Former PS4 Exclusive Detroit: Become Human Has Now Sold 15 Million Copies 1

One-time PS4 exclusive Detroit: Become Human has now surpassed a remarkable 15 million sales.

The game – which first launched on PS4 in 2018 and was ported to PC a year later – has taken seven years to achieve the milestone, and was likely helped by hitting rock-bottom prices on Steam over the holiday period.

Indeed, the game’s estimated to have sold over one million copies during the holidays alone, where it was available for an all-time low of $3.99/£3.39. For that kind of price, it’s a no-brainer really – and it actually achieved its highest ever Steam concurrent player count as a consequence.

Quantic Dream’s David Cage said of the achievement:

“More than seven years after its release, Detroit: Become Human continues to resonate with audiences, bringing always more players together around the world. What began as a reflection on choice, empathy, and humanity has become a shared journey for tens of millions of players. This milestone belongs to the community that believed in its story and carried it forward, and everyone at the studio is deeply grateful for their continued support.”

Quantic Dream hasn’t actually released a new game in the seven years since, although work continues in earnest on its licensed tie-in, Star Wars: Eclipse.

It’s also planning to step out of its comfort zone later this year, with the online live service gamble, Spellcasters Chronicles.
