It's glacial outdoors so you've genuinely never had a better excuse to cuddle up on the couch and enjoy some good old fashioned video games. You better get working on your backlog to be honest, because the release schedule is about to get bonkers.

I've got a couple of embargoed games in the mix that I can't talk about at the moment. However, I've actually made the rare move to download a PC game, No Rest for the Wicked, so I'll also be giving that a go this weekend.

The icy pavements left behind by Storm Goretti have long since melted away, but there's snow aplenty in the final chapters of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, including during the Escape From Starkiller Base.

This weekend is all about Yakuza 0 Director's Cut for me. Other than my Infinity Nikki dailies, I'm all in on managing my hostess club and earning billions of yen. And battering people. I was planning on getting the Platinum in the PS5 versions of Kiwami, Kiwami 2, and 0 before Kiwami 3 releases but that obviously ain't happening so I'll just have to settle for 0.

I'm a bit torn about whether I want to finish the Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined demo and import my progress when I buy the full thing, or just wait and start the whole story from scratch once I own it. I'll need to make a decision soon.
That's what we're playing this weekend, then. Another eclectic mix, to be fair. What about you? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

Continuing with Assassin's Creed Unity as I am committed to finish the story. I am really enjoying the game. Currently on Sequence 7. Maybe next I will play Black Flag
On the side I will play some Guilty Gear and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. And for nostalgia with really awkward controls WarCraft 2. There is something weird and satisfying in playing RTS games on consoles like WarCraft 2 and StarCraft 64!
Have awesome gaming weekend everyone!
Passing out from exhaustion, puking due to a parasite, bandaging my lacerations and hallucinations. Some Green Hell as well 😉
Maybe a bit of Hades too as need to bond with one more God.
Lots of football also👍
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
On Playstation:
Astro Bot
Completed the Tentacle System and rescued all bots. Finished the Slo-Mo Casino, Bathhouse Battle, and Free Big Brother levels in the Serpent Starway. 107 out of 301 bots rescued.
On other platforms:
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Delivered wooden beams to Västerås, watermelons to Linköping, and a wheel loader to Oslo. Opened garages in Copenhagen and Oslo. After 97 days my Ziggurat Spedition trucking empire has 37 trucks.
Keeper
Finished the game. Wasn't expecting such a psychedelic trip near the end. The guys at Double Fine are geniuses. A-Tier.
Completed The Last of Us 2 during the week. Really enjoyed it but I think the first still edges it.
Then started playing Red Dead Redemption which I have been engrossed in.
Probably finish that this weekend, then I’m debating playing AstroBot, Shenmue, Fallout 4 or Silent Hill 2.
Once I finish RDR, I want three games on rotation just incase I get burnout just playing the one game.
Will have a look on the switch and pick 2 others tomorrow probably.
Continuing with Death Stranding 2 probably while not trying to burn myself out. I'll probably stick to the main story because of it. It often happens to me in sandbox games that I'm trying to do everything and eventually I get burnt out half way through. Trying to avoid that this time while not trying to experience fomo at the same time. Gamer issues, lol.
More Red Dead Redemption and Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles for me this weekend.
I'm onto Ys 2 now and the design has improved significantly from the first one - much better boss battles, for one thing, and more options in general gameplay thanks to the addition of magic. The two games work really well together as a single package. The lovely 2D visuals and gorgeous soundtrack don't hurt either.
Enjoy your weekend guys and gals.
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond: Loving going behind the visor once more. The new Psychic abilities are well integrated, and Vi-O-La is fun to roam around on. Flare Belt in particular is a visual standout, but I love the almost mournful music playing in Sol Valley. Welcome back, Samus.
I'm going to test out a new remote play app on Steam called PSStream. So far the remote play seems really good and works well, but more interestingly it claims to have the ability to stream games without the PS5, ala PS Portal. I'll have to upgrade my PS+ membership to try it though.
Other than that, some GT7 as usual, and some RPG, maybe I'll finally start the Trails first chapter game.
Still yanking pizzles in Bohemia.
KCD2.
Have a great weekend!
@Duck_Farmer Astro Bot is one heck of a platforming masterpiece; Slo-Mo Casino is probably my favourite stage as well, since I really like the ability you use there.
As for me, I'm kinda addicted to playing Unicorn Overlord via PS+ catalogue right now. Great tactics-style gameplay and both the worldbuilding and characters are top-notch. Might do a bit more level grinding first before I make further progress in the south-western region of Fevrith.
Also playing a bit more Squeakross (aka more picross) on my Steam Deck on the side.
Stay warm and have a great gaming weekend y'all!
I just got Destroy All Humans PS4 the other day so I've been playing that. Never played it back in the day, though I heard good things about it. It's a really fun game.
Outside of PlayStation, I'm playing Tom and Jerry in Infurnal Escape for the GBA.
@trymer89 I finished it last week. I absolutely loved it.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I completed the Astro Bot. Now I just have to go back through and sweep up all the bots, puzzle pieces, and secret levels I missed. So I guess I haven't completed the Astro Bot. To completion!
@Duck_Farmer I wish I could experience Astrobot for the first time again. One of the best games I've ever played
i’m near the end of dustborn, once that’s finished i’ll start grinding out a platinum in twisted metal 3.
No gaming for me because I'm actually on vacation in London. That's why I was able to comment early this time.
After beating Quantum Break and Pokemon Legends Z-A this week it’s back to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. I’ve also been playing through Mega Man X and decided to finally give Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 a go after not playing Fortnite for a month now.
Besides those I’m debating on finally starting Metal Gear Solid 2.
Very close to finish the story of Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2. A interesting entry in the franchise, I'm curious for the conclusion of that plot (and eager to play Defiance next).
Having already beaten the campaign of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, I will do some of the post-game now. This game was a wild ride, really impressive production values.
Recently returned to Hades to mop some missions I left undone. A challenging, amazing game. And I will continue investigating the murders in Judgment.
I wish a nice and safe weekend my friends!!
Corpse Keeper, a roguelike side-scrolling combat game where you play as a necromancer that has a bunch of corpses fighting for him.
It has these multi-part combos like Remember Me and a focus on parrying and dodging. The corpses keep rotting so they will only last for so long without limited preservation fluids, so there is an element of strategy to making them last as long as possible and kill the boss on that run. Being a roguelike/lite is also has a bunch of random stuff going on, equipment to find and new moves to unlock... you know the deal.
The design of all the characters is really bad-ass and I enjoyed the game for the most part, although it has some annoying QoL issues that could easily be fixed. I'd say it's a keeper!
I've been playing Abotic Factor with a friend in co-op these last few weeks, & it is sensational, so much to do & craft, & I love the atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I've also been playing Tales Of Graces, which is also fantastic: great characters, fun combat & an intriguing story. Man I love that series!
Also still waiting for a release date for American/Euro Truck Simulator. C'mon you hippies!
Finishing off Final Fantasy XVI, I only have the final part of the second DLC and what I think is the final dungeon to go.
Really enjoying it as it's own game.
Not sure how I feel about it as a 'Final Fantasy'.
About halfway through Guardians of the Galaxy so should finish it next week
I will be playing one of the best video games ever made in the amazing hades.i will also be playing fan favorite the incredible rogue legacy 2.i will also be playing the smash hit the excellent curse of the dead gods.and I. Will also be playing the phenomenal the instant classic absolum.i will be watching my michigan wolverines 💛💙 play.i will also watch my boston celtics 💚🖤 play.i will watch legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.the wayans brothers. Martin and saved by the bell.word up son
I'm playing:
I bought a second hand copy, pretty cheap like $3, and so far i'm having a blast. But this game is almost 2 decades old and it still looks pretty good too. Sony is really lucky to have Insomniac as one of their top notch 1st party studio.
I'm almost at the end, just 3-4 more bosses. I can't count how many times i died and restart with some bosses like Guilen, Gildias, and Zirduros to the point i'm almost give up to finish this game with Hard diff. But i keep pushing on and now i can see the light at the end of the tunnel...
It's scary that this game have one of digital newspaper / magazine showed World War 3 at the Arctic, close to what's happening right now involving US, Russia, China, NATO, and Greenland...
Enjoy this weekend everyone and let's pray this Greenland situation isn't getting worst 🙏🙏
Just got the platinum on Pathologic 3 which while a little daunting at first turned out to be really good! will be moving on to No More Heroes 3 this weekend which I look forward to. Be nice to play something a little more upbeat!
I'm currently playing...
Ghost Busters Spirits Unleashed: I love playing a few rounds online with people.
Assassins Creed Shadows: This game is beautiful, and really makes me pleased with my PS5 Pro purchase.
Been trying to get into Arc Raiders, but it's not really doing much for me as of yet. I go, I scavenge, I explore. Sometimes I meet people, sometimes it goes bad. Is there more to it or is that more or less the game?
Might start MGS Delta or Stalker 2. Probably not a huge amount of gaming going on with all the live sport.
I'll also be going over to a workmates place. We have very physical jobs and he's torn some knee ligaments for the second time in 3 years, same knee. I'll watch the NFL with him and try and cheer him up a bit.
More Octopath traveller zero at 86 hours definitely going to need at least another 20 😂
I'm pretty much just playing Clair Obscur until I platinum it. Absolute masterpiece, the more I play it, the more I love it. It's basically everything I want from Final Fantasy.
Have a great weekend Folks!
Lara Croft time for me with a replay of Rise of the Tomb Raider. I think it's the best game from the survivor trilogy.
I'm doing a Backlog Buster Randomizer. Just started Axiom Verge. Happy gaming everyone!
On the Pro Dynasty Warriors Origins and Dying Light The Beast. On Steam Dispatch
Still replaying Thief and have just finished the main story. I’m now going for the collectibles I’ve missed, before doing my final run through on Master difficulty and no knockouts.
Once again I continue to work through FF Tactics, a game I missed growing up. I’ve also been mixing in, AI Limit and loving it. Beyond that I finished Lego Journey and it’s simple but it really moved me. That’s probably all for now. I still want to do more than the hour I gave Kingdom Come so far. I also need to wrap up Cosmic Invasion
@ApostateMage I agree. Rise is the cream of a fabulous crop. I'd pick that trilogy over Uncharted every time.
Was playing a little AC Shadows now back on Ghost Of Yotei, both on Pro.
Two amazing examples of the pro and PSSR done brilliantly taking out shimmer and pixel crawl during motion, to leave a quality motion picture.
I'm hooked on Absolum. Haven't finished it properly yet, but I'm getting close. Karl is my favourite so far; the throw upgrade combined with the spinning pile driver makes him a dwarf that came right out of the WWE.
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, perhaps. I’m really considering finally starting my Terranigma playthrough as well. The Seance of Blake Manor is sitting on my backlog, calling to me too. My cousin asked me to pick up this game called Fretless too and said it was basically a game made for him and I specifically when we were 14, so I’m sort of compelled to learn more.
I’ve been playing a few different games this past week instead of focusing on one or two games. I think its mostly because I’ve already finished my current ”main” game and feel a need to switch things up a bit more… Anyway, the games:
Cyberpunk 2077 I’m now in Dogtown, and the Phantom Liberty dlc is really good imo. Love going from a story mission to doing some gigs to a nice date with Panam 😍 CD project har really added some nice small bits and things to do over the years. As I said last week, one of my favorite games ever!
Epic Mickey Rebrushed - Never played this back in the day, so didnt know what to expect. Its about good enough to keep me playing it but not that much more.
Subside PSVR2 - this is pretty good. Looks great, its immersive and fun. Great combo!
Pirates VR Jolly Roger - it was cheap, ok? All this talk about the Black Flag remake made me want to be a pirate again. This game does let me be a pirate sure, but its pretty bad so I’ll probably drop it and wait for Black Flag instead 😒
NHL 25 - visited a mate a while back and after some beers we always end up playing some NHL game and I got my ass kicked which usually doesnt happen so I’m secretly going to practice a bit until next time we meet and then I’ll crush him 😈
Borderlands 4 mostly for me this weekend enjoying it a lot more than the 3rd game. Ive also got a bunch of other games that i started and haven't finished so maybe go back to one of them maybe Still Wakes the Deep or Tales from the Borderlands.
This week my Diablo IV quest to hit Paragon 200 continues. And still enjoying this season immensely. Then on the side will be some Spider-man: Miles Morales trophy clean up to get the Platinum boxed off. Happy Gaming All
Ball pit and the usual rally session.. a bit of Arc raiders this evening no doubt. Have a great weekend folks 👍
Nothing today as I’m taking the missus out but a couple of us will be starting our Gears of War: Reloaded multiplayer odyssey tomorrow.
We’ve done our solo and co-op campaign runs over the last week or so… and now starts the grind. Apart from the various match types, wins, heals etc. we’ll be needing 10,000 kills each. Even if we commit to an hour EVERY day (& there’s no way that us happening anyway tbh), we’d be at it for 3 months!
Might get a bit of free time to continue with Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver too if I’m lucky. About halfway through and while it’s clearly quite antiquated… it’s really impressive in terms of its scope for the time.
Some of the best open worlds in recent times: Cyberpunk 2077 and Kingdom Come Deliverance II.
Manchester Derby first and then, depending on the result and my mood, something violent or something chill
I have Ghost of Yotei and Trails Beyond the Horizon on the go, so I will be rotating between them. Probably not the best decision to play two big games at the same time, but here we are!
Back on The Witcher 3 after Dragon Age Inquisition left me cold. I finished the main game a few years ago and now working through Blood and Wine, wow what a game.
More Borderlands 4 for me, loads of fum, mindless shooting of many many guns!
Hopefully also get some time to try out the Activision collection on Evercade which arrived this week!
Happy gaming folks
Final Fantasy VI and Fallout 4. I've got myself in a pickle on the former, so I need to grind some levels and gil or contemplate loading an earlier save. About 10 hours into the latter, and the open world fatigue is creeping in. I may hop back over to Tormented Souls II.
Beyond that, playoff football and normal weekend chores await.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
Fruit Ninja (Vita) - Had a hankering to play this lately, so I've been playing Zen mode for kicks.
Doodle Jump (Windows Phone) - Still ticking away on this as well.
Angry Birds Space (Windows Phone) - On the home stretch now it seems. Only a handful of levels to three star now.
@Rangers420 yeah I really liked BL4. That gun play and loot cycle is very addictive
Started Bayonetta and enjoying the combat. Absolutely no idea what's going on in the story though. Hopefully will finish Gris and Cocoon this weekend too.
Enjoy the weekend everybody
Metal slug anthology.
Hello again, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:
Switch:
Animal Crossing New Horizons: I haven't started my Slumber Island yet, but I've let my two younger sisters start theirs with the two extra and they are really getting a kick out of it. Also, I've only done the first two rooms at the hotel so far. But I do want to delve into the update further once I beat my current PS4 game.
PS4:
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: all of my characters are currently in the late 70s - early 80s in terms of level thanks to a great new grinding spot. Story wise, I have all the Key Fragments and now I have to look for the oracle Histoire. I'm pretty sure that I'm approaching the end of the game pretty soon, sometime in the next few weeks probably.
I will have an epic session on Skull and Bones. It is basically Elite or Elite Dangerous with sailing boats, but I've loved Elite for 40 years, plus a good pirate yarn, so there's not a lot wrong with Skull and Bones for me. It's broken my Balatro obsession 🙂
I’m playing Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. I’m in the beginning stages in Chapter 3. It’s been a while since a video game has had me really plan and strategize—no pun intended—with party composition and classes.
The gameplay loop is very addicting, but not entirely overwhelming. It introduces new mechanics at a steady pace, and eases your understanding of transitioning into different classes. Once you grasp how the systems work, you’ll begin to appreciate the multi-layered depth the game offers.
As of now, my main character is classed as a Geomancer/Archer, paired with a Ninja Dragoon Knight that has martial arts abilities and a Black Mage Chemist Orator. We are annihilating enemies with ease. The seems to be a limitless amount of options to suit your preferred play-style.
The story is also compelling, and seems shockingly relevant (kidnapping a princess?). It’s one of these tales that isn’t gloom and doom for the sake of shock value—it has a purpose behind its brutality. With its excellent voice acting immersing you into its conflicts, to the motivations of its characters, you feel part of its strife.
The setting may be fictional, but there are many current commonalities. Life was difficult back in that time period, but hasn’t changed hundreds of years later. Friends can become enemies; motivations for your actions can be environmental; money, materialism, and social status is often more important than a person’s heart; and politics can cloud a person’s rationale.
All of this perturbation translates itself to the video game itself. It’s a reflection of life: strategizing and planning. It will often be difficult. Similar to the various maps—which are beautiful, cardboard cutout sceneries—there will be bumps in the road. You can and sometimes will permanently lose members close to you, but you will also grow stronger by sticking together.
Maybe I’m reading too much into things, and creating analogies where there aren’t none. In the last four months, my personal life has had some turbulence-from breaking my back, my mother-in-law passing, and my own mother getting diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. In the midst of all this, I’ve had to change “classes” by being who I truly am at home to masking it all whilst at my job. My wife and I have grown stronger from all of this, creating an even sturdier unbreakable bond. And compatible to my marriage, Final Fantasy Tactics is going to be an all-timer for me.
Finished act 2 of Returnal an hour or so ago technically finishing the game but I'm gonna go into act 3 because I find it so satisfying to play. Started Oblivion remastered and I've spent a couple of hours wandering around not doing much.
