Sony is aggressively expanding on its suite of accessories, as detailed earlier today with the FlexStrike arcade stick and new 27” PlayStation monitor.
But one product which will be of interest to many are the new Pulse Elevate wireless speakers.
In today’s update, the manufacturer didn’t announce a price or release date, but did say they’ll launch later this year after the aforementioned display, which is officially due out on 27th August. We’re probably looking at September or October, then.

These speakers actually sound really impressive on paper, featuring planar magnetic drivers which promise to reproduce sound with “near-perfect accuracy along the entire audible spectrum”.

In addition, they use PlayStation Link connectivity technology to provide lossless, ultra-low latency audio.
As these are portable speakers, you can move them around and reposition them as you please. The battery will apparently allow for 12 hours of portable usage, and they can be recharged by returning them to their docks.
One neat additional feature is that you can use these to take calls and AI-enhanced noise cancelling will eliminate any audio that’s not your voice while you’re chatting.
Obviously the proof will be in the pudding, and price will once again be the key detail here. But it’s good to know these are still in the pipeline.
