Amazon has shared the first official look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft for its Tomb Raider TV show. See the wardrobe shot below:

Amazon Prime Video uploaded the image with the caption: "Get your artifacts out. Lara's on her way..." Turner's outfit is a major callback to the classic PS1 games, with her attire fitting what Lara wore in her debut outings. There's the classic green vest, the glasses, and her twin pistols.
Production of the TV series is underway now, with Martin Bobb-Semple, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie and August Wittgenstein all part of the cast. The creator, writer, and executive producer is Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Do you like the look Amazon has gone with for Sophie Turner in the Tomb Raider TV adaptation? Let us know in the comments below.

As a said in the movie thread, I think she looks fine I'm more concerned about her acting abilties, but this could be her chance to show the doubters wrong, only time will tell...
No triangle bosom. Not watching!
It does look a bit like cosplay.
But, joking aside, I was more of a fan of the more realistic vibes in the reboot trilogy. I'm not a fan of going back to the old look. In this or the new games they're making. It looks cheesy and cheap.

Looks pretty good to me. Now they just have to come up with a compelling story.
They did a pretty good job of capturing the classic look, just curious if the series will be good or not, which I guess time will tell.
If they're going this route then they HAVE to embrace the camp.
Can't argue that she doesn't look the part that's for sure. I've got the urge to go buy Lucozade now.
To be fair they got the classic look just about right.
Not bad not bad at all.
Looks good really. But I can't stand her acting. So I have no hope for the show.
Ok that actually looks pretty good. Would rather they went with the Survivor trilogy look to fit her lean physique, but that looks more or less like Lara to me.
@HMazzy111 what a callback! 😅
She looks fantastic, she also have the right kinda voice, it'll be interesting to see how well she act as Lara
@nessisonett that tends to happen when you do fairly authentic live action things.
She actually looks great. But yeah, just hope she can pull off the acting!
wow, ultimate cosplay! I hope she enjoys playing Lara.
There's just a couple of things that I can't quite put my finger on that are a little smaller then I remember Lara having, but apart from that it's a great interpretation!
@nessisonett well she's dressing as someone else lmao
What she looks like is completely irrelevant to me. That is the easy bit.
Will i buy her as Lara Croft? No. I doubt it. I am getting the same feelings in the pit of my stomach that i got when Bella Ramsay was cast as Ellie. I wasn't wrong then and I suspect that I am not wrong now.
8/10 Not enough booba
Gotta say, I've seen cosplayers pull this off WAY better...
Looks the part! Lets hope her acting has improved from those Game of Thrones days
I liked a lot. It will be great.
I am sorry but Sophie Turner cannot act.
They could have used a better background lol. Looks like the backdrop they used to make you stand in front of for school photos
EDIT looking at it again, it looks like the low-res caves from the first level of the original game. I've changed my mind, it's perfect
Angelina was perfect I just watch her 2 movies last weekend
She looks fantastic as Lara and she's clearly been putting in the work to look the part. Nice to finally see the OG look as well in live action.
Extremely skeptical about her acting.
Amazing. I was worried they’d go down a contrarian route. Cosplay-y, yes, but that’s essentially what an adaptation is. The butler is a great actor as well, hope he gets locked in the freezer!
Daaaaaaamn! Love it
>The creator, writer, and executive producer is Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
That's all you need to know.
She reminds me of Oswald from KoF XI.
Eh. You can put any attractive woman in Laura costume and it will look good. But Sophie just doesn’t work for me. Yeah she’s attractive. But I really don’t see it.
That's no acrobatic body. She's gonna need to hit the gym.
@HRdepartment no I dont see it either. Apart from wearing the same clothes she looks nothing like Lara Croft.
I'm less concerned about her appearance and more concerned that Sophie Turner has the charisma and acting abilities of a wood plank. Did no one see those X-Men movies?
That said, I also don't think I would watch a Tomb Raider show regardless. Is there really enough meat on those narrative bones to make something interesting? I mean a 2 hour campy action movie sure, but a series? Nah.
Fallout works because there's a relatively rich universe in which they could create their own plethora of characters and tell their own story.
"Adventurer who hunts down supernatural artifacts" is a great basis for a video game (multiple game series in fact...) and a few movies, but not enough for a long form show...and obviously not exactly original at this point.
@nessisonett ...aren't all videogame game characters gonna look cos play when transferred to the screen ? Imagine Mario or Link on the screen, you cant dress characters up in black leather otherwise what's the point ??
@scottXedgar ....really ?? She's not The Rock or Arnie. She looks pretty toned and physically fit to me
@Nakatomi_Uk awful awful films
@BuGGy2DaB ...you win the comments today 🤣🤣
@Contimaloris
Completely agree. On top of that, she's not a great actress and the show runners don't exactly instill confidence.
She doesn’t have the look at all unfortunately. Glad they’ve gone back to the old style though.
Hard to beat Jolie as a physical presence, but they could have at least tried.
She looks okay.
So we've had from Amazon so far..the boys,fallout and preacher (not the best adaptation granted) and now this..oh dear this looks like it's going to be a car crash.
Test for monkeyman…
Will wait for the actual show to pass judgement, seems shallow and childish to form an opinion based purely on 1 casting. Hoping for the best but not expecting the quality/success of fallout.
@IkeCrane PWB has a single writing credit on a franchise, No Time To Die, where she did a rewrite at the request of Daniel Craig. She was completely uncredited for both Solo and Indiana Jones on the writing front as I assume she had input with her own characters but they were written by other people. Those three movies also share the distinction of being a mess behind the scenes before she was even involved. I’m not her biggest fan because she’s a tax dodging aristocrat but this level of hatred towards her actual writing works reeks of Gamergate.
Not convinced about her acting she reminds me of a female henry cavil
@LiamCroft is this AI generated
Looks like a cheap cosplayer but a cosplayer would act better than her anyways. Another disaster incoming but this could make the absolutely terrible movies look better but that's like saying this pile of garbage stinks less than the other one.
She looks like geddy Lee from Rush from the neck up.
@Dadou yeah, don't follow that series but looked it up and yup. Doesn't look like Lara and unless she's changed from Game of Thrones and X-Men sucks at acting.
I dunno. Personally her bazoongas aren't triangular enough for me.
I'll never watch it with that her in that role.
She can't act and yet she's everywhere....
It looks like cheap cosplay....
It doesn't look right to me. It just looks like Sansa doing cosplay. I'm not sure it would look any different with a different actor. It's just weird.
Looks great. As for her not being a good enough actress . . . it's Lara Croft, not Lady MacBeth.
@HRdepartment I can't unsee it now.
Methinks it's AI made.
@AK4tywill Tonal consistency is where most adaptations fail.
They are probably going to take this too seriously.
You can tell where her locks are sticky from the hairspray
Amazon and Netflix et al shows just all seem to melt into one another in some kind of giant boring slop bucket nowadays and maybe once a year at best something good comes along. I predict this will fit very neatly into the giant boring slop bucket but I hope I'm wrong!
