It's now February, and big AAA releases are finally starting to emerge. With Nioh 3 and Dragon Quest VII Reimagined out now, you could be tempted by a new game or still clearing your backlog. Here's what we've got to play this weekend.
Aaron Bayne
This weekend, I'm planning to wrap up SOMA. Somehow, it's completely passed me by, but it's so up my street, so better late than never!
Jamie O'Neill
With the recent news that the PS5 has officially outsold the PS3, I've been reminiscing about PS5 launch games, which led me back to replaying Frigid Floes in Astro's Playroom.
Simon Fitzgerald
This weekend I’ll be attempting to clear one of the bigger titles from my backlog, Metaphor. However with the release of a native PS5 version of Hollow Knight, I probably won’t be able to stop myself from diving into Hallownest yet again. This’ll only be my 4th playthrough, the most recent of which was just before Silksong launched. You can never have too much Hollow Knight, can you?
Stephen Tailby
I've been playing Split Fiction again, this time with my partner. Not that I didn't enjoy playing it with Aaron for the review, of course. It's so much fun to go through; just a constant joy with all its varied mechanics, all delivered pretty impeccably.
That's what's occupying our staff members and freelancers' time this weekend, but what have you got to play? Let us know in the comments below.

After the fantastic Season 2 of Fallout I got the urge to start Fallout New Vegas. This time on the Steam Deck! It plays like a dream!
I am near the end of Assassin's Creed Origins so I am continuing that. Just want to fully upgrade Bayek!
And finally got my hands on NeoGeo Collection Vol.9 JUST for Magician Lord! I LOVE that game!
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Dragon Age: The Veilguard mainly all weekend. Absolutely loving this game after thinking it was just ok. Also didn’t realise it was BioWare who made it as Mass Effect 2 is one of my all time favourites so that’s why it eventually clicked with me.
And after proving to myself for the umpteenth time that alcohol does NOT cure the common cold, I’m going to suffer most of the morning until my coffee kicks in.
Football as always as well 👍
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
Plain and simple: it's classic let's do some expert challenges in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 time
Arc raiders and kingdom Come Deliverance 2 🎉👹
No change for me this weekend. Almost finished with Red Dead Redemption, and continuing to play Patapon on my PSP. I'd forgotten how much fun Patapon is, even if it is a bit of a grind-fest at times.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Started another playthrough of god of war ragnarok, havent done a replay since it came out so mainly playing it this weekend. Also watch some rugby although not looking forward to the Wales game 😬
Started Ultros yesterday and will continue it today.
Tomorrow more Kcd2 and I am going to see Ronker. Their new lp released last week and its fantastic.
Have a great weekend!
@Onearmbandit yeah, I also greatly enjoyed it. It was such a surprise to me that I'm thinking about Playing Inquisition if it's anything like it.
Bravely Default Flying Fairy: The job system and combat are fun but where this series truly shines is its holy-*****-a-saurus plot twists. It seems like a standard "save the world" plot but things get... bonkers about halfway through and you get a whole new perspective on the plot and characters. It's wonderfully weird and all the more memorable for it.
Managed to beat Halls of Torment two days ago and now I'm trying to unlock everything else and get the remaining trophies. Such a great game. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoyed Vampire Survivors.
Resident evil 7 for me.
Also tried and really enjoyed the Pragmata demo
After 2 weeks on a cruise then the whole family being ill, it's nice to get back into some gaming again.
Just finished Tomb Raider Legend PS5 version. I've never played this before on PS2 but it's aged very well. Definitely a game of its time but still some classic old school Croft shenanigans- some puzzles really stumped my old brain ha ha.
Gonna restart and replay Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and attempt a speed run. I really like this game. Yes it's outdated in it's design, it's a game from the 00s and I understand the criticism but im just a sucker for Metroid games. Some fantastic boss fights too and the ice level is superb.
Will also get in some online bouts of the brilliant new brawler 2XKO...will no doubt get my ass kicked !
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
2nd playthrough of the legendary Baldur's Gate 3 with the masterpiece Karlach, can't say this enough, Karlach is just one of the best characters of all time! Still continuing the adventures of Henry in KCD2. Plus some CP2077 and MHWilds.
On the Pro Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. My first Dragon Quest was 11 Definitive Edition on the Switch and I loved that. Im also trying to finish Silent Hill f
@Onearmbandit ..i think we are the only 2 people who loved DA Veilguard. Those specific character questlines are utterly brilliant. So well written
Finished forbidden west 100% platinum so now onto Roadcraft. Really enjoying it besides the annoying pop-in. And naturally more Diablo4 grind
I will be getting the last few trophies for Diablo IV. As I have now reached Paragon 200. Then will need to find a new game to sink my time into. Always the hardest to find a new game, after sinking over 100hours into a previous one. Happy Gaming All
Hoping to finish the Nioh 3 demo this weekend. I've got the full game coming, but I want my free hat, damn it
Helldivers II and Nioh III for me.
So much for not playing anything until Resident Evil gets here 🤷
I'll mostly be playing Octopath Traveller Zero on the Switch, absolutely loving this game!
I'll also continue with Power Wash Simulator which seems to have no end..
Finally I recently started Expedition 33 and I'm probably the only one but...what the hell was the hype and fantastic reviews about??I absolutely love these kind of games but I really don't understand all the fuss. The battle system is excellent but over all its just ok.
Enjoy your weekend all
@LiamCroft any chance of a poll on these threads? I’ve been asking for it every week. Can’t be that hard to try it out for a week and see if it works for you guys, like with your sister site Nintendo Life
Cracking on with Cairn and looking through the backlog for a longer game to go alongside it - maybe it's time to finally start Metaphor: ReFantazio...
I have Expedition 33 but unsure when to start it as I’m so busy. I don’t feel like I want to dip into it for 15 mins and want some decent time to begin. So Im at a bit of a loose end for gaming.
I did the weekly races on GT7 last night, it has dragged me in again after the Christmas update and gifts. The rest of the weekend free time will be Skull and Bones.
Still playing Silent Hill 2. Great game. Happy gaming weekend everyone!
i’ve been playing games that i started and abandoned in the late 2010’s, completed botw and rdr2 recently so now it’s the vanilla version of dragon quest xi turn.
I am playing through Dishonest 2 and thinking it is great with moments of excellence which stand out even when experiencing it 10 years after its debut. Makes me want to play the original which boasts over 100 awards.
I have this meandering approach to what games I play.
I also started up Undisputed and to my excitement it has Muhammad Ali and other licensed boxers
My goal is to play PSVR2 + BG3/KCD 2, but they're always there and therefore I find myself browsing PS plus libraries and finding games to try instead.
@KingPev Agreed, the writing is phenomenal.
Got split fiction to play with the wife. We’ll see how she likes it.
Shin Megami Tensei 5 for me, and going back to FF7 remake for the 3rd playthrough
Hopefully be able to play and finish Indivisible.
Probably some sf6 too ^^
Gravity Guy (Windows Phone) - Still wading through this, some brutal levels though tbh.
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - I have a such a love/hate relationship with this game. Sometimes I really like it, but right now I really hate being stuck...
Asphalt Overdrive (Windows Phone) - I can get this running about half the time. When I can race, I'm enjoying it.
Finish off Rogue trader
@naruball I think I tried it yonks ago but like Veilguard I wasn’t really feeling it. Which means I may try it again too 😂
Except for trying the Pragmata demo, which is very promising but I'm a bit concerned the hacking while fighting gets old fast, I've paused all other games and only been focusing on:
Fallout 4 - I've been continuing my journey through the wasteland and I'm a bit surprised that I'm enjoying it as much as I do, given the the game suffers from a couple of flaws and imo is weaker than 3 and NV. I think one obvious part of that is that exploring the wasteland is awesome, but also that I dont remember all the details of the story or the different factions, and I have forgotten many of the side quests too and some of them are pretty good and that makes it all feel fresh. I'm at the end of the main story/stories (doing all the endings, then the platinum) but I havent decided which end to stick with. Probably BoS 🙂
will try the Little Nightmares 3 demo on portal, i might buy the full game later now when its stream and play
I'm going to finish Ghost of Yotei. I'm 63% through. Just taking my time and enjoying the world and side activities.
Started RE4 and loving it so far.
Have a great weekend everyone
Assassin's Creed Shadows
Assassinated the Shinbakufu target is Wakasa. Currently Level 48
Everything
A game in which to can play as absolutely anything from a subatomic particle to a galaxy. Unique concept but not sure how long it will hold my interest.
Final Fantasy IV
Just started the pixel remaster.
Still trying to get the platinum for Borderlands 4 and I've downloaded Undisputed and Fallout 76 so maybe give 1 of them a try later because I'm getting a little bored of BL4.
I will be playing the wonderful cocoon.i will also be playing the terrific neon white.i will also be playing the awsome death door.and i will also be playing the outstanding ultros.i will be watching my 💛💙 michigan wolverines playing.i will also be watching my boston celtics 💚 🖤 playing.i will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers.and saved by the bell.word up son
My single player game at the moment is Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. I’m enjoying it but I find some things really annoying. Poor hit detection, the jump button sometimes stops working and a couple times I’ve been hit by something and flat out died even though I have gems.
If I finish that I’m gonna move onto Killer Frequency which I’ve been wanting to play for a while and for £3.99 you can’t go wrong!
I’ll also be playing Wayfinder co-op with my brother. I went into this blind and I’m rather enjoying it. It looks really good and the combat is satisfying. Only negative so far is the performance isn’t amazing in the bigger areas with frequent stutters.
Then later tonight I’m gonna be starting Abiotic Factor which I’m excited for.
@Bundersvessel Do not use the Upgrade option in the Blacksmith for your weapons. Just use the weapons that drop naturally from enemies and chests. Upgrading is only worth to bring a legendary weapon to your current level at the max level.
Upgrade your equipment when you can with animal goods.
Use the Reload current Quest/Mission option to farm animal lairs for upgrade materials.
Today I'm bouncing between Dicey Dungeons, Crow Country, Art of Rally and Time Recoil. Might have a round or two on Killing Floor 3 as well.
Or I may just watch a load of Winter Olympics and some footie.
Have a good weekend PSPeople.
I've been playing:
Square old games not just they age well but they also have very high replayability compare to the new ones. Man, i really miss Squaresoft...sigh, if only they didn't merge with Enix.
Enjoy your weekend everyone 🍻
Playing some Hades 2 - still absolutely loving it, I just think it's a fantastic evolution of the original. By my count I've got a couple more runs to do before reaching the "ending", although I imagine I'll be playing it for a good while longer afterwards!
Nioh 3 and it’s going to be that way for a while!
Finished death stranding 2 story and i absolutely loved it. On to the final chapter now and grinding out for the platinum
New fem shep run through Mass effect trilogy on my steamdeck. Or Valhalla on PC mixed with some ACC, and maybe dust the PS5.
I bought Ninja Gaiden Ragebound last week, will finally crack it open this weekend. After Tales Of Graces overstayed it's welcome I need to play something which values my time lol
I'm having a racing weekend I think. I'm going to jump into forza horizon 5 as its been a while and all the talk about FH6 recently has made me itchy for some good old arcade racer fun. Have a great weekend folks 👍
@KingPev count me in i enjoyed it as well
Hades - nearly there, escaped 8 times.
Witcher 3 - what a game.
Finally met the beautiful, yet rookie-ish cast of Trails from Zero. At the end of chapter 1, but man the few call backs to previous games is fun.
Besides solving crime around Crossbell I will be bringing passengers from country to country in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Still can't believe I'm simming on my PS5🥲. Great times to be a gamer.
Have a great (gaming) weekend everyone!
Ghosts of yotei im playing on not really feeling it yet need more time i know ill love it when it clicks i loved the 1st game and playing on forza as well on ps5 incredible loving that game
84 hrs and still enjoying Octopath Traveler 0 I have the Dragonquest 7 Reimagined demo installed but haven't gotten around to it. And it's Superbowl weekend, hope the Patriots lose. Have a great weekend gamers!
@Dan12836666 ...ah hello, welcome to.our club ! 😂😂
Much to my surprise, my clearance sale pick-up of Fatal Fury City of the Wolves is proving to be rather enjoyable. Noodling about at single player content for now, probably won't go online with it.
Absolum has been parked until the big update hits next week, though in an epic case of "one more run", I've finished it for the first time with Brome. Only Cider left to finish it now, and I popped a trophy for successfully visiting every level in the game.
Picked up my save last year from Fallout 4, which is actually the only Fallout title I've rolled the credits on (back at PS4 launch). It's the GotY, I'm level 45, so debating starting either the Far Harbour or Nuka World expansions.
Decided to re-roll a Dark Souls 3 character. Have sped my way to the Ashes of Ariandel expansion/Cathedral of the Deep. I actually managed to push past those and get to Farron Keep without realising, so I backtracked. The level design is still immaculate, and dare I say the bosses are more fun than Elden Ring's as they're designed to be tackled solo (ER is the only Fromsoftware game that I ever requested some jolly cooperation in due to how cheap some of the bosses are).
Banging on with AI Limit to reach the end so I can get back to Nioh 3. I also am working on Art of Rally which I’m really enjoying. Beyond that I’ve got a backlog of started games I’d like to also work on.
Rolled credits on Trails into Reverie last night. I'll mess around with the epilogue a bit and continue my way through Control.
Have a good weekend, everybody.
Dragon Quest 7 Remake!
I am on the 51st mission in King Arthur: Knight's Tale, which I am very much enjoying. I only have a couple of side quests, and one main mission left, I believe, so I may actually finish the game tomorrow. Then I will be jumping on Code Vein 2.
Also, today, I am about to jump on a Horde in Gears 5 with my mate, where we will attempt an Inconceivable run as just a duo (with 3 useless bots!).
We attempted a Master run yesterday as a trio, with my youngest son as the third player, but he's not available today. Unfortunately a bit of bad luck ended our two runs firstly on wave 30 and then on the second run on wave 40. We'll knock it out next weekend, I reckon, which will then mean we have Mastered 14 out of the 37 maps as just a trio in a mode meant for a team of 5, which is pretty good going. Both my mate and myself are in the top 100 rankings for our classes in the World, and we dedicate a lot of time to the game. Hopefully E-Day will offer a quality Horde mode too, and I cannot wait to see what they have cooked up there...
@KingPev make it 3! I also loved it. 👌
Yesterday, I finished up playing Lies of P again. I did a NG run on the PS4 version for trophies then played the DLC for the first time on NG+ on my PS5 save file. I absolutely loved the DLC. I don’t normally play DLC unless it’s one of my mainstay games, but I dived into this one. No regrets. I need Lies of P 2 ASAP.
Probably going to slowly continue my replay of Yakuza 0 on the PS5. It’s one of the best Kiryu games IMO. I’m immensely disappointed Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties shares a trophy list. Because of that, I’m going to hold off on buying it. I would’ve bought it Day 1 to play Mine’s Gaiden game easy.
More Horizon Forbidden West for me. I'll probably be playing this one for months. I absolutely love it though, so that's fine by me. The game feels a lot more challenging than Zero Dawn, so battles are feeling a lot more risky. I certainly can't rely on explosives as much as I did in the first game since the resources are a lot more scarce right now.
I’ve got the next few days off from work, so I’m itching to catch up on Pirate Yakuza and continuing Dave the diver.
This will (hopefully) be the weekend I finally finish Infinite Wealth, after Nurmagomedov versus Davis (MMA fight) then it's back to some virtual fighting of my own. I thought two hundred hours for a game was a lot but apparently it's not for that franchise. It never ends, happy gaming weekend folks.
Dragon Quest 7 reimagined 💙💙💙 Love it
I’ve kind of been in a funk, so I think I’m going to take a brief hiatus from gaming until Resident Evil Requiem releases, or perhaps Yakuza 3 Kiwami, if the reviews are solid. I sincerely haven’t gone longer than a singular day playing something for over five years, but I think it’ll be good to step away.
I have, however, been reading a lot more than usual — I do it often, but as of late I’m more ferociously. My wife convinced me to read the Fourth Wing series. I was skeptical because, as much as I love fantasy, the steamy romance scenes aren’t my cup of tea, so I went in expecting to dislike the book(s). Several days later, I finished all three books. They were quite incredible. I’m now reading The Will of the Many by James Islington, and it’s fantastic. The world building has been incredible, and the setting has my imagination running wild.
@PuppetMaster Vagrant Story was such a great game. Its the game I really want them to remaster or fully remake as it was the peak of Square on PS1 imo. The weapon / armour crafting system alone was huge for a game of its time.
I've just reached the Labyrinth on Silent Hill 2 so I hope to finish that this weekend. Overall its a brilliant title and I would fully trust Bloober to do 1 and 3. Its another case where the OLED has really helped elevate the game. Dark parts like the prison are very tense when you can't see anything outside of your torch beam. The dual sense static sounds also really helps to ramp that tension up more as it layers quite loudly over the other audio.
Aside from that I picked up loads of games this weekend from trading my PS4 and PS5. Grabbed Astro Bot, Silent Hill F, Ghost of Yotei, Armoured Core 6, Rise of the Ronin, Nioh 3 and Stellar Blade. I will start with Nioh 3 I think as I can't wait to get going with it.
I also picked up a PS3 Superslim as my old PS3 broke years back so I might treat myself to some Guitar Hero for old times sake
EDIT: I may also take a look at the Pragmata demo as its on my wishlist
Mopping up achievements on new game plus in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
I really like the slow pace and lack of enemy encounters compared to the previous two survivor series games. It's like a throwback to the original Tomb Raider.
Spiritfarer, a cozy but sad game about helping the dead enter the afterlife. Hits me right in the feels at times.
I bought Battle of Asciion on the Steamdeck and that’s a neat little curio. I’m mostly playing “waiting for Mario Tennis to come out next week.” I’m feeling ready to play my “first big game of the year.”
I have eshop credit on the Switch and Bomberman is looking more appealing than it probably should because I’m ready to buy something good. I might do it. I started watching my son play Monster Hunter Stories 3 yesterday too and I suspect we’ll continue.
Still playing through the excellent Trails Beyond the Horizon
Been going back to RE2 Remake, playing for the first time on PS5, played originally on PS4, it's a nice upgrade. Downloaded the Arcade Archives title Top Speed, which is twitchy to play, but a nice OutRun style game to discover, Chase HQ without the chase part. Also playing some Ridge Racer-R4 (PS1) and Ridge Racer 2 (PSP), on PS5.
Retro console-wise, will be some Streets of Rage on the Mega Drive I think.
I’ll be traversing through history as part samurai, part ninja, 100% scampuss lover. Happy gaming!
Raji. Fun little Indian Indy. Learning a lot about Indian gods and culture while playing.
I just finished Killing Floor 2 last night and with my pre-order of RE9 delayed until mid March I need to find a game to play until then. I’ve considered The Last Descendant since it’s free and a long game (to platinum) but it’s grindy and apparently not that good. I’ve also considered Insurgency Sandstorm since I like shooters and it’s on PS+ Extra but it’s apparently difficult and a MP game. Then there’s Metal Eden, ALIEN Rogue Incursion and ROBOCOP Unfinished Business, all of which are on sale right now but are short games. Not sure what to play……??? If anyone has any experience and thus thoughts on any of these or suggestions, it would be appreciated.
Trails Beyond the Horizon. It's a great game but like all Trails games, it can be very long. Anyone able to play these games without the (thankfully added) High Speed mode, truly has the patience of Job
@mac_da_man I think Fallout 4 comes in for a lot of unfair criticism. It's got its flaws for sure, but the gunplay is considerably better than the other 3D games, and the world is quite colourful and pretty at times.
I ha been mostly playing (if you know, you know) Tainted Grail, it feels like the Lords of the Fallen of Elder Scrolls games or a Dark Souls/Elder Scrolls crossover (I'll just say 'Kyreth'. It's huge too, I've still not finished the second area, and I'm over 100 hours in).
I've had a couple of crashes and a couple of stutters (mainly in the first castle area and mostly after a long session, which restarting tends to fix). They've also just dropped a patch (1.16) which fixes some things and improves performance.
It's the James Edward Almost of Elder Scrolls games and I'm getting a big soft spot for it.
Oh and Subnautica because it's awesome
Have a great weekend folks!
Plan on continuing Nioh 3 this weekend.
I’m on vacation now. I’ll be putting in more time for Silent Hill f.
Nioh 3! Admittedly I haven't been able to make much progress since it launched Thursday but hoping to change that
And Trails in the Sky FC, im a good ways in the final chapter now. Gonna mop up the last bit of side content then finish it to focus on nioh 3
Arc, Absolum and BF6, nearly time for expedition 2 on Arc so I'm smashing the PvP. Have plenty of rank 4 everything to lose after being on friendly servers for about a week.
Wrapped up the Watch Dogs platinum and that game has aged really well. Also wrapped up Arise which was a great time and a heartfelt story. Been revisiting games so next up might be Spirit of the North to polish those trophies off. I bought Loveish which looks absolutely amazing so I might get to that as well.
Completed Metal Gear Solid over the week. Fantastic game. On to Xenogears.
Just got 100% on Wo Long. Solid stuff, not as enjoyable nor difficult as the Nioh games but still a good time. Some of the third DLC's bosses were quite the challenge.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 is coming out soon so I don't want to start any other long games now, so I might go back to Balatro for a bit (still need to get all golden stickers).
Oh, and I'll try the Nioh 3 demo.
I started Nioh 3 with the demo the day before the release and ended up buying the full game.
Slowly going through ff7 remake hard mode. Started the Nioh 3 demo. I’m terrible so not sure if I’ll make the full purchase. I’ve been in a gaming funk.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
Trails in the Sky and Stellar Blade
Tainted Grail. Its really scratching that Bethesda rpg itch and Im really enjoying it.
Whatever your playing, I hope you have a great weekend!
Octopath Traveller 2 on the Portal and Trails in the Sky SC on Vita. Itching to get to the Crossbell games next as I continue my Trails Journey
This week I finished STALKER 2 (main story in 60 hours).
I really enjoyed the game and the performance was quite good on my PS5 Pro.
I was determined to start KCD 2, but NIOH 3 (Iove the previous ones) got in the way .
Already played 6 hours and it´s been very addictive.
In the coming weeks I'll try to alternate between NIOH 3 and KCD2, but it won't be easy, because both require a lot of dedication.
Recently finished Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade so now finally starting Rebirth (PS5). On Switch 2, Fantasian Neo Dimension, which I bought in a sale at the end of 2025.
Dq7 reimagined, diablo 4, and a touch of fantasy life.
Might dip into my enormous backlog too, maybe start my trek into death stranding 2.
Escape from Ever After has broken the gaming slump! Loving it!
I've been wanting to start something new for a while, but I just can't stop myself from playing Elden Ring and thinking about it when I'm not lol
On my second playthrough, I'm 60+ hours in and I'm doing stuff I hadn't when I played it for the first time in 2022. I loved it too back then but I was gifted Splatoon 3 midway through and I ended up playing that exclusively for months lol
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (Switch) Cleaning up a few of the minor rifts and doing some small things before tackling Hyrule Castle.
Forza Hroizon 2 (Series X) Just finished my third Championship and headed over to the next one. Absolutely enjoying this game and its easy to see why this ranks as one of the top Forza games.
Final Fantasy Pixal Remaster (Series X) Still working on this one. Been grinding mostly but I finally have enough to buy all my level 4 spells now.
Borderlands 3 (Series X) Hopefully will be wrapping up another DLC this weekend. I enjoyed this last one alot and loved the western theme.
Nioh 3. That is all.
Nioh 3 for me. So far its been excellent.
After grabbing the 100%/Platinum for Bloodborne I’ve been in a weird funk of not knowing what to play (the troubles of completing a masterpiece,) so decided to throw on a few grinds. Halls of Torment for the Portal, and The Division 2 as my main. Should keep me busy till Crimson Desert.
@ilyn I prefer remaster like they did with FF Tactics. For a remake, i'm worry the current Square gonna messed up the artstyle, story, and gameplay. Unless they hired the original team including Matsuno to handle the project.
Slowly progressing through Little Nightmares and RE Revelations on steamdeck. Currently hard to find more time for ps5 gameplay, but I hope this will improve until RE Requiem is out.
Today also looking forward to watching LFC vs Man City, hopefully with some good result for LFC.
Have a nice weekend, gamers!
This weekend has been all on Switch. 4PGP has dominated my time. What a fun throw back to the Sega arcade era. And also in Switch I’ve play a bunch of Streat Fighter 3 3rd Strike from the SF collection. Such a good experience playing with the 8bit-do 6 button pad. Have a great weekend!
This weekend I’ve played DQ7 Remastered (early in but I’m enjoying it), GT7, Helldivers 2 (the cyborgs haven’t surfaced quite yet but the bots are as nasty as ever) and Roboquest VR.
All the hype around the new Fable actually got me to hook up my ancient old 360 and get into some old school Fable 2, one of my all-time favorites, Shocked the old girl can still run a game.
Art of Rally , absolutely hooked . Brilliant game.
I picked up Gran Turismo 7, my first Gran Turismo game. I'm really loving the vibe, with the chill cafe full of car nerds geeking out, and the jazzy and classical menu music. It has a very different feel overall compared to any other racing games I've played (FH5, Dirt 5, Dirt Rally 2, WRC games).
Those other games also tend to be overwhelming, either throwing 100 flashy things at you all at once or just dropping you in and expecting you to figure it out. GT7 eases you in really well, especially as a newcomer.
I'm not even a car guy and I've never watched any motorsports, but I'm really liking all these personalities gushing about what makes XYZ car special, and I enjoy reading the histories in the museum area. It's kinda like when you have a friend who's really passionate about something, you can appreciate the passion even if you don't necessarily care about the specific topic very much. That's how I feel with this game: the creators are clearly passionate about cars.
Hunt Showdown and replaying some old titles, Bloodborne, Ff16, even a bit of Far Cry 3 and 4.
Sadly my copy of Nioh 3 didn't arrive so I finished Silent Hill 2 and then had a bit more of a play on Townsmen VR before starting a Sellsword twinblade run on DS3 for a challenge. I usually play shield builds as I suck at dodging and parrying, so this certainly added a challenge.
