@purple_mouse_gaming , I first played Demons Souls back in the day, and thought I didn’t like this kind of game and dropped off it. I caved and got Bloodborne, 10 years ago. It was a gateway drug, and I’ve played everything else since. Bloodborne can be a pain at the start, grinding for blood vials, but it blossoms into such a fantastic game. So much weirdness! Watch out if you stand next to a certain tree in a graveyard!😉
Looks a digital sales price, looks at Amazon price. Physical it is! How is that still the case!?! I saw FFV Rebirth for £50.99, so I might grab that for my summer holibobs if it comes back on sale
The same thing happened with action movies in the 80s, throw money at it until everyone’s bored and the bubble bursts.
I just want reasonable graphics, a great frame rate, but most of all a fantastic interactive experience. No to sit through 40 hours of cut scenes and in game dialog. If I want a movie, I’ll go watch one!
Is Sony going to out Nintendo Nintendo!?! Sony does what Nintendon’t. There only so much grim-dark I can play. Love this kind of thing as a palette cleanser.
Loved Everybody’s gone to the Rapture, it’s not for everyone, but totally captured the atmosphere (my Dad lived in a couple of similar little villages in Herefordshire). This is on my radar now
I got it back in March and was expecting something like the Surge or Mortal Shell, but it felt much closer to Dark Souls (combat/level design). Absolutely loved it. The NPCs were pretty ropey, but the rest of the game more than made up, for me at least. I can’t remember any significant technical issues
After finishing Arizona Sunshine last week, I’ve started it again. It’s that much fun, the gunplay is
superb. Also got the Talos Principle 2 DLC, which feels a fair bit tougher than the base game. Also want to get a bit of Crow Country and Eiyuden Chronicles in too. Have a great weekend folks!
Not sure if it was part of this, but hours played seems to be fixed Just checked, and unless I’ve played 100 hours of GT7 in my sleep, it’s gone back up.
@LikelySatan , yeah interesting problem to solve, if it was all open world it could end up like Serious Sam. If was dungeons and open world that would be cool. If it ends up like modern Hexen or Painkiller, I’d love that. Need another stake gun!
Wasn’t a huge fan of Eternal (combat felt too scripted with little arenas), loved 2016. This looks almost open world. I loved Hexen back I. The day, so fingers crossed for this. Medieval Open World Doom!
Arizona Sunshine 2! Best fun I’ve had with a fps since OG Doom. Really want to squeeze in some Euyoden Chronicles and Paper Mario Thousand Year Door. Just got Crow Country as well, which looks awesome. Need to find the last rabbit in Animal Well (so many fantastic indies at the moment!).
Dammit, I’d just started NG+ last year and didn’t get chance to go back. Hmmm, the masochistic option, or the 100 hour option? I really want to stick with my original character. Looking forward to this!
Loved the original, played it loads of times, the dlc for the original was brain melting so I’ll be interested to see if they ratchet up the difficulty with this dlc. Looking forward to it!
I’m just going to keep playing from beyond the grave. Buried with the PS5, a network and power cable and a screen in the headstone showing Corpse-Cam tm
I need to replay hit and Run, so good. I’ve just splurged on a PSVR2 after the price drop, and oh my God! I was ready to not be that bothered and possibly return it, but I absolutely love it! I don’t think I could go back to GT7, and Arizona Sunshine 2 is a blast, fantastic gun play. It’s my first experience of VR and I’m blown away. I hope they put VR mode in more games, but I’d be happy just using it for GT7. With a set oh H9’s it’s giving my neck muscles a workout too. Happy gaming folks!
There are also just so many great games. I didn’t get Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnorok because there was so much else I wanted to play. I want to circle back around to them, but look at the rpg space. It’s like a fire hose! I also think companies telling us what we want rather than listening is a big problem, big beautiful games that run like crap, new games in loved series that take very different approaches. That all makes me think, yeah I might get it, but I can wait. If something amazing came out I’d probably drop full price (the next GTA), but I’ve started to like games like Animal Well a lot more
I’ve been playing Doom 2016 for a week or so, and I was thinking, I wonder if we’ll get another one, the 2 days later this pops up😂. I bought my first PC in 1995 to play Doom, it’s still a fantastic game, and as others have said, Medieval Doom sound like Heretic. I still remember seeing an animated leaf blowing in the wind in Hexen and thinking “Wow, we’re living in the future!”
Had a hankering to play Doom 2016, pity there wasn’t a PS5 version though, the textures are pretty ropey compared to the PC version, but it’s still a blast. I want to find the last few bunnies in Animal Well too (what a game!). Have a great weekend folks!
@kyleforrester87 , it’s put a big stupid grin on my face multiple times, just the joy of finding a new use for an object or a secret area. I think it benefits going in cold and not looking anything up (having said that I had to look up fast travel!). Hope you enjoy it!
Still loving Animal Well (35 hours! I do poke into every corner and I haven’t cheated other than looking up what to do with a shrine and if you could save the caged cats (you can)). For me, it’s up there with Fez. The further in I get, the more impressed I am with it. Have a great weekend folks!
I can’t read this yet because I haven’t finished the game, but it’s fantastic. I definitely want to
Platinum it and help out with this puzzle. It really reminds me of Jet Set Willy with the room design (yes, I’m that age!😂). Discovering the different uses for each item is so good!
Loving Animal Well (some brilliant environmental puzzles and feels a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be). Also a bit of Eiyuden Chronicles, but I’m finding it hard to click with. I’ll also get a bit of Doom 2016 in (got it last week for less than £4 in the sale, along with Doom Eternal). Have a great weekend folks!
@GreatAuk you can turn the scan lines off in the menu. It might be easier spotting cranks and switches with them off, but I kinda like them. I’m about two hours in and loving it
After 34 years in IT (not games), I’ve been through 3 takeovers. The first statement you’ll hear is “We’re all one team now, pulling together”, the next will be (after about 2 years when the regulatory requirements of the take over are done with), you’ll get “Financial challenges mean we need to look at streamlining”, then you’ll get “We need to make tough decisions”. Basically if you’re company gets taken over, get on Linked In
Trying to finish off Lords of the Fallen, so I can start Eiyuden Chronicles. Fantastic game, it’s like Dark Souls and Bloodborne had a baby. Have a great weekend folks!
I only just got the base game and finished it last week. After thinking, what the hell, I’ll give it a shot. Loved it, definitely up for the DLC and maybe another run through next year. It really exceed my expectations
Finished up FFXVI (I actually want to get the DLC now, which I wasn’t expecting when I first started), but now I really want to finish LotF which is, for my money, the best soulslike (excluding FromSofts games), that I’ve played. Have a great weekend folks!
Infogrames actually bought Atari in 2001. I guess they rebranded as Atari and are now spinning the Infogrames name off. I remember liking Kult and Drakken back in the day (Atari ST, which I’ve still got)
FF7 got me into JRPGs, and I found Suikoden 2 in a bargain bin in Game in 1998 (still got it). Really looking forward to this (and the remakes), I’m sure it’s going to remind me of a really awesome time in my life. Just need to fit it in now!
I only got XVI a couple of weeks ago, but I’m liking it a lot more than I thought I would. The last patch seems to have improved performance mode too (either that or I’m getting used to it). I’m definitely interested in the DLC now, but I’m getting Rebirth next
I’ve got a theory you get used to framerate after a while. It was like watching a flip book for the first couple of days, but now it looks fine. I think my brain took a while to sync to the framerate (same thing happened with Bloodborne). I’ve ended up loving this game after not expecting much (I miss the party, there’s way too many cutscenes but they’re usually pretty good, and the combat is still too button-mashy but there is a bit of finesse to it where the Eikons are concerned)
I remember not liking 12’s combat after finishing 10 (then loving it afterwards). I’m playing 16 for the first time after just finishing 10 remake. It weirdly feels like 12. I don’t hate the combat, but it’s very button-mashy. The game world is beautiful (frame rate is a bit low), but feels a bit empty. I’ve actually liked it more than I thought I would, but wow, I could do with about a 50th of the cut scenes! I’m looking forward to Rebirth soon
Looking forward to Rebirth, I’ve got two weeks off in a couple of weeks, so I’m saving it. I’m actually enjoying FFXVI at the moment (more than I thought I would), after finishing FFX remake. Total FF fest at the moment!
Platinumed Pacific Drive last weekend (absolutely loved it), and managed to smash through FFX remake. Now I’m on FFXVI, which I’m liking, but not that frame rate! Have a good weekend folks!
