It's the last week in January, and let us tell you, things are about to get crazy with new releases in February. Utterly insane.

More of the same for me this week: review embargoed games on PS5 and No Rest for the Wicked on PC.
Jamie O'Neill
Out of all of the winter settings I've played in video games this January, my favourite is definitely Batman: Arkham Origins on PS3.

I'll be getting started with two free-to-play games this weekend: 2XKO and Arknights: Endfield. Hopefully the latter doesn't drain my bank balance.
Those are the games we're playing this weekend, then, but what about you? As always, you know what to do. Let us know below.

After beating Assassins Creed Unity I am now on Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Still in Havana so pretty early in the game
I finished making the controls for Clive Barker's Undying for the Steam Deck. That is one of the best games ever created! Amazing atmosphere!
And why not some Ninja Turtles
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Purchased Maniac and I’m loving it. Need to unlock one more character.
Making structures and armour in Green Hell for a bit today.
Braved the stormy weather to watch Return to Silent Hill with my wife last night and I just wanna re start SH2R as the film was a 5/10 in my opinion.
Big day of Premiership football Sunday as well🍻
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
I'm on my second playthrough of Silent Hill F, I love the game itself, but that combat is a bit floaty for my liking (I know, Silent Hill combat is always 'challenging'. I could have done with a few combine-the-items puzzles too, but I am really enjoying it and there appears to be a lot of new stuff in the second playthrough.
I'm having a lot of fun with Tainted Grail, I've had a couple of crashes (2 in 1 day of play), but they seem to be when I've been inactive for a while. It's got a pretty good autosave, so I've not lost any progress. Other than that, it runs great on my Pro. It almost reminds me of a better written Gothic. Diffinitely worth a look if you like Skyrim/Oblivion, and £25 at the moment.
I've also fallen back down a Subnautica hole, that gameplay loop is so addictive.
Have a great weekend folks!
Continuing to live the life of John Marston in Red Dead Redemption this weekend, and also drumming my army to victory in Patapon.
Also, I finished Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles at the beginning of the week, and for anyone who is interested, permit me to wax lyrical for a moment: I was expecting it to be a little primitive compared to later entries, and for Ys 1 that's certainly true of the boss battles, but taken as a package it's just a brilliant Ys adventure. Ys 2 especially is essentially a fully-fledged 2D Ys game. All the basic elements are there - the sense of discovery, exploring maze-like environments, the addictive gameplay, and the standing around for 30 seconds at a time waiting for your health to regenerate (lol). It really went beyond my expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'll be snowed in this weekend - as long as power holds up, gaming is what I'll be doing. I mean, even if it doesn't, I'll still be gaming, just on a handheld probably.
I'm nearing the end of Final Fantasy VI. There will be some catharsis there - I dropped it mid way through in a strange time of my life, and it'll be cool to get it finished.
After that, I'd like to dip back into Control, Fallout 4, and Tormented Souls II. If I'm still feeling some old school RPGs, I have the whole rest of the Pixel Remaster collection.
Have a great weekend everybody, and stay warm out there.
Still in London, still no gaming.
I went to Paris the other day, and it was awesome
Played the Rubato demo on my Switch 2 last night and I just have to remark about that because it was utterly fantastic and I’m looking forward to buying the full game in March now.
But, for the weekend, I’m working today and my birthday party’s tomorrow, sooo… I’m sure we’ll play some form of party game tomorrow. Jackbox or Mario Party or something along those lines.
With my birthday being so close, I’m sort of using that to play more games than usual. I did finally start Terranigma after years of wanting to see what it was about and it’s a really beautiful 16 bit JRPG. I’d really like to start the Seance of Blake Manor tonight. I was also able to find Vib Ribbon recently and that’s been a definite go-to game for me. Man, do I wish Sony would revisit Vib Ribbon and Parappa… That’s a wish for the birthday candles…
I'm really enjoying 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim so I'll be looking to finish it this weekend, more likely during next week. Disappointed it's not available for Portal streaming though, as I'm on a work trip from Monday to Wednesday.
Alongside that I'm chipping away at the final Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden trophy I need for the platinum (second ending) and working in general towards my 'start and finish 30 games in 2026' target. I'll be at a minimum of 3 by end of the month with these two plus the excellent Cocoon, which was a 'pick up and platinum' in the space of an afternoon - always nice. A good gaming start to 2026!
Starting Citizen Sleeper 2 today - played the first game a few years ago and loved it
i’ll be chugging away at kcd2 on the 5pro and i’ll be playing nhl open ice and mizzurna falls on a ps1 emulator (duckstation) to mix things up.
Just started Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition last night which I will be continuing. Played it before on the GameCube but I remember nothing about it except that I enjoyed it!
I just discovered The Riftbreaker on PS5.
It's the only strategy game I've ever played but it's got me hooked thus far.
I'm kinda wondering what other strategy games are out there for me but not before I sink another half dozen hours into it this weekend
Doing gigs in Dogtown in CP2077, partying in KCD2, more hunting in MHWilds, exploring Caspian in Metro Exodus, still trying to find secret pathways in the mighty Elden Ring. Sigh, there I go playing a lot of games at once again, times have changed, a lot of games are just too good.
I've bought the winters expansion for Resi Village so going to do the Rose DLC and then see what the main game is like in 3rd person.
Plus a bit of The Tetris effect too as it's very addictive
I will continued playing the instant classic the incredible absolum. And I will be continued playing one of the best video games ever in the amazing hades.i will be watching my boston celtics 💚🖤 play .I will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers. And saved by the bell.word up son
Rise of the Tomb Raider. I love exploring in this one. For a 10 year old game, it still looks great.
I've reached Kingpin in Skull and Bones, so I shall be doing more plundering and treasure hunting
Greetings fellow video games enthusiasts. I'm hoping to start Spider-man 2, that video game with the modern day Tarzan? That looks really good. I got some vidja games (video games) for my birthday earlier this week which will go into the upper backlog. Have fun everyone.
Still playing Borderlands 4 hopefully get the story finished this weekend and probably a bit of BF6 multiplayer later on. I'm also tempted to download Fable again on my Xbox and do another playthrough it's been a while.
Returnal:
Finished act 3 this morning and now I'm searching out the last 2 glyths I need in biome 2 for the platinum.
Oblivion:
Played another hour after Returnal and I got a visit from the Dark Brotherhood so I'm looking forward to starting that questline.
Very tempted to redownload FF7 Remake for PS5 and see how the baby modes break it as well.
I started Star Wars Outlaws on my Switch 2. 18 hours in so far and really enjoying it. Besides that not much else. I’m planning on starting Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty soon.
Kcd2. Doing all the sidequests in the Kuttenberg region before I continue the main quest.
Have a great weekend!
Yup, it's more Octopath Traveler 0 as I'm now about 70hrs in. But I also dabbled in a like Oblivion Remastered after a long break. Happy gaming everyone!
PS5 - Astro Bot, Shenmue
Switch Lite - Super Mario Bros - The Lost Levels
Managed to complete Red Dead Redemption last weekend, also completed AstroBot and Super Mario Bros during the week.....just hoovering up trophies on AstroBot now as I want to get platinum (Something I have never done with a game).
Should Complete the lost levels today and then want to start Shenmue.
More Borderlands 4 for me, about half way through now I think and enjoying it. The GPS tracker thing on your hover bike thing is terrible though it just constantly sends you the wrong way!
That said brilliant guns and it's all about the guns!
Happy gaming folks
played since last week
Cyberpunk 2077 - Finished the Phantom Liberty DLC, which is very good imo, chose two for me new endings and picked the one where you basically go back to Night City and continue from where you were before you went to Dogtown, which was pretty neat as I got to finish the game of with my favorite ending with Panam. As I've said so many times before, this is such an awesome game despite some flaws imo and one of my all time favorites. Probably not the last time I do a full playthrough either 🙂
Resident Evil Village - Perfect game to drop on Plus for me, been close to buying it several times but I've been unsure if I have the balls to play it so figured I'd wait. And thankfully, its not as scary as I feared meaning my tiny balls can handle it, and on top of that its very good. I¨ve met and defeated the tall lady it was so much fuss about some years ago (cant say much about that, I'm all over Panam so... 🙂). Looking forward to continuing the game. But I'm not ***** playing it in VR, that would be the end of me....
Far Cry Blood Dragon - when I need a breather from Resi 8 I've been playing Blood Dragon. The new 60 fps patch was a great excuse to revisit this classic, which has aged a bit but its still very good imo and I like the old school humor in it.
Greetings, good people.
This weekend is extremely cold here, so instead of usual going out to ice skating, ping-pong or such, I'm staying indoors, cleaning the house and playing games. And boy, I really stretched myself thin, despite usually avoiding doing so. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on PS5, Trails beyond the Horizon and MIO on Steam Deck, Octopath Traveler and Super Mario Galaxy on Switch. I really should commit and finish something this weekend, and it will probably be MIO, very beautiful metroidvania with emphasis on platforming, highly recommend.
That's all for now, love each other and have a great weekend.
I finished Banisters: Ghosts of New Eden for the second time making different choices - I spared everyone this time around, and it was emotional for me to experience both sides of the story. I kinda look like the Scotsman and my wife kinda looks like Antea, and it is very much an adult drama, so it was difficult NOT to relate.
Next up, I booted AC: Mirage also on PS Plus. Great game and it is AC as I liked it back in the day of the ones based in Italy. Immediately after completion I restarted a New Game + where the game ends if I die. The first playthrough had its fair share of (cinematic) moments and immersion, and it is ramped up in a no-die playthrough where everything you do has to be deliberate. Make no mistake, I will die eventually, but so far I'm a couple of cases in.
Because of Mirage, I also booted up Dishonored 2. I thought it was time to see why it was so well liked. Also, a good game that stands the test of time.
Trails Beyond the Horizon since last week, which is turning out to be excellent
I’m doing my final play though of Thief to get that shiny Platinum trophy. Then I might revisit Tomb raider 2013, as I never finished the series after getting burned out.
Astro Bot
Just rolled the best credits ever. 260 out of 301 bots rescued. What a fantastic game. S-Tier.
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Delivered potted flowers to Uppsala, dry milk to Bergen, caviar to Kristiansand, and an excavator to Oslo. Opened a garage in Stockholm. After 101 days my Ziggurat Spedition trucking empire has 41 trucks.
I've been spending some time with my PS3 slim for FF X HD and Fatal Frame II. But this afternoon, i can't sign in to PSN from PS3. It showed error and this error block me from playing any games, digital or physical which is weird. The error showed 'this game have time limit' and ask me go to setting and set the time clock based on internet, which also showed error. I wonder if Sony secretly turned PS3 into must online console with their latest patch or there's something wrong with my PS3 slim 🤔. Anyone in here experience the same with their PS3?
Beside FF X and Fatal Frame II, i'm playing Ys VII on Vita.
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
Platinum on Marvel Invasion finished. Did the whole thing solo and loved it. Still working on FF Tactics and AI Limit
I also started messing with The Exit 8 and it’s awesome as an experience.
Don’t know how much time to play I’ll get before we lose power in the nasty ice storm coming our way.
Honestly, been playing the same stuff and itching for a new experience but have no idea where to go next, and hate to abandon what I’ve been playing, but time constraints have made it tough to not play something in short bursts.
Ok here we go with a moan.
So far cry primal series x 60FPS update.
Cloud save worked perfectly and got my save and settings.
Right playing FCP made me see how poor and over large open world games have become and how boring at times and full of to much filler and open gaps.
FCP is a smaller map very dense but so more real with what is going, the wild animals, the other tribes that are out and about, doing things and attacking things and you, the noises the atmosphere.
The world created in general.
It’s just all there and better than today’s open world games.
Graphics wise really has stood up well and the 60FPS has no shimmer or pixel crawl like today games.
The sound atmosphere wise is so spot on.
Game Development has really not advanced that much and even gone backwards in someways.
@Onearmbandit I got a good few hours enjoyment out of Maniac so it’s nice to see someone else enjoy it as well!
@ErrantRob
Yeah it’s a fun game 👍 plus it was only £3.
@get2sammyb still no poll in this post? It can’t be that hard to implement. Even Nintendo Life has it
Getting deeper into Red Dead Redemption 2...
Trying to get the perfect animal pelts I need for a bit of crafting. Trying to be a Good Man (whenever someone is looking). Not being particularly successful at either.
Things are tough out here in the dyin' West.
007: From Russia with Love (PSP) - I feel this is a very underrated Bond adventure to say the least...
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Completing it this time.
Angry Birds Space (Windows Phone) - Nearly done with this as well. I'll then delete it and move onto the next one on the list of shame
Forbidden west platinum, Metal gear 3 platinum on Vita and more diablo4 grinding. If I can get 5 minutes for any of those 3 I’ll be lucky 😂
I'm currently playing through King Arthur: Knight's Tale, which is a little bit like an XCOM game. I am currently in Act 3 of 4, and am undertaking my 34th mission right now. I'm really enjoying the game...
I’m right at the end of Divinity 2 so will finish that. It’s been excellent. I would like to dip into Core Keeper.
I’ll be watching Slow Horses and the UFC as well so probably no more spare time.
Enjoying my first Yakuza game, I can't say I know what's happening but I like it and the game-play loop is very enjoyable. I found a book that goes deep into the series lore/etc too so I'm finding out about the other games outside of this one. - happy gaming folks
@Onearmbandit I see your Cult of Static, good choice.
Vampire survivors and Forza horizon for me this weekend. Happy gaming everyone
@IntrepidWombat are you also in the path of the major US winter storm this weekend?
@GirlVersusGame
Thanks 🤘
Probably going to keep plodding on with Dragon Quest 3 remake and a bit of Cat Quest 3 with my wife. Any other xyz quest 3 games I should add to the list? 😂
@ApostateMage incredible game. Definitely my favourite of the newer Tomb Raiders
Just over halfway through Bayonetta. I have absolutely no idea what's going on story wise but the combat and bosses are really fun.
Enjoy the weekend everyone
@Mostik yeah the tracker is terrible. Fun game though. Hopefully the dlc will be great
@ApostateMage
I’ve been tempted so many times to grab the survivor trilogy as they’re great games.
Hoping to wrap up Cocoon this weekend. This game has really surprised me, it's a superb puzzler
Hello there fellow gamers.
After finishing the Fantastic Expedition 33, I´m now free to go back and play my other unfinished games in my backlog, such as:
These will be my main ones for starters and eventualy I´ll go back to Stelar Blade and Star Wars Outlaws.
I really want to be able to finish at least these games this year.
There are way to many good games coming out in 2026 and the backlog keeps increasing, so I have to chip it way as much as possible.
Cheers and happy gaming weekend good people
@Onearmbandit It would be rude not to, I'm grinding XP and Yen while I listen. I was going to go with Cold but then I'd want watch to watch Queen of The Damned again and Lunatic always sounds like 'take my cellphone' I can't unhear it.
Hello again, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:
Switch:
Animal Crossing New Horizons: haven't made any more hotel progress yet, but I am close to affording the first storage upgrade from the new update.
PS4:
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: doing late game level grinding right now and most of my characters are now in the late 90s in terms of level. All I have to do now is defeat the final boss Arfoire and then I've beaten the game. After that, I will start a new game that isn't Neptunia for the first time in a few months, and it will be on Switch this time. I already have a game in mind for what I want to play next.
Also, this may came as a surprise to y'all, but after I beat Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+ I will be leaving Push Square for the time being. Not because I dislike this website or the people on it, but because my PS4 will be going into storage. I will explain in more detail in the goodbye / vacation forum thread after I beat the game, which, as evidenced above, should be soon 😀.
I am playing a few games from SEGA's latest console, the Dreamcast. I'll be dipping in and out of Space Channel 5, Headhunter, Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 and Jet Set Radio.
Slowly grinding my way through career mode in MSFS24. Halfway to the first Boeing 737, hopefully the last few legs will provide me with some fine scenery and great flight hours.
But.... (This will be the main course of this weekend!)
I'm in the final chapter of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Remake...
And it is a Rollercoaster! Didn't expect the game to catch me in its claws the way it has. The world building, character building, and overall story are... great!
Since I am aware that the game is about to come to a sudden stop, I decided to download Trails in the sky SC already... man... this series is fun!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
@GirlVersusGame Excellent choice. Queen of the Damned is a great flick, soundtrack alone is worth the watch/listen 🤘
@Muttt I just finished CatQuest 3, it goes faster than the first two but it was great. There are a couple of missable sidequests that are hidden behind lost items, it's worth doing them for the rewards, even if you have to use a guide to find the items to start the quests.
Bought Tainted Grail to scratch that skyrim itch and its been really absorbing so far, so I want to play a lot more of that!
I also want to get back to Keeper, which deserves my time.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun. 👍
@ErrantRob I am indeed. We usually only get one big snow a year, so hopefully this is the one.
Arc raiders, kingdom come deliverance 2 and Witcher 3🎉😎
I picked up MIO: Memories In Orbit since it has been getting great reviews. I have to say, the reviews are in the mark — this game is awesome, but hard as hell.
I find the game to be quite excellent. There is a feeling of minimalism in a gorgeous, cell-shaded world. There are some moments with the soundtrack that brings me back to how I felt playing Death Stranding 1 & 2 because of how quiet it can be. That is an odd comparison, but very fitting.
The environments are all unique, although very similar to Hollow Knight and the Ori games. While it is familiar, it provides its own spin on how to traverse the world, and the dangers it presents. Speaking of, the platforming can be demanding, but the satisfaction you obtain by completing an obstacle is so rewarding. Just be prepared for a lot of trial and error.
The sense of progression is paced very well. There is always a stream of new abilities, with a plethora of combat modifiers and enhancements that can help during tough situations. Some of the unmissable abilities do seem useless, particularly the dodge mechanic. It essentially turns you invisible for a short period of time, but since most enemies are robotic in nature, there attacks are delayed and will hit you once you finish the dodge.
There are two issues I have with the game. Save points are very sparse, and the idea of backtracking can be really frustrating. You can easily die in two hits, and you’re going to because you’ll encounter new enemies with unique skill sets that you’re unlikely to know at the start. It’s basically trial by fire. You’ll eventually unlock shortcuts and abilities - a trope with the genre - but even then it can be a hassle.
The other quibble I have, albeit minor, are the boss fights and enemies. They are challenging, but not too demanding. However, they do tend to be repetitive in their aesthetic design. The fights themselves are varied, but when they tend to look the same they all feel disjointed. There are some enemies and bosses that have a big difficult spike — I’m looking at you Atmos — and it can be irritating where they spawn.
With that said, the accessibility options are fantastic. I’ve yet to use them, but they do assimilate problems where people struggle during difficult games such as Silksong. For example, there is an assist option that allows you to regain one health node when standing still. These won’t stack, so it’s a little reprieve from automatic death. Eroded Bosses will make boss fights weaker upon each failed attempt. If you combine that with some of the combat modifiers, it will help immensely.
Overall, I find MIO: Memories In Orbit to be a standout indie for the beginning of 2026.
I’m also playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the Switch 2. I’ve beaten this game three times for the PS4 & PS5, but I couldn’t resist the option for portability. I have been playing the game exclusively in handheld, and the game looks and runs silky smooth, with frame rate only dipping periodically in cutscenes. It feels like a dream to have a game like this I can take on the go.
Assassins Creed: Shadows. Game didnt get the praise it deserved at release. I prefer the gameplay of this one over Yotei.
Been playing Journey to the Savage Planet, in VR with motion controls through the UEVR app:

It's a mix of exploration, platforming and Metroidvania with a nice dash of comedy.
And during my nightshifts, YS: Memories of Celceta on PS VITA:

Enjoyable handheld action RPG. I need to check out more of the YS series.
I've been having a lot of fun playing MIO, it's a really fun Metroidvania.
@Zuljaras Undying is an underrated classic. Haven' played it since it came out though. Can't you use other users key bindings for Steam Deck games? I just got a Legion Go S and hope I don't have to manually set gamepad controls for older games, as it was such a pain doing it in Stalker and ARMA3.
Should be wrapping up the Platinum and 100% for Bloodborne, just gotta knock out the Old Hunters expansion. Been a journey.
I restarted KCD, I had made it about 5.5 hours in last time, then stopped playing. Restarting it, I’m already doing far more than I did last time and picking up on things I missed. I’ve leveled up a lot more in less time.
@ApostateMage superb game. Probably the best of the reboot trilogy
Felt shadow just felt a bit off though
Achilles: Legends Untold. A low/mid Diablo clone with soulslike qualities. Having fun with it.
This weekend I’m gin do some yardwork and grind death stranding 2 connections. Beat the game at launch then got distracted but it’s been very relaxing just delivering. Very much love this game.
I grabbed A QUIET PLACE: The Road Ahead on PS+ Extra this week so I’ve been playing that. It’s a decent enough game that reminds me a bit of ALIEN Isolation. Hope everyone enjoys whatever they’re playing this weekend! Happy gaming!
Ugh, how did I get so hooked on Power Wash Simulator 2? I was up till about 2 AM this morning cleaning a farmhouse. This game feels like some kind of psychiatric evaluation for people with OCD.
@GirlVersusGame yeah it's fun. We're almost done just mopping up side missions. Think we have one of the missing items left then a few things like the Duck boat and Cathulha.
@Link41x that game didn't do so well and I think reviews were meh but playing as Connery Bond was a dream come true for me. I loved it.
@Perturbator I can but I have some bug that does not let me export my layout as template.
Anyway I play the GOG version with the mod GOG Undying Renewed as it adds better resolutions, subtitles and more quality improvements.
I play nothing as there is no electricity in Kyiv.
I have a winter storm where I am at so I gotta be careful. But I’ll be playing Sonic Racing Crosswords and Fatal Fury COTW.
@Link41x I played From Russia with Love on PS2, it's definitely better than some of the others like The World is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies (so wooden) and 007 Racing (which really was a thing) Nightfire made up for all three.
I finally picked up Dreams of Another on psvr2. I was intrigued by the game, when it was announced, but I was not sure that I would like it enough for the full price. The current sale was convincing enough, and I played maybe 1-2 hours. Based on what I played so far, I think that it is an extraordinary game! I really like the rendering technique, the writing, the voice acting and the music. Certainly this is not for everybody, and the VR version may not be for people without relatively strong VR legs.
@iPaud Yeah it's great dumb fun, I didn't realise but I completed the Minister Screw side mission this week died a lot on the boss probably 8/9 times (expensive) only afterwards did I find out it was a free DLC mission (end game) so pretty chuffed I beat him at level 23!
Recently completed KCD2 so I wanted something light that didn't require much thought. This weekend I'll be playing Oblivion Remastered. I actually finished a playthrough right before it was released, so I let it simmer for a while. It's a game I come back to often, so to see it with a fresh coat of paint is fun.
This weekend I'm continuing to play Robotics;Notes on Switch after having finally beaten Fable II a couple hours ago.
Still chipping away at Witcher 3 but looking forward to starting M.I.O and the woolhaven dlc for cult of the lamb with my other half.
I am playing 2025 game of the year Clair obscur expedition 33. It deserves every award it has received. Amazing fun pleasantly suprised because I thought the game was hyped up, but its not. It truly is better than all the games that have come out in a while, The orignal death stranding is its only competition. Anyone who doesn't think Clair knocked it out the park has not played the game.
I finished Lies of P which was alright but I felt the grinder mechanic was garbage. No idea who felt that adding combat durability would be a good concept. Also felt it dropped off a little towards the end as the last three bosses were a bit overtuned compared to the rest of the game. Overall I would say it was 7.5/10
Now started Call of Cthulhu which is middling but I'm a sucker for anything Mythos related so I'm still enjoying it.
Jamie has excellent tastes; Arkham Origins is the best Arkham game
Continuing to focus on Unicorn Overlord until further notice. Granted it's available via PS+ catalogue, but given how much I really like the game, I decided earlier this week to support the devs and just buy the game anyways.
Hope your gaming weekend is a great one y'all!
@OldGamer999 probably my favorite Far Cry ever. Such an underrated game! And one of the only high budget games where you play as a caveman. Such an untapped setting for gaming. I’d love to see a sequel with more intense horror elements and linearity. My dream sequel to that game would be a mix between Far Cry Primal and Resident Evil 7. Make the wilderness scary as hell like it probably was for them back then.
Decided to replay Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Can’t quite put my finger on what would put me in the mood to play this again…
Trails Beyond Horizon. This is my filler game until a very stacked February
Definitely some more Elden Ring. Playing solely with a buddy after finishing the Lords of The Fallen reboot in co op. Couldn’t get into Elden Ring playin it solo but I’m liking having a buddy. Hopefully the next From game has seamless co op. When I’m solo I’ll probably continue working on the Tekken 8 platinum and continue my playthrough of Alan Wake 2.
Well I started playing Arc raiders but ball pit whispered in my ear so I played a bit of ball pit. Had lunch and thought well I'll start AC shadows and an hour into that ball pit whispered in my ear again so I've spent all afternoon and this evening playing ball pit. Hope you all have a great weekend folks 👍
I’m 25 hours into death stranding 2 and I’m loving it. Not sure how far I’m in just climbed up a snowy mountain which was fun 🤣
@Blacksmith1985 bummer. I hope you and your family are safe bud. As always my thoughts are with you all.
Bouncing between a couple things at the moment. Jedi Survivor on PS5 Pro, FFIX with the mogori mod on PC, and working on some retro achievements in the SNES Mega Man X trilogy.
Perfect weekend to get over a foot of snow. I'll be in gaming hibernation until Tuesday morning.
having completed AC Origins, I am now tackling AC Unity.
the biggest challenge I am facing is the different button mapping as I keep throwing smoke bombs when i am trying to light attack!
for a 2014 game the graphics are pretty cool and Paris feels very alive. the protoganist Arno also brings a smile to my face.
the combat is satisfying though actually more simplistic and i do like the stealthier emphasis. but it is leading me to fail far more often than in Origins despite taking a stealthy approach in that game too.
i think overall Origins is more my cup of tea, despite going into that game not the biggest RPG fan. however only 4 hours into Unity so still need to give it more time.
now that Black Flag remake seems to have bitten the dust - at least temporarily - i may tackle that after Unity but given I liked the RPG nature of Origins I may go Odyssey or Valhalla (despite the length criticisms).
any thoughts?
@Zuljaras spooky! i posted before i read the thread!!
Doing another NG run in Elden Ring using the Future Press guide book and not looking anything up online, having a blast. Mixing in some Spider-Man 2 as well. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
@old_gamer74 Odyssey is fantastic but a complete time sink. If you plan to go full completionist expected to spend 150+ hours (same for Valhalla). Also play as Kassandra.
BF6 with the fellas and then AOE II DE El Cid campaign when solo. Happy gaming everyone!
I’m enjoying the new stealth warbond and stealth oriented ‘commando’ missions in Helldivers 2. The missions are radically different than the norm due to extremely limited air support and reinforcements being stored in cryo chambers scattered throughout the map. Still while there are inevitably a rage quitter or two in every new group, those spots get filled quickly and teams collectively tend to succeed.
Right now the commando missions are specific to one bot planet but I expect they’ll find a way to add stealth missions to the squid and bugs eventually.
I’m also continuing to chip away at Roboquest VR. I’m focusing more on unlocking all the classes and their abilities than winning. That’s how I console myself each time my run comes up short anyway 😋.
I'm running a mage build in Elden Ring, and for once, I'm not doing too bad. I don't do soulslikes usually because my hand eye co-ordination is terrible, but I'm having fun with this one. I've learnt to not be bothered by dying. Finally.
Oh, in light of recent events, I'm going to play Wolfenstein 2: The New Collossus - it is a game about a fascist regime, neo nazist basically, that uses federal soldiers to prey on and kill off American people.
In the world, medias are cowardly censoring the voices of resistance, but you get sent in to clean up and deliver some brutal justice. It was mistakenly characterized as an fps, but really it is a realistic real-life sim
I just got into Arc Raiders and I am loving it! Solo matchmaking in this game is something I have never experienced in a extr-shooter ever before!
PS5 - Control
Switch 2 - DK Bananza
Quest 3 - Ghost Town
My ps5 will rest probably until RE Requiem so mainly playing on steamdeck when I have a time. Currently prefering short experiences like Journey, Little Nightmares DE, RE Revelations, mixing up with Balatro.
Looking forward to PL today ARS vs ManU, some NHL this evening too.
Have a nice weekend and happy gaming, everyone!
I have 2 games on the go on PS5 Pro right now. GT7 and Ghost of Tsushima. I'm playing Ball X Pit on Switch 2 as well.
@IntrepidWombat same here! In the Carolinas and waiting to see how this all turns out.
@Fox-McCloud astro is my favourite platinum I've earned. It was pure enjoyment from start to finish
Currently evaluating my PS4 Library, and even if I want to keep the PS4 or trade-in for something retro, so I'll probably jump into RDR2 so I can think while hunting legendaries. Outside of that, might play more Destroy All Humans and/or get started on the Karl Marx missions in AC Syndicate.
Outside of Sony, I've been meaning to play more Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, and I really want to get started on Drawn to Life. I really do mean it.
Playing Black Myth Wukong. Beat the story and secret boss. Now just preparing for NG+ to go for the platinum. The game is great and really love the combat.
I finished my first play through of Bioshock this weekend. What a way to start offthe new year. Onky took almost 20 years to get to it, but it felt like it was released yeterday. Definitely lived up to thr hype. Have a great weekend!
Tainted Grail and it’s awesome
I ended up finishing Call of Cthulhu yesterday and it was a pretty good fun little story that really amped up the madness towards the end. It was fairly short and in fairness the gameplay was not great, but I still enjoyed it as the story held its own.
Started Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed as I wanted something nice and simple before I start another bigger game.
