Re: Big, Promising Destiny 2 Changes Coming with Forsaken Expansion This September

I have to say that they made it all look very enticing; but then they are experts at doing that. I will certainly wait for a while after release to see the reviews, but not sure I will bite on this one; the way they have treated their punters up to now is not good, and a lot of good will has been lost.
@shafedog247 it's not just about hours played surely? It has to be about quality and overall experience as well.

Re: Brand New ANTHEM Assets Unearthed Ahead of E3 2018

I hate to say it, but, generic or not, if Anthem can give Destiny players back all the things that Bungie took out of D2, then it will have a ready made audience of about 3 million straight off the bat. If it can improve further on that, then I reckon EA are probably on to a winner.

Re: Review: Destiny 2: Warmind (PS4)

Good review and sums it up nicely. The comments about fanboys and casuals is interesting, as in the case of D2 it is running at about 20% of its original player base; so a lot more casuals here than in D1 obviously. I kinda feel for the die hard fans though, as they surely can't really enjoy what Bungie are doing. My prediction is that they will massively over price the September offering and the game will wither away over the following 6 months or so. Sad, as D1 was one of my fave games.

Re: Destiny 2: Warmind's Launch Trailer Goes Big and Bombastic

Already paid for it so will play it. As @Bad-MuthaAdebisi says, they are heading in the right direction, but still a bit more to do. Not sure if there is enough new content there to get me all the way to September though.

Edit: Lolz. I played it today. They have added a very minimal amount of new content, the story is very short and, get this, they have just made the existing content stupidly hard, so it just takes ages to do anything and you still get a load of cr*p at the end of it. What a joke! I think this will finally sink them.

Re: Destiny 2's Fall Expansion Will Be Revealed at E3 2018

Am interested to see what they consider a unique mode? Hoarde mode is already on the way with the War MInd expansion, so it won't be that. If they introduce more end game content it will certainly help, but I think that overall, it's their arrogance that has turned so many people away; they insist on forcing the game that 'they' want onto their customers, but need to give customers what they expected from the game. My best advice would be a return to unique rolls on weapons and armour, as well as added end game content. They need to to it a lot faster than they are planning to though, otherwise it will be curtains!

Re: After Battlefront 2, EA Says It 'Can't Afford to Make Similar Mistakes' with Battlefield, ANTHEM

I have less of a problem with directly paying for items in the model of Warframe, but loot boxes where you essentially gamble on what is in them are a big no; for me it's no different to saying "we will give you free whisky with each purchase", it encourages addiction.
With regard to Anthem, I thought that they were having doubts about it in light of the epic failure of Destiny 2? At least in terms of the type of game it's eventually going to be; D2 really doesn't seem like a game any developer would want to compete with at the moment, unless they want a race to the bottom of the pile.

Re: Destiny 2's Second Expansion, Warmind, Launches in May

XurAgentofthe9

Yeah, they have a roadmap apparently, this week was supposed to be the return of 6v6 Iron Banner; it never happened. It really is an unequalled catalog of disasters isn't it. I paid for the expansion pass, so will play through it, but I'm not hopeful. Rumour has it that they are down to about 300k players worldwide from a start of 3.3 million.; so, only a loss of 3 million players then, lol.

Re: The Elder Scrolls Online Expands to the Summerset Isles This June

XurAgentofthe9

I'm looking forward to it, although, as a subscriber, I resent the fact that it is another "pay for chapter" rather than DLC (which is what it really is); but why greed and cynicism still surprise me I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm pretty embedded in the game so will no doubt pay up.
I also noticed in their blurb, that they mention that this chapter concludes the main questline; wonder if ESO 2 is on the horizon? I can hear my wallet squealing...

Re: Review: Metal Gear Survive (PS4)

XurAgentofthe9

@naruball I personally wouldn't get angry over computer games, but the creeping in of these gambling systems, or ways of squeezing more money from punters, is insidious, and is happening in many aspects of society outside of gaming as well. The best tool we have against this is refusal, so I refuse to buy any games that do this; not out of anger, but principle. If others don't care about these things; fair enough, and I hope they enjoy playing the game.

Re: Review: Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PS4)

XurAgentofthe9

Meh, realism doesn't do anything for me; I want ES6 really (when will we ever hear anything about ES6?), give me wizards and the like and I'm happy. Also, for casuals like me, this sounds like hard work, and I've already got enough of that to do.

Re: Round Up: Kingdom Come: Deliverance PS4 Reviews Split Critics

XurAgentofthe9

@Bonbonetti Surely though the game content is largely the same on any platform. If the review gives you a good summary of that, then it has its uses.
Game wise, it sounds like another game that has been released too early to me. I like these type of games though, so might get it once the bugs have been largely ironed out. I rarely but a game on initial release for this reason.
