Rockstar has officially announced PS5 pre-orders for GTA 6 will be available from 25th June 2026. That's next week and you can get your first look at the cover art for the anticipated game in the video above.
Pre-orders will be available both physically from select retailers and then digitally on PS Store. The title itself will remain scheduled to launch for PS5 on 19th November 2026.
Executives within Take-Two have spoken about the marketing cycle for GTA 6 beginning this summer, and it seems that 25th June will be when it kicks into gear. From that date, a week from today, you can commit your cash to a copy of GTA 6. A price wasn't revealed as part of today's update.

Excellent news, wasn't expecting that today, I will be there day 1
HERE WE GO
Gona preorder, in case they run out of the digital keys
For how much tho 100, 120?
Gameplay trailer soon, please?
Lol where are the "it'll be delayed to 2027" sayers...how devs packed the whole September with their games showed they definitely got a secret assurance from R* they were sticking to the 19th Nov.
I shell pre-order it closer to release.
I'm not gonna pre-order or even play it. But it will be interesting to see people reactions if the game didn't live up to their gigantic hype.
Rock* are one of the very few companies I’ll preorder digitally cuz their games are timeless.. and I have maybe 1 hour altogether on GTA:Online
Preorders but not a single shred of gameplay?
@danzoEX Patience.
No more than 79.99 or I'll cry
Wonder what the reception will be to the physical edition being a code in the box and no disc
Probably wait until closer to release before preordering it dont see the point in doing it months before release tbh.
I won't even be playing it, but I am looking forward to all of the videos breaking down the inevitable technical issues.
LET'S F*****G GOOOOO!
I'd like it on physical but tbh I'm always nervous of it being delayed in the post. So I think for once I'll grab the digital edition.
Is there any doubt that this is going to be goty?
Will pre-order much, much closer to release. Digitally.
I was thinking of starting GTA V again (given recent news of the free upgrade dropping today) but I don't know. I wish a GTA IV port was available instead, haha.
Cover art is clean, love the vaporwave color gradient on the numbers.
@Bamila exactly! What if they suddenly decide they do not wish to make any more money from GTA franchise.
Grab the cash now, delay it later 😅
Not really a GTA fan these days, but it’s going to be hard not to get caught up in the hype, especially after the inevitably positive reviews drop. Definitely not preordering though..
I have physicals of III, Vice City, San Andreas, IV, and V. A physical copy of VI would fit nicely on my shelf!
@get2sammyb you guys going to cover this?
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/rockstar-faces-legal-setback-as-uk-tribunal-allows-its-fired-workers-to-bring-every-one-of-their-union-busting-allegations-to-trial/
I have never pre-ordered a digital game before but I am making the exception for GTA6. My Portal will thank me for it.
I don't support digital in general (more power and freedom to this who do) but this game is guaranteed to be available and supported for decades to come so I'm more comfortable 'renting' it digitally versus holding the physical disc in hand. The physical copy will undoubtedly require a hefty day one download anyway.
I am not one to get super excited. I mean, I look forward to and anticipate, but I don't do super excited. The hype surrounding this game from now until its release is going to convince even those who don't own a way to play games to get one, or they are missing out. My 80-year-old mother is going to have FOMO for this game. My Grandpa's brother, who drowned in the 1930's, is going to be debating the console he wants. Even Jack Thompson is pre-ordering from 5 different websites, hoping one of them ships early. This is going to be the most epic game launch since the PS3 era and will probably shape video games for the next 10 to 15 years.
Oh Ya - Physical
So the 3rd trailer next week then.
So are people going to start speculating on the price again now?
will be pre-ordering and will be looking for the limited edition... I've waited this long!
@BearsEatBeets
At this point, I don't think anybody even cares what the price is, as we are all just gonna bend over, take it, then beg for more.
Rockstar layoffs after this doesn’t make a trillion dollars are going to be such a bummer.
Meh. Maintain gta is dated gameplay wise. Gta 5 was dated when that released and I don't see a drastic change happening for 6. It will obviously be the biggest game in history and be wildly successful but still think the single player game will be a let down and online is what they will understandably put all their efforts into.
It has begun !
Message too short.
Hopefully Rockstar puts the base version at $70 or less. If they follow Nintendo (Mario Kart World) into $80 territory then that's a very bad sign for the future of game pricing as other studios will follow.
Friendly reminder to never pre-order. It's not like they're going to run out of digital copies. And you save yourself from being burned by buggy releases like Cyberpunk or Fallout 76 turned out to be.
Also, in GTA6's particular case, it's likely going to be so big that outlets/influencers will have review copies well in advance of launch to give reviewers time with the game. If R* are confident in the game, which I fully expect, review embargoes will be up decently in advance of launch day, and you'll hear about it. If embargoes are up on launch day itself: worry.
We finally have the next box art we are going to see for a decade and a half
No rush it will still be there digitally when I want it 🤣
I'm confident it will be the same price as all other full price games but they will also have a 'deluxe' version for more which will probably sell just as many if not more.
I've never pre-ordered a game before in my 35 years of gaming, but there is always a first time for everything
Let’s see the PS5 Pro specs first.
@Mostik well im gonna pre order it a week before it comes out and it they delay it into 2027 after people pre ordered it il laugh at them
I’ll decide based on the price of the game. I’m not 100% in on the game anyway, but it’s hard not to be interested in GTA.
Unless you have money issues and you just wanna spend the money right now because you’re afraid you won’t have it later, I don’t really see a reason to pre-order anymore with Games being digital.
Well, there have been times when I’ve pre-bought a game a day or two before it released because of the crap you get with it, but I don’t ever pre-order a game months in advance anymore. I did a lot back in the day when you had to physically order it from a store.
Can't wait to not pre-order it because I don't care about the game.
Yes, I'm a special butterfly and I need you all to know that.
@UK_ i’ve thought the exact same thing.
It would not surprise me at all if they delayed it in September until May of next year.
@MikeOrator I'll not be, I couldn't care less about it. Much more looking forward to Wolverine and the new God of War.
@Nexozi
At this point, I think that anyone who is not buying GTA6 is doing it to be contrary...lol. I kid. I too am really looking forward to both those games as well, but first is CONTROL Resonant me.
I was only trying to illustrate in my first post how the actual hype that is going to start surrounding this GTA6 launch is that there will be NO ONE ANYWHERE that will not be aware that this game is coming out. My second post was that those that are hyped for the game are not gonna care at all how much they are going to pay.
There should be an opition that i will pre-order if there is the usual % discount. If not, then no point in that.
They aren't going to sell out of digital copies.
So I will keep my money in my savings earning interest until launch day, because one would have to be pretty daft to let Rockstar earn that interest whilst supplying you with sweet FA.
They'd be laughing all the way to the bank.
When launch day comes I will watch the initial performance reviews to check the darn thing runs properly.
If it doesn't, I will keep my money in the bank earning interest whilst waiting for them to fix it.
If it does run properly I will watch some let's play videos to assess the general vibe, and then I will buy it.
TLDR: don't preorder games. It's daft, regardless of how good they are....
I shall await the reviews, and hopefully finish Crimson Desert, then I have annual Witcher 3. I've also just started watchdogs on my deck again, that game is so much better than I remember.
The biggest media release ever, definitely preordering.
Will definitely preorder, though not next week. Will wait until closer to the time. Honestly don’t see the point in ordering this early.
I'll be pre-ordering and will probably buy the physical copy at a later date.
Hopefully they allow preload on digital orders or there’s going to be chaos with the digital stores.
Analysts are predicting 25 million plus in the first day alone, this game is going to be a juggernaut! I'll wait till a week before and then preorder. Usually like physical but I think this game is going to be on my hard drive for a long time so will go with digital.
Prepare yourselves to see this in worldwide top 10’s until 2040 though I might hold out for the PS7 remaster 😅
Last game I preordered was GTA 5 and now ill be doing the same with 6…looks like my once a decade preorder cadence will still be going strong (physical copy better still include the map!)
Never understood pre ordering digital games. I don't think they're gonna run out of copies on the PSN
I'll be going physical. Always have with GTA games, always will until it's no longer possible. I like the box art, and their games usually come with a world map. Love all that
@MikeOrator Yea there's going to be a crazy amount of hype for this game. Theres so many great games or games that should be great coming out this year. Still got soo many in the backlog as well and started a NG+ play through of Ragnarok after not touching the game for about 4 years. 😂 I'll probably pick up GTA next year.
Rockstar is the only developer I ever buy physical copies from. Their artwork is sublime, and their maps included are chefs kiss. I’ll still get it digital, though, but yeah.
N i c.e.That iconic box art of Grand theft auto never gets old.looking good.word up son
Can't wait to do the exact same thing I do in every GTA with a graphical update!
That sounds sarcastic, but escaping the cops in bloodbath carnage will never get old. Sometimes you want a break from your day job though, so looking forward to following the traffic rules in Vice City while listening to tunes.
I don't understand why you even need to pre order? You dont get it any quicker
@danzoEX Exactly! Not pre ordering till gameplay is shown and closer to release date so more details are known, and if it will even run decent frames
The price of this game will have a huge impact on all of us. Investors and banks are pressuring Rockstar to increase the price of the game so the rest of the industry can justify more expensive games. If Rockstar wants to be a rock star, they will list it at $69.99.
We shall know soon ...
They should have announced the physical versions. What comes with each one.
@Toot1st I would only do that with the physical version. Digital doesn't make sense. They don't sell out of those.
A lot of anti-preorderers on here. By all means, proceed with your plans accordingly, but personally I have never told anyone what to do with their money or mock others for their purchasing habits. Have a nice day folks.
Great news. I will be pre-ordering a physical version (only the 2nd game since 2013 that I will have pre-ordered after 007 First Light). My PS5 Pro is ready.
I'll be buying digitally so no real need to pre order as such.
It's not like it can sell out.
Wasn't there a short video of a cityscape released as well?
I am one of those rare people who has no interest in the game lol. I can appreciate the hype though.
I have this feeling we'll see a base price of 99.99 for this game. They know they can get it. I cant see another reason for not announcing the price yet.
The rapidly increasing prices on hardware has surely also emboldened them.
Such an underwhelming video... They did say they were going to advertise in summer, but a 33 second video of the letters 25th of June is so meh!
I expect the pinnacle of gaming with GTA VI. They can almost only disappoint. I said that to myself after GTA 3 which we forget how great it was. However, everything coming out since then has held up to or raised the bar if you ask me.
I hope everyone speaking out against preordering or taking the time to proudly proclaim they have no interest in this game gets the fresh baked cookies they're clearly seeking.
I'll definitely pre-order the standard physical copy next week, this is one of the games I upgraded to PS5 Pro for.
Game play reveal first, preorder later
@bozz I'm guessing we'll see something on or just before the preorder date to REALLY get gamers drooling.
Will buy digital when I do.
Will wait for reviews and inspection of any bad bugs etc.
And definitely waiting to see the Pro enhancements.
This is the only game I’ll buy digitally as my Mrs will want a copy too 😜
geez. instead of a new trailer, this is what we get? haha this is insane. they really have nothing else to show 5 months away from release? i think it would make a much stronger impression if pre-orders went up after releasing a proper gameplay trailer. BUT, seeing as most gamers buy first, ask questions later, i suppose we got what "we" deserved sadly.
also, its hilarious that people have FOMO for a title that will likely end up selling more than 150m copies... where is this insecurity coming from where someone needs to pre-order this game in the event the game sells out and there are no more discs being pressed? rest assured, this game will have one of the largest print runs in history
Just realised I'll probably be in my early 60s by the time I'm done seeing that game cover everywhere. Yikes...
@mus422 I've pre ordered some games in the past that didn't go live till like 4pm uk. Probably still before the postman these days though lol
Pre-ordering a digital game makes no sense unless they tie in a bunch of freebies.
More likely I'll actually wait for this to come to PC.
@Deadhunter
That's is genuinely the most brilliant and heartwarming diss (or empathetic nudge) I ever heard from anybody.
Fresh cookies for the complainers! I love it.
I'm waiting till the end of October to pre-order.
@1970sGamer I think a lot of it stems from people wanting gaming to step out from its cliched past as overly violent murder simulators which is hard when the poster child for the entire industry, and indeed entertainment as a whole is Grand Theft Auto.
It’s a two-edged sword really. There will be millions of lapsed gamers who will end up buying a PS5 just for this game and the amount of money it will make is probably more than the entire output of Hollywood this year alone. And yet the cliched image of teenage boys playing violent games will persist as a result.
I’m sure the end product will be really good and people should enjoy it as they wish.
It'll be nice to finally see people stop fearmongering about the launch price.
Those groups of people that create the maps of games from leaks, trailers and screenshots will have had an early Christmas with that latest screenshot
Genuinely can't wait for this game to release so the overhype dies and those of us that recognize the basic nature of these crime simulators, don't have to see this ***** affect the rest of the game industry so massively through delays etc.
Rockstar hasn't meaningfully improved the controls or mechanics of these games for decades.
@YeyoFairy yeah agreed it better come with a map!
I never use the map but I like having the map 🤣
There'll be enough copies for everyone so what's the point? Especially puzzled about those who preorder digitally. You know, if they don't they might play the game an hour later because of DL and installation. Humanity is about as ridiculous as GTA satirises it.
Maybe I am getting old (late 30s), but I can't say I am excited by a pre-order pre-announcement with cover art.
I will digitally pre-order the game a few days before the launch date to pre-load.
A new trailer or updated website with game information would be a little more exciting to me.
I want the disc version because I don't believe digital should more expensive, and I hope GTA online is separate this time round because I won't be interested in it
I expect this to cripple PSN when it comes close but they should pre load over a set period of days per region I think
I also expect to see a lot of people getting the disc version early as well by shop sellers making extra cash on the side
Why preorder?
I still think they will find solme excuse to delay it even if it is a minor delay
@Runex2121 Trust me, if we end up getting a $100 MSRP and game-keys on every platform that offers so-called "physicals" (either of those alone could lead to angry mobs forming), I'm sure the angry mobs will be carrying the biggest torches and pitchforks they can procure. I'd imagine that, if they want to lessen complaints, they'd need a more reasonable MSRP (likely $70, maybe $80 at most), as much data on the PS5 and Xbox discs as they can to minimize initial downloads (or even deploying multiple discs on those platforms if necessary--something tells me this ain't going to be a small game file-size-wise on any platform, not on Xbox, not on PS5, especially not on PC once they finally chase that crowd, and not even on Switch 2 if that platform's in the plans whether at initial launch or not), and at worst only a hypothetical Switch 2 version involves outright game-keys...
(Trust me, the Switch 2 ain't the only platform where game-keys appear. In fact, the ones that appear on Xbox and especially PS5 tend to be worse than the Switch 2 ones due to minimal-at-best true-nature disclosure as well as the nature and cost of the disc media; I'd imagine Nintendo had studied the game-key discs in planning out the upfront nature of their Switch 2 game-key cards.)
(Also, if anyone's thinking that there's zero way the Switch 2 could possibly handle something like this, keep in mind the Series S exists, and as far as we know that platform must be factored into the Xbox SKUs. The only way they could feasibly outright kill Switch 2 port rumors at this phase is if they were given a waiver to be allowed to forego a Series S version and make the Xbox release Series X-only--and if such a waiver were to exist, we'd probably know about it by now...)
Not gonna pre-order the game.
I'm still worried, that it will lack the old-school GTA vibe. So I'll wait for the reviews.
Pre-order without a price.
Probably not getting it until way after release, if at all. Price will be a huge factor for me. I bounced off GTA5 every time I tried to play it over the past few years. It was just too damn big and overwhelming for me. I love a good open world game but it just felt like I wasn’t even part of it. I’m used to games revolving around me not the other way around. I expect that gap to grow even larger in 6.
No reflection for the ferris wheel in that new image stands out. Kind of surprising.
@starbug 120-ish according to some news posted a couple a days ago. Seems the entire industry wants Rockstar to do it so they all can raise the prices.
Like, why check worldeconomy first? The shareholders wants more yachts or something it seems. F the regular people that don't have millions in the accounts. As I have zero interest in this game's multiplayer and only play it as a singleplayergame I will see the price first and decide if I will be day one or year 3 on this one. No rush, I have plenty to play, hype or no hype on this.
@Zeke68 totally agree its going to be the biggest game ever maybe and with GTA online printing them money a normal 70 price would be nice
What's the point of talking about pre-ordering now, when we don't even know the price or anything regarding any potential bonuses? I know some people will buy it regardless of these aspects but this discussion for the rest of us seems premature.
1st game I will ever pre-order. Collectors Edition if it exists. Day 1 Play. Annual Leave Booked Starting Nov 19.
FirstbI need to see some gameplay and dialogue of the main characters. Then I'll start considering preordering depending on the price they go with
More interested in the remake of Black Flag to be honest. Bounced off GTA games multiple times, so not at all bothered by this at launch. Maybe down the line when it's dirt cheap.
Waiting on reviews. I have serious concerns on who Rockstar actually is these days. Hoping for the best but anticipating for the worst…
@Deadhunter use your head. There have been zero gameplay videos and no price. Plus a ton of great talent no longer works at Rockstar. People having concerns is very warranted. The trailers look sick but we all have been fooled from trailers at one point in our gaming lives. If you think Rockstar is invincible talk to Bungie or Ubisoft. 😉
@PuppetMaster it probably will not. Lots of great developers have left Rockstar of old. Not the same team just like Bungie….
I think I'll wait to see if it's any good first. And also what the performance is like on PS5 pro.
All the people who made the previous games great have left the company years ago, so the people designing the missions etc will have been the same people who've been making the 'content' for GTA online the last few years.
I'm still hoping it'll be up to the same standard as the GTA5 single player campaign was and if it is I'll be there day one, as I have been for every GTA since Vice City. But I'm certainly not going to be pre-ordering 6 months in advance 😂
@Morriskind Yeah. This is the first main GTA without Dan Houser, the lead writer and creative director for all GTA games as well RDR 1 & 2, Bully, and Max Payne 3.
And so far R* not yet reveal who's the lead writer and creative director who handle the game and i don't know why. They only have 4-5 months left until release and it's like they're scared to show the team behind this game.
But people already super hype without even counting this isn't by the same creative team. That's why i'm curious how people react if the game didn't live up to their hype 😁
@PuppetMaster most people are ignorant and just think everything stays the same. It’s doesn’t…
I'm not sure why this was the news that did me in, but I'm picking up a PS5 for my wife right after work today. She's a huge GTA fan, and while it might have been more responsible to hold out for a PC release, I just couldn't bear the thought of her having to wait on it.
You win PlayStation! This will only be my second time having a PlayStation in my home. The only other one was the PS3.
Gameplay and specially console specs first! A no 60FPS mode is an immediate automatic hard pass!
We can only hope this game is not that CPU bound to cope with the 7y old CPUs present on the current consoles.
@MikeOrator
Well, this aged well. Now I'm the contrary guy...lol, but in my defence, Rockstar ruined it.
