Shall we let you in to a little secret: you’re in the future right now.
While you’re reading this in 2026, we’re writing it while it’s still 2025. So, what’s it like out there? Are we driving hover cars yet? Did the PS6 get announced already? The mind boggles.
Obviously, we know deep down that this year will be more of the same, but from a PlayStation persuasion that can only be a good thing – after all, 2025 had one of the most stacked release schedules in recent memory, and the next 12 months look even crazier right now.

In fact, the first three months of the year alone are outrageous. We’ve got Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined and Resident Evil Requiem all due within the next few weeks. It’s a veritable feast of gaming goodness.
Last year we wrote out a trio of site goals for the months ahead, but we don’t think that’s necessary this time around. We know what you expect from us, and it aligns with our underlying objective: to be the best place to discover, learn, and discuss PlayStation. Simple, right?
This year should a fun one for fans of Sony’s gaming brand: not only will this be the peak year for the PS5, but we suspect we’re also going to begin learning more and more about the PS6.
And honestly, even though we’re looking ahead to the likes of Marvel’s Wolverine and GTA 6, there are always surprises. We can’t wait to share those with you.
In the meantime, all that’s left for us to say is Happy New Year. Thanks for choosing to spend it with us.

Happy New Year, everyone!
Happy new year for everyone at NintendoLife, PureXbox, PushSquare and TimeExtension!
May GTA VI finally release! May Pragmata be an amazing new IP! May Ace Attorney 7 finally be announced! May we get some amazing first party games from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony! And most of all, may we see little to none layoffs and may the AI bubble burst!
Happy New Year to all my fellow Push Squarians. Many thanks to the PS crew for all the wonderful content through 2025. Roll on 2026!
Happy New Year, you swanky swogglers!
Happy new years guys and all this wonderfull community
May you all game wonderfully this year
Happy new year to one and all.
Edit: I want to add Fatal Frame 2 remake to the list, and maybe Code Violet but that game does seem like a massive red flag, also no mention of Nioh 3, so already the start of year is stacked (for me personally at least)
Happy new year keep on gaming.have fun.and enjoy life.word up son
When was this written. 007 was recently delayed wasn't it? Definitely won't be out in next few weeks unless we are counting 10weeks plus as a few weeks.
Now my pedantic side has been itched happy new year one and all.
Played some great games in 2025, some were from 2025, some prior releases.
I'll be on 2025 games for a good few weeks or more yet.
Looking forward to Resi 9, 007, wolverine etc this year.
Hello there fellow gamers and PushSquare Staff.
I wish a Very Happy New Year of 2026 to everyone in the Gaming Comunity.
May this year be one of many Great and exciting Games for us to play and enjoy, as well as good Fortune and Health so we can continue this crazy adventure that is called Life.
Cheers, all the very best and happy gaming to us all
Happy new year to PushSquare staff and members 🍻
Happy new year. My wishes are for GTAVI and a new game from ND.
Happy new year!
"We’ve got Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Resident Evil Requiem, and 007 First Light all due within the next few weeks. "
007 First Light has a May release date, how's that in the next few weeks?
Happy new year!
looking forward to june 6th !
Did you write this before 007 was delayed?
Happy new year everybody 👍
Happy New Year all, may all your hangovers be small ones😂
Happy New year 🎉
Happy New Year 🎉🎊
Also you missed out the first big game this year, Trails Beyond the Horizon which comes out in 15 days.
2025 was full of ups and downs as far as gaming went. Lots of highs regarding game releases, and lots of lows as far as price increases for various gaming related things. Maybe things will improve as we all start our New Year+ playthrough

"Push Square"...as a Yank from the states this site has become almost a daily stop on my daily browsing of the interwebs for close to a decade. I love this community. Thank you Sammy and Co
Happy New GTA Year everyone. Hope you all have a great year!
@RBMango
Thank you friend.
"Happy New Year" to you, too...
Happy new year to everyone!
Happy New Year you all! Still playing a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 and some MH Wilds today.
Happy New Year!! Wishing everyone a better 2026 than 2025!! 🤞🏽
@Czar_Khastik To finish your last line, "Put them before any Moes"!! 😸
Happy New Year everyone. Sammy and the team are great, but it is the community that keeps me coming back. Here is to more in 2026. Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
@DrVenture69 go big or go home 👍
And a happy new year to you's, looks like we're heading into another stellar year of gaming.
Happy new year, y'all! There are already some games confirmed for this year that look interesting to me (whether I pick up any of them is another thing entirely though 😅).
Happy new year to all of you.
Happy New Year. I have to ask is it “from a PlayStation persuasion” or did you want to say “PlayStation perspective”? it’s been nagging me since I read it earlier.
Happy New year fellow gamers 🎮
May 2026 be full of health, happiness and awesome games
Sadly no, we're not driving hover cars yet. Science has even failed to give us the hoverboards I've wanted since 1985.
Happy New Year anyway everyone!
@darthvirgin Nope. The editor of the site wrote this 5 hours ago… 🙄
Happy New Year, y'all!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
In 2026 I´d love to concentrate more on games I already have than buying new ones maybe except one which is RE Requiem
Happy New Year and Happy Gaming!!!
Happy New Year fellow gamers from Down Under!
Looking forward to seeing the Push Square community continue to thrive and for some cracking games in 2026!
Happy New Year, PS. I am fully prepared to be a Capcom shill this year. RE: Requiem, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Pragmata will all be day one purchases for me. Falcom will have a few too, but I'm still stacking Trails games in wrappers until I get back to playing JRPGs again.
The last thing I need to buy is more games, but I'm going to be eating great this year for new releases. How exciting!
Happy New Year everyone!!
2026 will be the year Bloodborne gets back into the headlines in a big way.
You heard it here first!
Happy new year all teams.

@PushSquare web staff. Not a fan of the drop down being large just to sign out or access other features, and covering up more of the screen. On a laptop it's really awkward regardless of page scaling, I actually for once prefer the smaller drop down list then the larger one. Can you offer options for toggling between both large and small scale lists? Please that would be great. Or is it just intended to stay as one design, aka the large one, or is it a bug being larger? Any info on this would be great.
I know when studying web design I had these issues I think too with scaling navigation bars and more but that's just my lacking skills.
Ok the smaller one is back again. Is this a bug the larger one? Or between window scaling. Might be. Is there a way I can restrict it more when viewing the site?
Ok windowed only allows manage topics. That's weird. Might be Windows 11 instead, I hate this OS never had these issues on Windows 10 weeks ago till it's end date. Don't think it's my web browser as using the same one. Maybe my graphics driver hmm.
I only came back to the site a few days/week again and was surprised by this change or maybe it's for smaller devices or whatever scaling. Not a fan of it.
Anyone experience this on your end? Might just be my device. Either way keep up the good work.

But I think this year will be just as bad as 2024/2025 (yes I am continuing to start are downer, I don't change or have resolutions or other nonsense I just do things regardless, years don't mean anything to me) were for games and not as decent as 2017 to 2023 were of games I'm looking for. Aka 2017 to 2023 was the I'm going to start collecting as gaming sucks so much in directions I am not interested in but we still have 'some' decent stuff coming out. Doesn't change the fact that PS5/Series consoles really aren't appealing still. Sure I have some 'decent' games I care for of Ride 5 or 6 (if they are as bad as 4 was), WRC 2023/24, a few of the hit and miss flops I were decent of 2022/2023, some FMV games on current gen only, but otherwise eh. Even if I maybe have some 10 games for 9th gen I still don't HAVE to experience them. They aren't that exciting or need worthy. I can wait on all of them.
Other then Rhythm Heaven Groove a niche Nintendo 1st party IP, yeah not looking forward to much if anything at all for 2026 in other genres by others really, I'd have to look around more but, even if 'currently known date' list articles/videos, nothing interests me in those as they aren't the type of games I care for.
I hang out in some Indie game Discords like the Clive n Wrench one and I still see a lot of 'fan game/not that great' games, it's not their skill level or budget it's just a lot of inspired/mentality boring games with not enough separation by them just too much reference material and boring direction, at least for Indie platformers.
Even Rhythm Heaven Groove is an anomaly as not really a rhythm game or minigame/party game fan but I enjoy the series, didn't even experience Wario Ware, I did Rhythm Heaven first.
We will see but to me this year isn't exciting at all.
But we will see if I find any decent stuff on the PS Store/Nintendo eshop like I did 2025.
Happy New Year from Milano, Italy 🎉🎉
Merry New Year, my fellow gamers!
Happy new year everyone and pushsquare and well done on your hard work this year on here
Happy new year everyone
@rustym82 You're right, this was written before the delay. I'll edit that now.

Happy New Year to everyone.
Happy new year gamers! 2026 is gonna be peak for sure
