Loved Grow Up and Grow Home, really simple, fun, physics based movement (grabbing hold of the environment to climb) but with lots to discovered. 100% both of them
This is giving me strong PT vibes, I've just replayed RE8 and the DLC (man, I wished that had a pro upgrade, but I did enjoy it). Cannot wait for this, it's an embarrassment of horror riches at the moment
As I've said many times, loved the first one. The NPCs were a bit weak, but i loved the level design, the twin world mechanic (with the spooky light) and the gameplay. Really looking forward to this one, i hope they support it as well going forward.
@Jammer totally agree, i was so hyped after the PT demo, i really hope F is good, ill wait for the pushsquare review. And the sound track for SH2 is superb (I was actually a bit cooler on the remake’s sound track), but wow, Angel’s Thanatos, Heaven’s Night & Theme of Laura! I’ve got the OST on my Spotify playlist. I’ve almost finished RE8 so I’ll be checking the DLC out tomorrow!
Im on the fence at the moment, but a demo would have made my mind up and i might have bought it at full price. I dont have PSN so i guess ill wait for a sale. As everybody's already said, paywalling demos = dumb
I'm having a palette cleanser from Death Stranding 2 now I've completed it. I'm replaying Resident Evil Village, I did try to start it on Village of Shadows, mode by after 10 minutes was like "Nope!". I've had the DLC for over a year and haven't played it. Plus after this I'm going for a replay of Silent Hill 2 Remake just in time for Silent Hill F to come out it just over a month! Spooky season!
Best Soulslike for me loved it and i must get a replay in. Looking forward to the sequel, but i hope they do a bit more with the npcs and raise the voiceover game, the originals were a bit hit and miss
@Jammer nope all just first play through, i pretty much didnt fast travel i just loved wandering around doing the deliveries and building/upgrading road 😄. Some of the late game npcs can be a bit grindy and i was ready to move on by the end of it, but it was still fun. I ended up with 2M+ likes (i really should get a life, but this was more fun!😄)
Just checked and there’s no NG+ but you can just keep going after finishing the story, so you don’t miss out
@Shepherd_Tallon Looooved CrossCode, the music is fantastic. I’ve been meaning to replay it for the last 5 years (Death Stranding 2 came along this summer, but hopefully next year!)
@armad11, if you like Skyrim, the Oblivion Remake is a good bet, it was basically the Elder Scrolls game before Skyrim. I still wished they’d remake Morrowind which I loved. The remakes of the Gothic series might scratch that itch too, they’re a bit more low-rent, but I remember liking them back in the day and I’ll be interested to see how they turn out.
Finally got the Death Stranding 2 platinum after a mad 330 hours. Loved it, probably my game of the year. That made up for loosing my 200 hour Blue Prince save to file corruption (apparently it’s bad to rage quit mid run). And what did I do, of course I restarted it straight away (I may have a problem).
Also played a bit of Demons Souls NG+ and I’ve gotten back in to Batman Arkham City (after accidentally playing Arkham Knight first for a few hours). And of course Hexen, so many memories from August ‘96, watching Fraiser on a boiling hot summer night while playing it.
I still remember watching a leaf fall from a tree and thinking “Woh dude, we’re livin’ in the future!” Ive had Hexen on Steam forever but if there’s trophies attached..!
Just got the platinum on pro after 330 hours i though this patch made the image a bit soft in performance but changing the sharpness on the tv fixed it
I’m wrapping up Death Stranding 2 a few more deliveries and a couple more trophies before the platinum. I think the first one had a tighter feel, but I love the scale of the second.
Ive just changed all my zipline music to Pekorandombrain and the hologram to the data scientist which for some reason is hilarious to me. So if your ziplining through the mountains, i hope you like that music!😂
I might go back to my NG+ of Demons Souls after this, but it was kicking my ass.
Still playing through Death Stranding, I think I’m not too far off the platinum. So good! I’m starting to think of a palette cleanser for afterwards. I’ll no doubt get the GT7 races in which I forgot to do yesterday. Closing in on 20M so I’ll get one of the super fancy cars soon, then there will be 7 left to go!
I wished they’d rip out the clueless basic AI and use Sophy through out. Just did the SPA 24 hour race and got shunted off 3 time. Grrrr! Seriously though, 800 hours in offline mode only, not to mention the fantastic VR support
175 hours into Death Stranding 2 and it’s completely absorbed my life. Loving it. I finally cracked and got Balatro which is fun, but I’m still getting to grips with. I’ve almost made it to the end of the tunnel in The Blue Prince too. Exciting!
Some fantastic indies on this list, im still obsessed with The Blue Prince, I loved Crow Country and Animal Well is just superb. I cant remember a time where there are so many brilliant games out there. Im not buying anything else until I've finished DS2 though
@carlos82 totally agree im at about the same point. My theory is it feels easier this time because im playing it online. Im lining up a offline / brutal mode next year
Still slamming Death Stranding 2 and building roads and monorails like a maniac, might be the best looking game I’ve seen so far. Playing a little bit of 1993 Doom to get me in the mood for Dark Ages. I’m even playing a bit of Lords of Time on the spectrum emulator (and Blue Prince of cause).
Loved the remake of the first one, I’m up for this at some point. I haven’t played it since the 90’s but I remember it being less dark than the first one, but more complex. Oh, and with Macarana dancing robots right at the start
@Westernwolf4 i finished Doom Eternal for the first time last week, i ended up dialing it down to the easiest mode and the last area still took forever. I think i described it last week like being repeatedly punched in the just by Geoff Capes wearing a barbed wire mitten). Really hoping Dark Ages has regained sanity. I loved Doom 2016
I’ve put a crazy amount of time into Death Stranding 2, I was looking at the Main Order screen while I was rescuing a person and the status was “Out for Delivery”. Made me wonder if the distribution centres have an app that says “You rescued friend is 6 stops away!”
Don’t even ask about The Blue Prince, I’m on day 200, and about 200 hours in. I’ve almost cleared all the crates from the tunnel. At this point it’s a full-on obsession.
I’ve been playing for about 70 hours and absolutely love it. Hey, if you don’t like the first one, guess what, you’re not going to like this one. I miss the memory chips from the first one, and I think it could actually do with more BT’s (keep thinking of British Telecomm, which is scary in itself) and a bit more gated progression, but the game world it awesome. If you come across any roads created by crazyeddie69, you’re welcome
Ive just given left it on the map screen on the pro in performance mode and the fans on, but not in take-off mode. Its about 28 degrees c in here at the moment
@Kidfunkadelic83 just be a bit careful, you need a security bit set to get the fan screws out, about £10 from Amazon (theyre different lengths too so just make sure you remember what goes where). Its super easy, but a pain that theyre not philips head screws. As soon as you get the cover off, you’ll see if it’s dust. I do my standard and pro about every 3 months
I kept an eye out for this for years, it always looked interestingly weird. Im really glad it didnt end up quietly cancelled and if it ends up being good… bonus!
I finished up a replay of Animal Well, even though ive got the platinum (its that good). I watched a YT from FuryForged about the secret ending and it was just insane. I have no idea how human beings deciphered what you have to do, just an unbeleivable level of obscurity and difficulty. Im just happy to watch it rather than do it.
I also went a bit retro and played The Chaos Engine and Populous, both of which still stand up. The remake of Gods is another great Bitmap Brothers game if you were into them back in the day. It looks like Rebellion (Atomfall) aquired their IP in 2019, so fingers crossed for some remakes (I’d love a remake of Cadaver, such a fantastic little 3D adventure from 1990).
As ever, im still playing The Blue Prince, which i think ill probably doing forever now!
@PuppetMaster the aiming wasnt great when it was released, but they added more options after. Gyro aiming ended up being pretty good. From memory the first one wasnt really a remake, it was more a reimagineering (anyone feel free to correct me, it’s a looong time since i played the original). It was one of those games i forgot i had though
Love that Blue Prince is getting recognition. I’m at 162 hours and can’t stop playing. Loved Oblivion and the Days Gone remaster. There still a tonne I want to get but im not buying anything until after DS2
@themightyant i had the pump next to the boiler yesterday for the first time in about 150 hours, the conservatory and wrench can make things easier but its still down to RNG. I went and had a look what was down there thinking this is going to take for ever to open. Went back to the mansion, built the vault, then blind drafted the laundry from the dark room and converted all my coins to keys. Opened everything in one go. I should buy some lottery tickets!😂
143 hours into The Blue Prince, I’m playing it for a few hours every evening, and it’s insane the depth of this game. It feels really simple when you first start but just keeps throwing more layers at you.
Almost finished the Days Gone remaster which is one of the best looking games I’ve seen on the PS5. I hope everyone who was effected by the redundancies (I’ve just gone through it) bounces back, they did a bang up job!
Loved exploring the original Death Stranding’s world so im really looking forward to the second one. Hope Silent Hill F turns out well. I loved the Hotshots golf series so there’s that too
I platinumed it on Pro and the worst one i had was if you visit Kvatch before visiting Jauffre and giving him the amulet, it locks you out of the main quest. I just started a new run and did it properly.

@yellowmage, ah yes, the second of the first ones! (The remake of the 2014 one, which I’d never played 😉)
