, combat, sound design, all fantastic.

Then I ran into a cave full of spiders. Huge spiders coming down from the ceilings etc. That was me done, it was fun (and sometimes genuinely brilliant) while it lasted! I can see why it’s so big.

Amazing stuff. 🤣

Best month for a while! Been listening to the vinyl soundtrack to Sonic Frontiers quite a bit lately so I’m excited to jump on that one. Looking forward to Forspoken, too.

I don’t really mind if we didn’t get the airship, the vehicles in Rebirth were good enough for travelling, I’d prefer the Highwind to be more of a base of operations. Considering Rebirth is the greatest FF and arguably best RPG of all time I do not envy the team making part 3 at all.

To be honest the game by game articles are pretty interesting, eventually we’ll get into a rhythm of knowing which devs are likely to have better improvements etc etc. but what we really wanna see Pro-wise is Arkham Knight! Arkham Knight! Arkham Knight! Arkham Knight! Arkham Knight! Arkham Knight!
