Wow, we've quickly arrived at the business end of the year, huh? The Black Friday sales are in full force, and December is almost upon us. Here's what we're playing this weekend.
Jamie O'Neill
I'm still trying to play a variety of new 2025 games each week, and as the calendar shows there are six weekends left in the year, I want to spend more time with Gears of War: Reloaded.
Liam Croft
I'm going to start Dispatch this weekend and give ARC Raiders a proper go.

Sammy Barker
I've fallen behind on my live service games after a recent trip, so I need to wrap up all the content in Zenless Zone Zero's most recent update before the new one arrives. I'm also hoping to start Dispatch as well.
Stephen Tailby
I'm slowly playing through Dispatch, which I'm enjoying a lot, just playing an episode or two a night. I'm also spending some time with Morsels, the latest game from Annapurna Interactive, and I'm planning to give that a wee review sometime soon. Oh, and I'll definitely hop into Lumines Arise for the weekend event (and to try and scoop up the remaining Trophies).
That's what's keeping us busy this weekend, then, but what's on your gaming agenda? As always, let us know in the comment section below.

After DooM (2016) next is DooM Eternal to be 100%ed
On the side I will have God of War and Ocarina of Time 3D.
And recently I got a really nostalgic game for me, that many people really hate. Spider-Man Return of the Sinister Six. I loved beating that game when I was a kid
Happy gaming!
This weekend I’m gonna be grinding out the Platinum on Diablo III (need two more trophies). Loving the Necromancer character, didn’t like it to begin with but with the explosive corpses skill I’m cruising to the level 70.
Wanna try to get back into Silent Hill F but with the Premier league back and beer it’s going to be difficult 😂
Tried fixing my son’s awful stick drift the other day and I failed miserably, now the right stick permanently points up 🤣 luckily there’s Black Friday sales so may get a cheaper price 🤞
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
Just mopping up the final bits and bobs on Bully. Enjoyed my trip back to Bullworth (& PS2 gaming) more than I had any right to. One of the great ps2 era games imho… looking forward to playing a few more from that era this coming year
Inazuma eleven VR campaign and Alan wake 2 I don't buy football games but inazuma is what mario strikers should have been it's got a lot of single player content have a good weekend guys.
Arc raiders for my multiplayer fix, Yotei and Outer Worlds 2 for my single player fix. Have a great weekend everyone!
I just bought Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and I should be playing it. Instead, I find myself playing Vampire Survivors, as I have very little time at them moment and want to properly enjoy 33.

The Adventures of Rad Gravity on Evercade
Nier Autotama
Having some switch 2 time at the moment
Star Wars outlaws and Donkey Kong Bananza.
For good or bad I’ve finally left the Xbox era that has run mainly on and off since the release day one of the original Xbox. Wanted to streamline as well due to time constraints down to 2 consoles as well.
The household and family and visitors also seem very happy with the 2 consoles I’ve kept and sadly not missing the one that left.
I'm in the gorgeous Duchy of Toussaint in The Witcher 3. Just met Geralt's old dear friend, Regis, and it isn't Laurence Fishburne.
More Vagrant Story for me this weekend. This game is the very definition of a game that is more than the sum of its parts. I'm hopelessly addicted to it. Please send help. I was not expecting to become this obsessed with a creaky PS1 game.
Speaking of creaky, also hoping to play Creaks at some point, if I ever pull myself away from VS.
Have a good one, folks.
Playing:
Just done watching all Splinter Cell: Deadwatch episodes which was pretty good. The tv show gave me a reason to buy a secondhand copy of Blacklist ($6-7), the only SC game i didn't owned on PS3. So far i really enjoyed the game despite Sam new voice actor sounds a lot younger compare to Michael Ironside veteran voices. I think Liev Schreiber did a good job with Sam's voices. Currently i'm on mission 4.
I'm still at chapter 3, doing side quest and a bit grinding.
After all these years this game still looks, sounds, and plays really good. Although there's no option for Japan dub. Oh well, i'm waiting for physical copy which will release next year.
Have a great weekend everyone 🍻
Still on KCD2, don't know when I'm going to complete this game but I'm sure taking my sweet time, cause this game is going to be talked about for years. Took a carriage back to Kuttenberg and a passenger said "hey you, you're finally awake," nice nod to Skyrim. Speaking of i just tried to download the free Skyrim PS5 upgrade and to my surprise it's 15GB...😄 , so why not I started a new game for the 20th time, game still looks good. Then it's more MHWilds which I beat the main easy campaign and the true game has now actually started, the game's so good! Also went back to Clairrr Obscurrr to roam the Continent a bit, talk about art direction! Plus some MetroExodus, CP2077 and whichever else.
Im completely stuck in the pit! Ball x Pit is adictive af.
Im also playing the wonderfully compelling Unicorn Overlord.
I will take some time for Outer Worlds 2 via GP soon, but I suspect I wont get the chance this weekend!
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!
Been quite active on the PS5 lately.
Thanks to ps plus I've started Silent Hill 2, which is pretty damn great. I've also started Thank Goodness You're Here, & will continue Battlefield 6 & Fortnite with the nephews
I've been playing Wind Waker on the Wii U for a couple of days. It's a great game but man, the input lag is painful. Just had a sale splurge on Baby Steps, Silent Hill F, and the two Ender Lilies games so that should keep me going for a bit.
Also just finished up the weekly GT7 races and finally got the MacLaren F1 '94. 920 hours in and 4 cars left to go! I finished Prodeus which is a solid little shooter, loads of secrets to find too
Have a great weekend Folks!
Bought myself a PS Portal which is great now that I've sorted some connection issues out and im playing the brilliant Judgement and Crysis 3 Remastered - never thought id see the day that that game runs brilliantly on a handheld PS !
More Battlefield 6 on XBX in Redsec mode, which is fantastic !
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
@Onearmbandit. Always prioritise the beer ! 😅
Ive finished PoP the lost crown during the week. Great game. Loved every bit of it.
Downloaded Insurgency, Thank goodness, Pacific Drive and Still wakes the deep.
I will play Insurgency most of the weekend.
Have a great weekend!
I just finished the wonderful Thank Goodness You’re Here. This weekend I’m going back to do a replay of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess

Im considering to get Dying Light The Beast on the Black Friday Sale. Im currently playing Death Stranding 2, Ghost Of Yotei, Where Winds Meet and Outer Worlds 2
@KingPev
Abso bloody lutely !
It's been a good gaming week...
Demeo

Tabletop RPG, but in VR. Love moving those little miniatures around and rolling the dice like physical objects, but in virtual reality of course. The game is pretty difficult, but I'm starting to pick up some strategies along the way.
Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom

A chaotic platformer, except you're driving a little wind-up taxi instead of jumping around the place. I very much recommend this, so let's hope they bring it to console eventually.
Banisher: Ghost of New Eden - currently my main game. This game is surprisingly big, and has more enemy variety than the reviews will have you believe. There's still skills to invest into and haunting cases to look into.
It has been really difficult to play "evil" and put blame on various NPCs, but I have chosen to walk the path and will selfishly do anything for Antea. This will make me ready for a BG Dark Urges run when I eventually finish my first playthrough.
Thank Goodness You're Here is funny and made me laugh when I played about an hour of it in total.
This past month has been quite the rollercoaster of emotions. I mentioned several weeks ago I totaled my car and broke my back. I’m slowly recovering, but yesterday my mother-in-law passed away. As me and my wife’s pastor said, we are going through a season.
In terms of what I’ve been playing, I’m still captivated by Hades 2. So far, I’ve completed approximately 75 nights — or runs, rather — and have defeated the “final boss” a handful of times. I use quotations because there is a ton of game here that I don’t want to spoil the surprise(s) in the culmination of events.
In addition, one of my most anticipated games of the last few years finally released: Demonschool. Unfortunately, I’m massively disappointed with my experience. I didn’t have unrealistic expectations, or presumed it would be on par with Persona, albeit pixelated, but the writing is astonishingly bland and generic. And the characters are one dimensional, with the life-sim aspects spent between characters never really evolving into something worth caring for.
On another note, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition shadow dropped for the Switch and I immediately picked it up. There is something whimsical about playing a sprawling adventure exploring a mysterious island, uncovering lost tombs, discovering diaries and treasures, while in portable mode. And honestly, as much as I thoroughly enjoyed it back in 2014, it’s even better than I remember.
Lastly, Stalker 2, one of my favorite games of last year released on the PS5 a couple of days ago. I figured since I’m mentally in a state of depression why not go full throttle and immerse myself into a post apocalyptic Chernobyl exclusion zone where it’s a struggle to survive.
Happy soon to be Thanksgiving, everybody!
@Gaia093 I really enjoyed Frontiers. Lost it's appeal towards the end a tad but for the most part it had me hooked
@Duck_Farmer Ball x Pit was a blast to play! Just platted it the other day. Love all the various ball and passive combos. Satan ball is op IMO.
Picked up Spiderman 2 and Dark Souls 1 in the sale so those will keep me occupied for a while. Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Hello again, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:
Switch:
Animal Crossing New Horizons: I'm getting close to being able to afford the second house storage upgrade for 700,000 bells. My younger sister and I have already dumped over 20 hours in this game since January's update was announced.
PS4:
Super Neptunia RPG: all of my party members are now slightly above or almost at level 60 and the next part of the main story is to take on the headquarters of the Bombyx Mori (the bad guy organization), so I'll possibly beat this game by the end of next week. It all depends on how much more sidequests and grinding I want to do.
@Kraven, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you feel better soon (Already did this on Nintendo Life, but since you're also here I left it in again).
I was going to start Phantom Liberty in my CP2077 platinum playthrough on PS5... However Song Bird's call never came and after a little investigating it turned out the code I had received with my Ultimate Edition was for the wrong region. So I've finagled a full refund from Amazon and when the moneys re-renters my account I'm going to buy it again but probably digitally.
In the meantime I am going to play some Honkai, do some catching up and chill. I might also play some Where Winds Meet.
After beating Cronos The New Dawn, I’m working on the platinum. It’s top five games for me this year easily.
I’ll also be working toward the BallxPit platinum as I’ve already beat the base game and am working on cleaning up every stage with every character.
Lastly, Arc Raiders with my mate and Where Winds Meet will get a good look this weekend. I’m really digging the WWM aesthetic, so I hope the game keep me engaged beyond the terrible English dialogue lol.
Last but not least, I need to find something new to play, so maybe Shinobi but we will see.
Trying to finish up my Gears Reloaded hardcore playthrough but I'm struggling with beating Raam doesn't help that Doms ai is utter ***** can't believe they still haven't fixed it. I'm going to continue with Where Winds Meet I'm enjoying it but honestly dont have a clue what half the stuff I'm looting is even for and the menus are a mess.
Bouncing back and forth between AC Shadows (got on BF sale yesterday) and DK Bananza.
I really should start death stranding 2 but I’m just not in the mood to play it. I found out the PS4 version of Hogwarts Legacy runs at 60fps on the pro so I’ve started my platinum playthrough, spent 6 hours getting to the map room with the other houses first now I can start my full playthrough today. I’ve had the itch to go back to it for a bit, hopefully I’ll be in the mood for DS2 over the Christmas break
@Kraven ...STALKER 2 is just brilliant isnt it ? Absolutely love it
I finally got into Of Lies and Rain. Graphics wise, I think, it is ps3 or early ps4 level of graphics. Though sometimes it looks very good. It is quite interactive, but some of the interactions are a bit janky. The story and voice acting is quite good (the story might even be better than the story in most vr games), and it has a couple of really nice ideas. It is not necessarily the most challenging game. Overall, I quite like it, and I would recommend it to people who like adventure games.
And I played a bit of Tetris effect and Beat saber on Psvr2. Shame that meta stopped to support for the psvr2 version.
Dark souls 3. Been playing it through with my son, it's his first time playing it. Over the past year or so we've been gradually making our way through the trilogy and this morning we beat the final boss of the Ringed City DLC and then smashed the last boss of the main game proper, for good measure.
Video games get a bad rep from some corners, but in an era where so much is vying for my kids' attentions, it's good to be able to spend some quality time with them, just having a laugh playing games. This has easily been my favourite playthrough of one of my all-time favourite games.
I'm 80% and 80hours into the fantastic Ghost of Yotei which is currently my personal GOTY. After I finish it I'll go back fully to Digimon Story Time Stranger.
I have the demo for Octopath Traveler 0 installed as I suspect I'll buy that eventually, but perhaps after launch.
Have a great gaming weekend folks!
i’m playing mindsEye, the story is some goofy sh*t and the gameplay is from the ps2 era but with modern controls but im mostly digging it so that’s good, outside of that i’ll probably try to warp up some trophies in disco elysium.
I’ve finally finished Persona 5 Royal and got my plat, so I’ve moved onto Persona 5 strikers. Can’t seem to get enough of my ragtag group of thieves.
Update since last week 🙂
Alan Wake 2 - finished and platinumed! I'm very happy with myself that I decided to play this even though horror/scary games are really not my thing anymore 😅 Ended up really, really enjoying this game! Almost started a new game plus immediately after finishing (you'll get why) but decided that would take to long and my curiousity was killing me so I watched some YouTube videos instead 🙂 Very well written story imo!
Thank goodness youre here - been waiting for this to drop on plus, so very happy it finally did! Its brilliant, so fun and so worth a playthrough. Finished and platinumed in about 3 hours maybe, brilliant game 😃
The Crew Motorfest - so I left it with some trophies unpopped, one was an online trophy and it was a bit of a pain finding games and more importantly filling them with enough players as the trophy requires you to destroy three opponents in one game but with the game being on Gamepass there was suddenly new players so I finally got that trophy and then the platinum, so that was nice! Very good game imo!
Dying light: the Beast - picked it up in the sale. Loved the first but not the second so was a bit hesitant about this until I watched TheRadBrad play it on YT praising it and saying it was a lot more like the first game than the second. I'm only like 1-2 hours in but is seems very promising so far 🙂
Have a great weekend
Arc raiders..I just can't put the bloody thing down. Some BF6 and the obligatory rallying too...have a great weekend folks 👍
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Still playing daily.
Angry Birds Classic (Windows Phone) - Still clearing more levels here as well.
@Jrs1 R-Type Delta is one of my all-time favourite games. One of the best shmups ever made. And the soundtrack is just👌
Nothing for me this weekend. I'm on the annual family Christmas brewery/distillery tour today.
I'll be blackout hammered by the time the Ireland V South Africa game starts, and tomorrow I'll be in a teary hungover hoop when I wake up dying and remember SA handed us our own tón.
But Monday I'll be starting Yotei NG+.
Atsu's vengeance has been on hold for a while now, so I'll go after The Oni in Ghost of Yotei and I will probably squeeze in an episode or two of Dispatch as well.
May even get started with trains in Shapez 2, but there are quite a few non-gaming activities that need to get sorted this weekend, so that may have to wait until later.
The Last Guardian and possibly the Five Nights At Freddages Core Collection on PS4 till I can fix the damn PS5.
Not too much gaming this weekend. I'm preparing the last of the Santa Claus stuff with my yearly toy drive and December is creeping up incredibly fast. As much as I love videogames I like trying to introduce non virtual toys to children too and toy drives allow you to do that. If I do get some time I'll probably work on a mall for Satisfactory. It's basically a large depot people on PC build to store all of the different materials and components needed for manufacturing and milestones. Some people load them manually, others automate the process through a series of conveyor belts, trains or other vehicles. I'm at the point where I need to overhaul all of my storage before I get buried underneath it all.
My last build was a factory for motors, they aren't easy to build. It takes multiple processes to get to the finished piece. It turned out really well and very efficient, which is pretty much the point of the game. It also requires a whole power plant just to function and took about three hours to design on paper. No regrets.
To give an idea of scale, that's my character praising the sun.
Stalker 2 is also tempting as is Rimworld Console Edition. It's really too early to tell. There's also that Yorkshire Simulator on +Plus.
@TimeDelayedGamer Its quality man 👍
@gaston Did you ever play Half-Life Alyx? From what footage I've seen of Lies and Rain it pretty much borrows the puzzles and interactivity of that game wholesale. Which is...not a bad idea actually.
@Perturbator Demeo is just awesome!
Tomb Raider: DE on Switch 1. Great fun so far. I reinstated Tsushima as well, and have been spending hours reacquainting myself with the controls. I think it outclasses AC Shadows in all the ways that are important. Crazy gorgeous game too.
Just finished the silent hill 2 remake great game bad performance will start baldurs gate 3 next have a good weekend all
I’m switching between COD BLOPS 7 and Borderlands 4. Both games are very fun but also a grind in terms of the Platinum trophy which I’m working towards. Hope everyone has a good time w their games this weekend!
Still going thru Tales of Graces F, am on chapter 5. It's working its way up so fast into my top 5 Tales of games already. I don't think combat is particularly special, neither better or worse than most other games in the series but it's as fun as ever. Easily one of my favorite cast of characters and the story is so good
I'll be on vacation for the next week, so I may not have much gaming time this weekend. My son's desk is falling apart, so we'll hit the hardware store for some all thread, nuts, and washers. It's one of those cheap metal and glass jobs from Amazon, so it should be an easy fix. With thread locker this time.
I haven't played RE2 Remake in long enough that a casual run should be fun. If I get some gaming time, I'll mess around with that (I can't believe this game is nearly 7 years old). Trails into Reverie is good, but I'm not a fan of the perspective switching mechanic because of how it impacts pacing.
I grabbed TLOU Part 1 from Amazon for cheap. I haven't played TLOU in years, and I'm interested in comparing the PS5 re-work to the original.
Lastly, my father-in-law will be over this weekend to watch Steelers at Bears. He's a Chicago native, so some polite trash talk over some pizza will be a blast.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
In an effort to curb potential burnout from Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, I got Lost Soul Aside on sale and will try my hand at that. When I played the demo, I wasn't impressed but with the all the work the dev's been putting in to fix the game, I was very curious to see if it's been paying off.
Also my gf returned my Switch 2 after letting her borrow it to play the new Pokemon, so it may be time to finally see how amazing Donkey Kong Bananza is
I finished my first play through of Dispatch, so I’m going to take attempt three at finishing Tears of the Kingdom, for whatever reason it hasn’t pulled me in like Breath of the Wild did. Also, if the family goes to bed and I’m awake enough I’ll jump into a few raids in ARC Raiders.
Having a very relaxing time with Power Washer 2.
Picked up 5 games on the BF sale yesterday. Decided to go with Outerworlds 2 as my next adventure. Played until 3am last night. Loving this game so far. Scratching a certain itch too. It has pinches of cyberpunk 2077, borderlands, fallout vibes. Graphics are sweet, gunplay, RPG systems and atmosphere are top notch!
Will sprinkle some BF6 in there too as my ongoing online game.
@ErrantRob Cronos was fantastic. I thought it should have been nominated for some sort of award this year for atmosphere or def audio design, but its nowhere to be found.
@Gremio108 lol loved your post, cause your family must be awesome man. IDK how you guys can gather around and play any fromsoft game and have laughs while doing it. I'm a huge fromsoft fan, love their games, but if I had kids I would envision controllers being tossed out the windows and plenty of cries, no laughs to be heard hahaha
@ErrantRob Cronos is one of the best games of the year but has flown under the radar. Hope you have fun with the platinum, as I did, and that a certain Mother doesn’t give you too much trouble in hard mode 😬
Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac. I've been trying to 100% it, and I've just got the Sonic collab boss left to speedrun on it. Also playing some Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Dual Destinies and Like a Dragon Ishin.
PS5 Pro- Platinumed Ghost of Yōtei last night and Astro Bot this morning.
I might start Cronos The New Dawn tonight.
Switch 2- Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 arrived in the mail yesterday. I'll start Mario Galaxy 1, Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma, Overcooked 2 NSW2 Edition
Steam Deck OLED- Bioshock Remastered, Shenmue 2, Mad Max, Zombie Army 4 (horde mode)
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Resident Evil 3 Remake.
Uncharted 2. Couldn't pass up the Drake collection for $6. Game holds up incredibly well. I bought a used PS3 just to play this game, in 2010(?), and it was one of the very few games in 50 years of playing I would give a 10 out of 10 to.
Going after the platinum in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. And getting in some Arc Raiders.
I must say, quitting Elder Scrolls Online after 10 years had been so liberating. I feel like I can play games at my own speed now that I’m doing single player stuff that doesn’t progress without me. Really thought I’d miss it, but I’m thankful that I don’t.
I played through Portal yesterday with my son. That was fun. It’s always interesting to share an ancient artifact with him and see what he thinks. He could see the influence in other games he likes such as The Stanley Parable, Superliminal, and The Witness. Not bad observing that for an 8 year old.
Outside that, I’m contemplating jumping on a Black Friday sale for something. While, yes, I still have Yotei and Silent Hill F to complete, I sort of feel like I’m having a hard time pushing myself to play either of them and Portal felt like a breath of fresh air. A friend of mine really wants me to start playing Arc Raiders too, so maybe that’s the answer. I didn’t have time for games for a while, but I think that’ll change a bit this week. Just not sure how yet.
I turned my sleep pattern upside down to watch two ultimately disappointing days of the first Ashes test and now I need to let my frustration out by downing ARC and other Raiders for the rest of the weekend. See you topside.
I shall be continuing Fallout 4 which I’m loving. Especially exploring the world and doing all the side quests. Hopefully finish it as well.
Problem is I went spending crazy (Stupid sale) and bought a load of games
S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2
Croc: Legend of the gobbos
Total Chaos
Forever Skies
Dollmare
Cubic Odyssey
Fast & Furious Arcade
So I have a nice selection of games to play next! The question is, which one!
PS5 - Ninja Gaiden 4, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage
Switch - Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Neon Inferno
Yesterday I finished Uncharted 3 from Nathan Drake Collection as my nostalgia fix, reminds me how I love the series and hate QTE
Right after that I returned to Tales of Arise - actually giving it a second chance, dropped it first time after maybe 2h for something else. Hope this time it grabs me fully eventhough it´s not my cup of tea game, but I´d like to try something new.
For Black Friday sale I picked up It takes two for my kids and AC Origins for me - I´m not AC fan but Egypt is tempting and since it received 60fps patch few years back, I finally bought it and really looking forward to playing it any time soon. I have a huge backlog, but I don´t complain, I´m glad I have a great choice what to play next...
Have a great gaming weekend, folks!
@StitchJones Haha sometimes he gets a bit annoyed by it, but that's when we turn it off and take a break for a bit. But yeah turns out it's much more fun getting your ass kicked together than on your own
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Invincible VS
@Metonymy I’m not suggesting anything by this but I thought the game was pretty easy first time through and if anything was tricky it was the final boss. I was thrown off in the 4th phase by having to reverse engineer the concrete to hide for the AoE. So here’s hoping round 2 is just as smoothe!
@StitchJones the entire game is top notch as it pulled ideas from every game that it was a love letter to: Singularity, Dead Space, Silent Hill, Parasite Eve, etc. I hope it earns more recognition as time moves forward. Maybe a sequel will bring more into the fold.
Such is our calling.
@ErrantRob agreed 100%. I really enjoyed my time with it. It was my Halloween game. Everyones back logs are huge right now. So much has come out. Maybe that's why it got overshadowed a bit. Give people more time to get to it and I think when we get a sequel, the buzz will be bigger then expected leading up to
@ErrantRob Yeah, the very last pustule in the close quarters bit of the Mother fight gave me some trouble in hard mode for whatever reason. Such a fun fight though. Good luck!
Not much on console for me this weekend.
Will work my way through the Sponge Bob festival on Sonic Racing but otherwise it will be PC for me, Anno 117 and/or EU5 are the current focus.
Hope you all have a good one
Fantasy life I this weekend. Been waiting ages to play it so I'm really glad I've finally got to. And the ps5 port for one peice pirate warriors 4 if I can tear myself away from Fantasy life I . Xxxx
Completed "Thank Goodness You Are Here" - gameplay may be simple but how madly brilliant and funny. Loved it!.
My daughter has been obsessed with Goat Simulator 3 and we just have the Farmer Boss fight to go.
I also picked up Griftlands on sale. Pretty cool roguelike / deckbuilder that makes much better use of the story component compared with a Slay the Spire or Monster Train but still trying to get my head around the Negotiate mechanics and card deck
Chapter 10 of Final Fantasy 7: rebirth
One day I’ll finish that thing
Been playing Stray, in between Balatro and finishing Far Cry Primal. Also bought Skull and Bones for £4.99 in the sale, that's lined up for new year, Untitled Goose Game for £7.50, I think...60odd GB vs 850odd MB, crazy price for Skull and Bones, and presumably the Goose Game justifies it's relatively pricey price.
Playing Arc Raider still, will be playing that continuously. Started Kiborg and having a pretty good time with it. Need a single player game as both Kiborg and Arc are run based games.
@somnambulance He’s got great taste in games, if he likes those Maquette is worth a look and The Talos Principle is superb
@DrVenture69 He really likes walking sims, particularly ones with somewhat “scary” vibes, though he doesn’t like games that are actually scary. He likes the Exit 8 a lot too. I got lucky he’s not Roblox and Fortnite minded as many kids are these days!
I think the themes in Maquette may not click with him, but Talos Principle may be a good shout. I don’t recall if I own it (modern gamer problems, right?), but I’ve never played it. Might be fun to go in blind together!
@somnambulance I haven’t played Maquette is quite a while but I remembered it was a bit of a brainbender . Changing perspective and making small things big. Talos Principle has some underlying theological themes, but it’s mostly told through the terminals and you can pretty much ignore them and just do the spacial puzzles (the metagame and secrets are fantastic, there’s even a nod to Aperture Science )
Ball x Pit for me. I’m hooked. One. More. Run. 😂
@Perturbator No I never played half life alyx. Though, I suspect the comparison between that and Of Lies and Rain will not go very much further beyond the gravity gloves, and a slightly more advanced interactivity or physicality of the world. I think one gets a good idea about what the game is and how it plays when playing the demo. There is enough variety, that the demo does not give away the entire game.
I personally think it is a great game with a great story. Not without its flaws. For some people it may be too slow and may lack a true challenge. And one misses most of the story if one does not read the journal entries scattered around the world and a good fraction of the reports.
