Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 576

DrVenture69

I’ve got two weeks off and tonnes lined up:

  • Blue Prince, which I’m liking, but doesn’t seem to be for everyone
    Thank Goodness Your Here
    Just Crow Things
    Days Gone
    Animal Well
    Pacific Drive
Oblivion on PC or PS5 if that’s not a complete fantasy

Just finished System Shock remake which was fantastic, so felt like playing it in 1994
Might get a bit of Elden Ring or Demons Souls in too

I may or may not leave the house. That is, as yet, undecided

Have a great weekend folks!

Re: Poll: PS5 Fans, Are You Sold on the Nintendo Switch 2?

DrVenture69

The last game i got on Switch was TotK, and its been sat their gathering dust since, i only ever use it if theres a power cut.

I might be tempted if it vastly improves the framerate for Echoes of Wisdom. Ive pretty much forgotten about nintendo since they dropped the virtual store

Jedi Survivor which is still looking fantastic on the pro. Getting close to finishing System Shock, which I thought was going to be a 20 hour game, but I’m at 60 plus hours, and a special shout out to Thank Goodness You Here, which I though was going to be cutesy, but just throws weirdness after weirdness at you (the Meat section, and the Brigadier! What the what, now?!?)

Also just watched Zardoz for the first time in decades. I wasn’t expecting much from Sean Connery as Borat, but that’s a pretty good film after a few beers.

Have a great weekend folks!

I’m replaying Jedi Survivor which looks fantastic on the Pro, buttery smooth. The replay does feel a bit empty though since I’d collected everything the previous time through. Still fun though.

I’ve also got Thank Goodness You Hear and Just Crow Things which also looks fun.

Have a great weekend Folks!

Re: Best Cheap Games on PS5, PS4

DrVenture69

Fez is still awesome (whatever you think of a certain individual attached to it). I’m getting Thank Goodness Your Here as soon as I’ve finished System Shock. Just Crow Things looks really cool too. I’d highly recommend Animal Well too (and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes if you like hardcore puzzles)

For me, games at this level mean not having to sit through hours of dialogue or cutscenes. They cut to the chase and let you just play the game!

Re: Death Stranding 2 PS5 Release Date Set for 26th June

DrVenture69

The game world from DS1 was amazing. I was not really a fan of running around tiny levels after Mads Micklesen, but wow i loved that game world. It reminded me of an old Atari ST game called Midwinter. Im totally up for this plus ive got two weeks off close to the release so i know what im doing this summer

@Dalamar i was really salty on it until about chapter 6. Ive been more into it since then, but i also turned the difficult right down because i didnt get on with combat (really short combat range and enemies flitting around like theyre on speed). The fire hose of systems introduced at the start didnt help either, im only just starting to feel likei understand them 50 hours in!)

Still playing through GOW Ragnarok which feels absolutely massive now (although I did have a bug with a cage not raising because I was in performance mode which is pretty unforgivable a year later).

Also getting some more System Shock remake in, which is a lot tougher than I remember!

Have a great weekend Folks!

Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?

DrVenture69

@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy just had a look, I’ve got about 120 hours in Arizona Sunshine, and about 200 in GT7 (on top of about 500 before I got it), and a handful in Moss. For me, it’s almost like a steering wheel, I’ll probably only use it on a couple of games (I didn’t really get on with RE VR). It’s also not the kind of thing I’d want to play all day, I top out at about 2 hours. I was my first experience of VR, so I was willing to roll the dice and glad I did, but absolutely, your mileage may vary

Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?

DrVenture69

Ive had mine for about 9 months and still play a couple times a week, mostly GT7 (i couldnt play it in 2D again, VR is literally a game changer) and Arizona Sunshine 1/2 with a lot of horde mode. I need to finish off Moss 1/2 aswell.

No regrets here (i got it in one of the first price reductions for about £450)
