Sony has been doubling down on hardware and accessories all generation, but while the FlexStrike fighting stick seems like a natural fit for its product portfolio, these new Pulse Elevate wireless speakers may come as a surprise.

“Pulse Elevate builds upon the immersive next-level gaming audio experience we introduced to players with Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, combining powerful technologies like planar magnetic drivers and PlayStation Link into new form factors for players to experience with their favourite games,” Sony’s Edwin Foo explained on the PS Blog.
The big selling point here is flexibility and “lifelike audio”. Sony says the speakers will fit into a variety of lifestyle situations, and explicitly mentions that they’ll work with PC, Mac, PS5, and PS Portal.
They’re wireless speakers so you can move them around, but each one will come with a charging dock. The idea is that you can perhaps station them on your desk, but then move them around if you want to use them in different scenarios.
The aforementioned planar magnetic drivers will work in parallel with the PS5’s Tempest 3D audio, promising “positioning audio cues with incredible accuracy”. The latency will also be neglible thanks to the platform holder’s proprietary PlayStation Link technology.
There’s no word on a release date for these yet, but they will be available in both Midnight Black and standard White colour options in 2026.
Is this an accessory you’ve been itching for? Sound off in the comments section below.

apparently they also fire lasers
I think they released more accessories than games this generation.
Sony venturing into the laser tag industry, finally!
Accessories shouldn't be in state of play they do look good though
Would love to have a proper look at these but the well documented PlayStation Link atrocities have damaged my trust in their audio products. Great sounding when they work but ultimately, rock solid connectivity needs to be your biggest concern when making these things for such a big price tag.
Sony have lost their damn minds including speakers in a State of Play.
I will give them a listen. I am an audio fanatic so if i like the sound i will get them even tho i don’t really need them. Nice addition to the PS family tho. I like that they work on PC and Mac as well.
I expect these to be pretty expensive for what they are - I guess the battery, in-built mic and portability are their point of difference over a decent pair of stereo desktop speakers.
@Neither_scene yea bet 200-300 dollars for sure
Is this why they didn't include a optical out port on the PS5? My monitor doesn't have speakers, but it has headphone slot. I have 5.1 surround speakers, but only get stereo sound if I connect through the headphones slot on the monitor. Speaker doesn't have hdmi, it's old. So I can't connect my PS5 to it. So I need those speakers. Hopefully not too expensive.
i like the fact they are wireless so i could use them on my ps5 or ps5 pro
I wonder if they will be just as average with as many connection issues as the pulse elite
@CutchuSlow
I’m in a similar position with a monitor, PS5 and PC. Got Amazon Basics speakers but have to keep switching the USB depending on which I use. These may be the answer 🤞
Like everything that runs on a battery, I feel like they will be more of an annoyance than anything. Just get a proper soundbar and call it a day.
I hope the speakers is good, I already use bowers & wilkins MM1 for my pc but maybe this one is better for gaming? MM1 is really good for movie and music though. Although the sony speaker is wireless while bowers & wilkins MM1 is wired, wired speaker usually sound better than wireless one.
More overpriced accessories that absolutely nobody asked for
Fair for offering for 3D audio, garbage PS Link restrictions. I don't think it's any better at connection, syncing, interference or otherwise with PS LInk then a wifi dongle or Bluetooth. Who cares.
@BowTiesAreCool threw my pulse elite in the trash. What a joke Sony has become. The premium console that says game worse than base. Premium headset that doesn't link properly....
@Onearmbandit no audio out port on your monitor?
I have Audio Output but need to switch between PC and PS5 via USB with Amazon Basic speakers.
