20 Under the Radar PS5 Games Still to Come in 2026 1

There are a bajillion games coming out every day, give or take, and it can be difficult to know what's worth your attention.

Obviously there are many big, high-profile releases to look forward to — take a look at the schedule for September and October, if you're brave — but now it's time to look at some upcoming PS5 games that are hovering under the radar.

There have already been lots of fantastic smaller games on PS5 in 2026, but we're far from done, so let's have a look at what's due for the latter half of the year.

Deer & Boy (PS5)

You just know this is gonna end in tears. Deer & Boy is a cute adventure game about a runaway child that befriends a small fawn. Self-described as an "animated film you can play", your adventure will see the fawn grow into a bigger, stronger deer, and that bond at its core is the crux of the whole thing. This is one of those adventure games with less emphasis on gameplay, but hopefully it'll deliver that emotional punch it's clearly going for.

D-topia (PS5)

This curious adventure game is being published by Annapurna Interactive, which has a very good eye for top notch indie titles. Set in a clinical future world, this is a narrative puzzle game in which you have to help out the residents of D-topia to keep everyone happy. We haven't seen a whole lot of how this game plays yet, but I'm hopeful for an intriguing story and some neat puzzles here.

Denshattack (PS5)

I fell in love with Denshattack the moment I saw it. Oozing that Dreamcast cool, the game is a Japan-inspired action game where you drive a train like it's a skateboard, pulling off mad tricks and rocketing through the air. It looks absolutely wild, and has a seriously colourful style to match. So long as it isn't too overwhelming to play, I reckon this could be a winner.

Ratatan (PS5)

Patapon fans, fall in: Ratatan should definitely be on your radar. This spiritual successor is being made by a team with former Patapon creators onboard, and you can definitely see the through line. Ratatan is a rhythm real-time strategy experience with very familiar gameplay, but it has a roguelike structure that adds plenty of replayability and new wrinkles to the fun.

SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed (PS5)

SpeedRunners is an excellent party game, one that perhaps doesn't get enough love. Well, its sequel, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed is due out this year, and I think it'll be another banger. If you're unfamiliar, this is a series of fast-paced 2D platformers in which you race other players around a circuit, and anyone left behind is eliminated. I expect the sequel to provide many laughs and tears in equal measure.

Beast of Reincarnation (PS5)

Game Freak, best known as the team behind Pokémon, is stepping out of its comfort zone with Best of Reincarnation, a fantasy action RPG set in post-apocalyptic Japan. It appears to be a Souls-like of sorts as you do battle with various strange beings in natural environments. You also have a dog companion, which is a nice bonus. There's not too much info on this yet, but the combo of genre and developer is intriguing enough.

Big Walk (PS5)

From the creators of Untitled Goose Game, Big Walk is entirely different. It's a co-op game in which up to 12 players explore a large open environment together, walking and talking as you discover the world and solve various puzzles. The way it's designed looks ripe for hilarious moments and all sorts of chaos, and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Grave Seasons (PS5)

A farming sim that's also a horror game? Why not? Grave Seasons has you growing crops, fishing, mining, and more in the town of Ashenridge, but a serial killer starts murdering your fellow residents, and it's down to you to investigate what's going on. It's a fun mix of genres, sort of like Stardew Valley but with a sinister twist.

Screenbound (PS5)

One of the most intriguing games on the horizon is Screenbound, a game in which you must explore a 2D and a 3D world simultaneously. An in-game device shows a 2D realm on its screen, and while navigating it, you must also get through a 3D version of the same stage. It's hard to tell how well this works in practice, but I'm so curious to see what this unique approach is capable of when the game launches soon.

Trine 6: Together in Time (PS5)

Trine is back in another gorgeous co-op puzzle platformer. Trine 6: Together in Time features a variety of different playable characters with unique abilities, and each puzzle can be solved with any combination. Beyond a new time-slowing mechanic, it sounds like this is sticking to a pretty familiar playbook, but the Trine games are pretty consistently good, so that's no bad thing.
