Tomb Raider PS5

Update []:

With The Game Awards now just hours away and the imminent Tomb Raider reveal being one of its biggest draws, host Geoff Keighley won't be too pleased to see what looks like leaks for new Lara Croft games appearing online.

Via the franchise's forums, word has gotten out there'll apparently be two game announcements tonight: an entirely new entry and a remake of the PS1 original.

There's something called Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis:

Original Story: The next Tomb Raider game will be officially unveiled at The Game Awards later this week, Geoff Keighley has revealed.

In a tweet ahead of the show, Keighley said on social media we'll get "a look at the future of one of gaming's most iconic franchises" this Thursday. "This is one you won't want to miss."

This next Tomb Raider game is expected to be a completely original entry that's its own standalone thing, and isn't tied to any of the previous storylines. Crystal Dynamics, the developer making the game, has actually been hit by layoffs as of late, but in terms of the game at least, it appears the studio is ready to show what it's working on.
