I have gone back to it (I said that I wouldn't, lol) and it's OK so far. There have been some painful things, like the server going down on launch day, and the fact that the Gatelord's Eye didn't unlock because I got to level 7 during a nightfall (come on Bungie, fix it), but there is a lot to do if you like grinding. If you don't like grinding though, give it a miss, coz it's a grindfest!!

Speaking of predictions, weren't we supposed to get vastly improved loading times with the PS4 when it came out? What happened?

Hmm...not exactly inspiring. It amazes me, especially after Witcher 3, that it is so hard to get it right, and get all the necessary pieces in place for a good RPG? Just take a the elements of a good, succesful RPG and build on it from there, surely?

Hmm, sounds like they have done the opposite of what was needed to get me interested again. The idea that each new season makes all your gear obsolete is dull and lacking in originality and imagination as it gets. For me, it will never get better than Destiny 1.

It's tempting to keep saying Anthem, because 'oh the irony', but I don't actually want it any more. So I'm gonna keep being silly and say Red Dead II.

Anthem has to be up for free on PS+ soon; what a disaster, lol.

I play ESO and the copying process for that game is nuts, as it's 150 + GB in size. I really need 2 HDDs, 1 for ESO and 1 for everything else

Not the best games this month to be honest. Please Sony, provide a cheaper option to just have the online gaming aspect of PS+. If I want games I will buy them.

Have always said that I would like an option to just have online gaming, seperate from the games, at a lower price, so that I don't have to pay £50 a year just to play online, which is all I really want.

Hmmm. Not too appealing really. Looks like more of the same old same old. I know people who are literally obsessed with this game, but I tried really hard and just can't get into it. The raids are horrible compared to D1's first 2; they've never bettered them imho. Will give it a miss and put the cash into my PS5 fund.

I agree that it needs to run on a new engine to last 10 years, and even then, that would be going some to last that long. In the meantime, ESO latest Elsweyr is pretty good; have been playing today

@Flaming_Kaiser There is a story, and, to be fair, there are quite a few different aspects to the game, but they do all invove grinding for weapons and armour. I like the game, but can't play it all the time like some do. Haven't played for a few months, so there will be stuff added that I don't know about.

Loved Destiny 1, and I thought Bungie did a good job resuscitating Destiny 2 from it's initial disaster. I got the 3 update package thing, but only really played the first one, as I still find the game too grind heavy, as are most MMOs. Wish the raids were more like the first couple from D1. I miss D1, lol.

Play ESO still and used to play Destiny 1 & 2 so yeah, not a bad thing imo.

Like most people, I don't believe that the infrastructure is anywhere near ready yet, even if the Sony and others want it to be. I live in a rural area and we must be 5 years + behind the curve with Broadband. Same with mobile tech, I don't even get 4G and 5G is about to be released. Streaming would leave a lot of gamers behind. Maybe in 10 years or so, would be ok.

I got the Revolution 2 about 5 months ago. Although it took a while to get used to, and I was so horrified by it when I first got it that I nearly sent it back, I now love it. Having one clicker underneath set up as R3 saves a lot of wear and tear on the stick as well. Then again, I paid £59 for it, so not sure if newer one, with a few more bells and whistles is worth double that price?

I'm a long time player, but am having a break from ESO at the moment. Will definitely give Elsweyr a go when it launches though. Necromancer looks pretty cool.

They should go free to play and just charge for cosmetics and stuff. Otherwise I reckon the game will be a complete write off in a few months time.

The problem with PS+ is that they tie the ability to play online in with free games. Why don't we get to have the option to just pay, say, £20 a year to play online and not have the games? I'm not really bothered about the games, and basically pay £50 just for the privilege of playing online. It's too much.

Interesting. Thanks. I had no idea really what to expect from this game, review wise, as it seems a lot like other games out there already. It's another one that i might pick up somewhere down the line, when it's in the £20 - £30 price range; but then for every 10 games that i say that about, i usually only pick up one or two in the end

It does look like it might be a good game, but certainly no pre-orders for me anymore, what with some of the recent debacles. Will wait for some player reviews.

I wouldn't want to pay more then £500. I never buy consoles at launch anyway though, usually wait a year or so, so would expect to get it cheaper than that. Cost of games would be a factor as well. If I waited 2 years there would probably be a PS5 Pro, lol.

Funny. Everytime I saw clips or descriptions of Anthem before it was released, I though, hmm...Dragon Age Inquisition in space. Perhaps it's best that development takes a while; they might come up with something different for a change.

There is no reason not to have an easy mode, surely. For those who just want to have fun and play through a story or whatever. It's hard to see how anyone can object to it if it's optional? It's not like people who play hard mode have to pay more or anything. TBH I find it elitist to say people should be forced to play at a level they don't enjoy or is too hard for them. The whole "git gud" thing turns me off gaming, and has meant that I stopped playing certain games in the past. We all do things that we're not good at all the time; why should gaming be any diffrent. The rest is macho BS imho.

Hmm...well, after Fallout 76 I don't think they should rush release anything else to be honest; so probably the right decision.

Yeah, not really a gameplay trailer. I played the prequel content earlier, and it was good fun. I will be buying Elsweyr for sure. ESO has got so much better over the last couple of years; now, if they could just fix those servers...

@Kidfunkadelic83 lol, yeah, I might buy Anthem when it goes down to £20 and has had all the bugs fixed. Ashamed to say that I never played H:ZD, but am determined to get 'round to it...err...at some stage!

Not playing it at the moment, but I will pop back to have a look at the Drifter content, as I already bought the pass. I still think D1 was the better game, but fair play to Bungie for pulling D2 out of the mire it was in a while back. As far as future content, I reckon another big expansion, the cynic in me says just before xmas

This is why I stopped pre-ordering games. At least I didn't get rinsed this time, but I feel for those who did: I know what a pain it is!

Thanks for the review, and the great write ups from others. I think I will shelve this one and wait and see what happens in the first month or so after launch. I never pre order any more (don't trust 'em), and am pleased I didn't with Anthem

It's OK, but I would like them to stop re-using content, and make it less of a grind fest. More genuinely new content. Also more RPG elements and story based content. At the moment, a couple of week after you hit level cap, it gets pretty dull. I have stopped playing again and am waiting for more new content in March, or whenever.

Waiting for reviews before committing, but it certainly looks interesting.

@Hapuc Game is really good and plays well. It's showing signs of age now, as it originally released 2014, but it is a BIG game, with a lot to explore and hundreds of quests etc. Also, they are always adding to it and having special events in game and stuff. I still play it quite a bit, usually buy new DLC, and really enjoy it.

I hate to say I told you so about pre ordering games (especially from Bethesda) but I told you so
