'It's Going to Be a While Yet': The Elder Scrolls 6 Passes a Big Milestone, But Is Still Years Away 1

It’s been around seven years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced, but it’s going to be several more before it’s in our hands.

Speaking with Kinda Funny, Bethesda bigwig Todd Howard lamented the way the game was originally revealed, but said he’s “happy” with the progress the project is making.

He beamed:

“It’s going to be a while yet but we’re happy with where we pushed the technology and how the game is coming together. We’re able to play it. We just passed a big milestone internally. The majority of our studio is working on it, as well as some of our partners. But I’m focused on the next time you see or hear about the game.”

So, even with the rumoured PS6 delays, we reckon it’s up in the air whether you’ll be playing this one on the PS5 – it sounds like it’s still several years away.

We suppose the good news here is that the bulk of Bethesda Game Studios is working on it, which means it’s now finally the developer’s primary focus.

Howard does allude to the fact that when he shows the game he’d ideally like to launch it shortly afterwards, so we wouldn’t count on many gameplay demos or trailers prior to its release. We may just have to be patient here until the project’s almost done.
