I reckon 8 is a fair enough score and the review does mention the crucible as being an issue, which I agree with; it's not as good as in Destiny 1 in any way imo. 4 x 4 is limiting the variety of playstyles, forcing players to run around in mobs of 4 and teamshooting, and also, why did they take away the ability to choose which mode you play? A backward step, surely?
One personal bugbear is no dedicated servers, which is very poor in 2017.
Other than that, bang on really.
I would have guessed that sales would be lower to be honest. I think that burn out will be a big factor, given that 2 is so similar to 1; something that I hope reviewers are intending to be honest about. I mean, if Bungie are expecting those who played for 3 years on D1 do the same with D2; hmm...that's 6 years of playing essentially one game. Seems unlikely. Different story for those new to the game of course.
I pre ordered, and I'm enjoying it. I would say though, that to all intents and purposes it's a reskin of D1 with a few convenience upgrades, and having played D1 for a long time, I'm not sure that D2 will hold my attention for anywhere near as long. I predict it will all be over by Christmas
I like the game so far, obviously Destiny 2 was always going to be more Destiny, so no disappointments there. The shader thing is a bummer, but not the end of the world. Microtransactions in gaming are just generally grim and greedy, but if anyone can find a way to get more and more, they will use it
Played for about 3 hours today and all went really well. Can't get into the crucible yet as queue doesn't seem to move, but there is plenty of stuff to be getting on with. Stand out hings so far are graphics and the shooting mechanic, which is better than D1 (am loving those hand cannons). Well done Bungie so far...
I played it for 1st year, stopped for 6 months, played for another year and stopped. Had to have breaks from it or I would have gone nuts. Having had a nice rest, I will be getting D2 on release.
Given the amount of time I spent playing D1, I would say it was worth what I paid for it and then some. Just hope that Bungie make all of the very necessary changes needed from D1.
So if they're not providing anything new, why the price rise? I only have it because I have to for online games. To be honest though, we should all have made a stand when PS4 came out; after all, on PS3 we paid nothing. Too late now really. Not happy but have too many games I play online to say no.
Sounds ok so far. Not sure if I will go for it, having spent nearly 3 years playing D1. It very much seems like more of something very similar; eedto expand my gaming horizons But, I know quite a few people who only play Destiny, so this will go down a treat for them.
Hmmm, well, it is very cheap to buy on fleabay. What would multiplayer involve? All endlessly gathering materials together? What else happens in No Man's Sky, I've always been a bit unsure.
The launch content was lacking in D1, and the game was unpolished at release. Looks to me like they are going in the right direction with D2; guilds, more initial content and stuff. Price wise, I won't pay for the £100 version off the bat, I will buy the base game and see if I like it first, even if I end up paying a bit more in the long run. Bungie will manage ok; the Destiny obsessives who have been at it for 3 years already will lap it all up
Damn. Won't be able to cry this month either; that's 2 in a row. Never played Until Dawn so will give that a go for sure. How does Game of Thrones work? Is it like a game broken up into episodes?
@CountFunkula78 Tell me about it. I have ESO+ so get the craft bag for tons of extra storage, plus double bank space...still not enough. Hoarding is a bad affliction
I am really enjoying it, and think it is worth an 8 to be honest. A lot has gone into it, and Zenimax have to pay for that, so the price point isn't that outrageous; and of course, it's not essential in order to play the base game and DLC, so can be bought later, when cost goes down. Much of the game can certainly be played solo, even the easier dungeons can be soloed once you are a high enough level, and there is a group finding tool for the other stuff. If you subscribe to ESO +, you get all the other DLC to play, and they have already announced 2 more DLC packs coming in the near future.
Wow. I'm very happy with Killing Floor 2; makes a nice change to get a really good game. Not so bothered about the other one, but I'm sure it will be great for those who like those sort of games.
@Paranoimia That sucks! Don't think I'll bother then. It's a pretty basic requirement for a modern game to be honest. The cheating on D1 due to servers is a joke.
It all looks great, but they haven't revealed if they will have dedicated servers yet? PVP in D1 was a joke; there is no way I would buy D2 if they don't have this. I think that they won't, which is why they're keeping quiet.
I think refunds need to happen on PS4, Firewatch is a bit of an anomaly, in that most games run for much longer than 2 hours; obviously if you played it and finished it, you should do the right thing by the developer and not ask for a refund. But for AAA releases like NMS, where the game seems to bear little relation to what you expected, then I think it's fair enough to ask.
Good news re external HDD support at last. All the rest sound very handy too. Now we can all start complaining about backward compatibility, and maybe we will get it. Nice!
Honest answer; it's an average month in a sea of below average months. In fairness, I play a lot of online games, and grab the occasional free game from PS+, so not complaining.

Free psychedelics.
Re: Talking Point: What Free September 2017 PlayStation Plus Games Do You Want?
Destiny 2
Re: Destiny 2 Has a Measly 14 Trophies at Launch
Yeah, same as D1. You pay for the game, then only get the game you should have got after paying 2 or 3 more times. It's the beginning of the end imo.
Re: Gamescom 2017: Destiny 2 Launch Trailer Shows Off Slick Story Scenes
That didn't really show us much more than we've seen already.
I will be waiting for reviews first before buying.
Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda Won't Be Getting Story DLC or Any Further Updates
This and No Man's Sky are the reason I never pre order games any more.
Re: European PlayStation Store Reloads with Cheap PS4 Games
Mostly the same stuff. Either got it or don't need it. Also, am saving my £ for Destiny 2.

Re: You Won't Be Able to Edit Your Imported Guardians in Destiny 2
No problem here; I just go for the generic option as it gives me an extra 30 minutes killing things

I like both types of game, so am happy that it's not swinging too far to either side. Good decision Sony

Hmm...I still remember the update that bricked my original PS3 with much bitterness; it shouldn't happen. I will wait a few days at least.

Well, we got our one decent game for the year with Killing Floor 2, so only to be expected :/
Re: Bethesda's Busy Making a AAA Free-to-Play Game
Lol, Bethesda's pay to play games are buggy and unfinished enough; god alone knows what f2p will be like.
Re: Digital Game Sales Are Becoming More and More Important to Sony
Digital would be ideal, but if the prices stay higher than discs, then not for me; I'm not that lazy
Also, games on disc are really cheap 2nd hand, and if games became only digital, I would just buy fewer games.
Re: Star Wars Battlefront Free with PlayStation Plus If You're New

Hmm, was interested until lack of skill trees came up; that would make it a bit basic, I would have thought.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 170
Playing some ESO, geting ready for Morrowind
Re: Hands On: Has Everybody's Golf on PS4 Been Worth the Wait?
Yeah, I'm interested in this, though it's not my usual type of game. Would be good just to dip into as a break from MMO's

Bring in dedicated servers and nerf Matador 64; that would be a good update for me.

Re: Hardware Review: Is the Razer Raiju the PS4's True Pro Controller?
I don't have any issues with the DS4, and £150 is a crazy price to pay for a console controller IMHO. Think I will give this a miss.
Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PlayStation Game of 2016?
Another vote for Doom here. Also, loved the Skyrim remaster, but don't really count that as a new 2016 game.
