Re: Review: Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris (PS4)

@robertramsey Can I just ask why you still like playing Destiny 2? The game is painfully bad, and we all know that Bungie will eventually get around to giving everyone the game they originally wanted in a year or so (and another £60 later). This model sucks, and shouldn't be encouraged in any way, surely? You know, the pay for a game in instalments at a vastly inflated price model! 5/10 is very generous.

Re: PS5 Is Still At Least Two Years Away, Says Ubisoft

XurAgentofthe9

I have no idea, but will say 2020 because most others did
I like PS4, and won't be be rushing to get PS5 when it's released; I held out a year for PS4 before getting it. The idea of VR leaves me cold to be honest; I really don't want to be that immersed in a game. Also, how will I look up how to do everything on YT without taking the mask on and off all the time?

Re: God of War Director Speaks Out in Defence of Single Player Games

XurAgentofthe9

I still prefer single player games. They tend to have better stories and character development, and are replayable on harder difficulty levels, so you can get very good value from many of them. Also, purchasing them used can be a more cost effective way of gaming for many people. MMOs are ok, but the recent Destiny 2 debacle has taught me that sometimes I can get more playablity from a single player game

Re: Destiny 2 Retail Sales Down a Whopping 50 Per Cent in USA

XurAgentofthe9

@themcnoisy I was expecting something better and more develpoed than Destiny 1, but we seem to have nothing but generic weapons and armour; yes, there are a lot of them, but they are all too similar. For example, the Iron Banner weapons are reskins of existing weaopns, whereas in D1, they weren't. Gear that you got from the raids had perks that helped you with the raid, now they are just cosmetic from what I can see. It's lazy game making from Bungie imo.

Re: Bungie Is Looking Into Improving Destiny 2's Endgame

XurAgentofthe9

I got bored with it already too. To add to what'a already been said, I think PVP is a mess, and that was always a big draw for me in D1. They need dedicated servers to stop the lag issues and it needs to go back to 6 v 6 imo. Also, if you take the example of Iron Banner, the guns and armour in D2 are low light level; the point of IB in D1 was that it got you a stack of high level gear, now its fairly pointless, also the weapons are reskins of existing weapons. There is no variety in the game. It feels like Bungie are bing lazy.

Re: Single Player Games Are Really Struggling Right Now

XurAgentofthe9

I like both types of game. The issue with games like Destiny, is that they struggle to keep up with the demand for content that the game engenders. With Destiny 2, players are expecting more than with Destiny 1, and i think Bungie will struggle to meet demand. These games don't keep a huge playerbase all througout their life cycle; it rises and falls in line with new content, events etc, which players are paying for.

Re: Destiny 2 Is Down for 6 Whole Hours Today

XurAgentofthe9

Yeah, gotta say it's a right royal pain. There's been a lot of down time in a fairly short period since relesase. Having said that, I agree with others who mentioned the amount of content; there's not a lot left to do until reset tomorrow. They seem to have learned very little from 3 years of D1, and are destined to make the same mistakes. Also, unless you are a streamer or YT video content provider with 100k plus subs, they don't give a monkeys about you or what you think of their game. Just saying!

Re: Destiny 2 Is Down for Another Few Hours Today

XurAgentofthe9

This is bad. Way too much of this in such a short time since release. Don't they realise we all have stuff to be getting on with? Also, they should switch the maintenance times around between US and EU every 2nd maintenance, so EU doesn't always get the short straw.

Re: Review: Destiny 2 (PS4)

XurAgentofthe9

I reckon 8 is a fair enough score and the review does mention the crucible as being an issue, which I agree with; it's not as good as in Destiny 1 in any way imo. 4 x 4 is limiting the variety of playstyles, forcing players to run around in mobs of 4 and teamshooting, and also, why did they take away the ability to choose which mode you play? A backward step, surely?
One personal bugbear is no dedicated servers, which is very poor in 2017.
Other than that, bang on really.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Destiny 2 Down Dramatically Compared to First Game

XurAgentofthe9

I would have guessed that sales would be lower to be honest. I think that burn out will be a big factor, given that 2 is so similar to 1; something that I hope reviewers are intending to be honest about. I mean, if Bungie are expecting those who played for 3 years on D1 do the same with D2; hmm...that's 6 years of playing essentially one game. Seems unlikely.
Different story for those new to the game of course.

Re: Poll: Are You Enjoying Destiny 2?

XurAgentofthe9

I pre ordered, and I'm enjoying it. I would say though, that to all intents and purposes it's a reskin of D1 with a few convenience upgrades, and having played D1 for a long time, I'm not sure that D2 will hold my attention for anywhere near as long. I predict it will all be over by Christmas

Re: Destiny 2 Clans Won't Be Up and Running for 'Several Days'

XurAgentofthe9

Played for about 3 hours today and all went really well. Can't get into the crucible yet as queue doesn't seem to move, but there is plenty of stuff to be getting on with. Stand out hings so far are graphics and the shooting mechanic, which is better than D1 (am loving those hand cannons). Well done Bungie so far...

Re: Push Rewind: Did Destiny Deliver in the End?

XurAgentofthe9

I played it for 1st year, stopped for 6 months, played for another year and stopped. Had to have breaks from it or I would have gone nuts. Having had a nice rest, I will be getting D2 on release.

Given the amount of time I spent playing D1, I would say it was worth what I paid for it and then some. Just hope that Bungie make all of the very necessary changes needed from D1.
