Another month, another seemingly rock solid PS Plus Extra lineup — at least, from where I'm sitting.
The headline act of June 2026 has to be Final Fantasy 16. Has it proven to be yet another divisive instalment in Square Enix's series? Yes, but it still feels like a big deal for it to be part of Sony's middle-tier subscription.
Ultimately, it's a really high quality, AAA adventure that's bound to find some new fans amongst subscribers. I think it's difficult not to fall in love with the sheer scale and bombast of its main story, despite its structural flaws elsewhere.
The turbulent tale of Clive Rosfield is flanked by a few very different games. Sonic X Shadow Generations is one of the Blue Blur's best modern outings, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance can be a deeply engrossing, grounded RPG if you've got the patience for its finer details.
Meanwhile, Life Is Strange: Double Exposure is something for the drama enthusiasts, and plenty of people will tell you that 2025's Blades of Fire is a bit of a hidden gem.
So, again, I think Extra's looking strong... but what about PS Plus Premium?
Well, it's another one-game show, but there's no denying that Gitaroo Man is a PS2 cult classic. It's just as madcap as its name suggests — a rhythm game packed with some wild design decisions.
