@Northern_munkey you wont regret the psvr2, it’s pretty much the only way i play gt7, so good (with the small exception the BMW VGT doesn't have a cockpit model so it’s like your’e driving with your head out the sun roof 😄).
@Zuljaras I’ve still got my day 1 release 3 disk boxset of Painkiller from 21 years ago . Fantastic shooter, feels brilliant, huge hordes, great power ups and millions of secrets. One of my favourites!
Late to the party today, but after my marathon “Every OG Doom Map Pack” run, I got Prodeus. I spent about the first 2 hours thinking, man I don’t like this, no saving during the levels, twitchy aiming, but then I suddenly clicked with it. It’s a damn good little shooter with lots of secrets. I also finished Inscryption which I absolutely loved, cards and weird metagame game
Thanks @Ralizah and @max_the_german, it’s really useful to see how you’re both getting on with it. I pretty much only play docked, and i only tend to get the “blockbuster” Nintendo games (and some exclusives). I might well be tempted into getting one
@Ralizah I was almost looking to be talked into it since I’d really like to play Tears of the Kingdom again with a decent framerate. I’d heard bad things about Echoes of Wisdom’s framerate too, which the Switch 2 seems to fix. I’d still love a classic Mario and/or dungeon based Zelda, but it is starting to sound like I’d get some boom for my buck now. It would give me an excuse to play Moon again too
@Max_the_German that was about the only one i was interested in, but i really wanted a Zelda or Mario. Sounds like Echoes of Wisdom is better on the Switch 2, so that’s tempting
The Switch 2 is the first Nintendo console ive skipped since the N64, there’s just nothing on it i want. Ninty are missing out on the money for the seven games i usually get on each console (PS4/5 is at around 300 games 😂)
On a whim, i bought Inscryption on sale thinking “I’m not that interested in card games, but i’ll give it s shot”. I’m now as obsessed with it as i was Lorelei and the Laser Eyes and The Blue Prince (41 trophies too!) I’d much rather spend £70 on ten games like these than on one “committee developed” piece of “AAA” dross.
I hope Daniel Mullin’s other games come to playstation at some point or i might have to support him via those Half Life 3 withholding monsters “steam”
@Jammer Thanks buddy, I'm missed that, the first one was intense! Off to my wishlist! Edit: D'oh not up yet. Darkwood's on sale for £2.49 if anyone's interested, that's a steal!
Im going more for indie games these days Bendy and the Ink Machine and Darkwood were interesting. Loved Crow Country and i’m just playing and loving Inscryption
Finally finished Hollow Knight again, and platinumed Hogwarts Legacy. I’m still “between games” and figuring out what to get next, so I’m playing the fantastic Steamworld Dig and OG Doom (The Master Levels) at the moment, which aren’t actually great, but I’ve only got a couple of levels left
@SoapMonki, a demo for every game would be great, I guess I can understand why some don't.
Totally agree with them being permanent, and I'd add NOT BEHIND A PSN PAYWALL. A demo isn't an added perk for PSN subscribers, it's a tool to sell games. Everyone who doesn't have a PSN subscription is still supporting Sony by buying their consoles and software.
I still haven't brought Doom Dark Ages because I want to try before I buy (or I'll get it in a couple of years for £5)
I'm still finishing off Hollow Knight, and some Hogwarts Legacy. I've also become re-addicted to the original Doom, I'm playing the Final Doom levels at the moment.
I'm still not sure about Ghost of Yokei (almost wrote Yorkie 😂), I'm still a bit salty about the upgrade path for Ghost of Tsushima
Id only get 4 or 5 hours out of my original dual sense, but the one that came with the pro will do 10 hours. No stick drift on either thankfully. I wished they put deadzone config into the OS though, rather than hoping games implement it. I always liked that xbox batteries were removable (swap and charge approach), so this is good
I'm still playing Hollow Knight in the evenings and loving it as much as the first time I played it. So much depth. It's really set me up for Silksong.
I've finished NMS and I'm still struggling to find a weekend game I really want to play so I've gone for a replay of Hogwarts Legacy which looks so good on Pro (performance mode). I'm taking the collectathon approach at the moment and really enjoying it. I think the next one will probably be Clair Obscur since you bunch seem to be enjoying it so much!
Happy Weekend and Congrats on 600 WAYPTW's Folks!
Push Square's not far off 500K followers, so that should be another celebration
@Robamuffin I hope so, it's just another "try before you buy" option and I really don't like these sitting behind PSN (which obviously I don't have), just like Doom Dark Ages.
I'd have given it a shot today if it had been an open demo. It sounds promising you liked it though. Looks like fun.
No Mans Sky is still scratching my itch (I just found a system called Robopoop IV with a cartographer guild member call Cartographer Dude (apparently you can't rename NPCs))
I also came across a weird little British metroidvania called Horace which is worth a look, it gets 9.5 / 10 on PSN, but I don't think PushSquare have covered it (might be one for Mr Tailby if you're interested).
I'm still finishing off Hollow Knight in the evenings so hopefully I'll be on to Silksong soon.
@TimeDelayedGamer, it's pretty similar in crafting to Subnautica (the usual farm resources, get blueprints to build technology). Some blueprints can be gated behind missions (I was trying to find a blue print for a antimatter containment vessel before it randomly appeared after completing a mission). Base building isn't quite as tight as Subnautica, the editor can be a bit of a chore, but it's not like you doing it all the time. There's a really nice dripfeed of discovery though. You're constantly either crafting items to make your life easier, or pursuing the quests. The flying and combat feels great too, you can offer to buy any ship that lands at a station.
You can notice the procedural nature of it, but it's no distracting, it's like "Oh here's the mineral on this world that I get sodium from" but it looks slightly different. The worlds and animals can look completely different.
Plus I think it's on PSN for about £16 at the moment. I've put 141 hours in to it, so yep, I'd recommend it. Edit: And it's PSVR2 enabled!
It can feel a challenge to remember how to do everything if you come back to it after a year or two like I did, which is why I restarted (it's infinitely better than Elite Dangerous in my opinion too, it has a story )
I was struggling to find something I wanted to play other than Hollow Knight, which I absolutely love again now, it just keeps opening up. Totally ready for Silksong when I've finished it.
I wanted to play something like Subnautica, so I took another crack at No Mans Sky and loving it. They've put so much effort into it.
I’d have to second Death Stranding 2, being on top of a mountain and seeing the massive moon, or a sunset. Wow! I think is has the best mist/fog/snow I’ve seen in a game too. Lords of the Fallen shows what a good implementation of UE5 can do. Astrobot has got some of the most polished graphics, shows it’s not just Nintendo that can produce that kind of quality. Lumo is a fantastic interpretation of 8 bit isometric adventures too. GT7’s weather system and raytracing too. But hey, for every powerhouse like DS2, there are a bunch of indies that use graphics to make you feel something. It’s not just about the flash
I got mine about a year after launch, i was pretty much PC only, but it made a lot of sense when i moved into my girlfriends. So many memories of Suikoden, Legacy of Kain and FF7!
I bounced of Blasphemous 2 because of the difficulty spikes (loved Blasphemous 1), I was really hoping this wouldn't be the same. I finished Hollow Knight in the past (just replaying it again), but I was really hoping Silksong would not be difficult to the point of "not fun". Fingers crossed it isn't, I do plan on getting it as soon as I've finished HK again
Finally got around to finishing Thank Goodness Your Here, it's like a Northern English South Park "Peans, not quite Peas, not quite Beans" Also got the Vampire Survivors Platinum, which was nice.
I'm also playing Hollow Knight (I finished it on PC, but not on PS4) so I get in the right mood for Silksong. It took me a while to get back into it, but as soon as you get dash, it feels so much better.
I even played a bit of Dirt Rally with an ancient MS Force Feedback steering wheel, still a damn good game.
Does anyone know if it’s any better on Pro? I loved the PS3 games but I was a bit cooler on the 2017 one (it’s still fine). Hopefully it gets some patches, but I think I’ll wait for a sale
Gooseberrrmps! I scanned the first paragraph and thought they’d made it like Outlast and RE for a second! Hey kids, are you ready for the torture scene?!
Loved Grow Up and Grow Home, really simple, fun, physics based movement (grabbing hold of the environment to climb) but with lots to discovered. 100% both of them
This is giving me strong PT vibes, I've just replayed RE8 and the DLC (man, I wished that had a pro upgrade, but I did enjoy it). Cannot wait for this, it's an embarrassment of horror riches at the moment
As I've said many times, loved the first one. The NPCs were a bit weak, but i loved the level design, the twin world mechanic (with the spooky light) and the gameplay. Really looking forward to this one, i hope they support it as well going forward.
@Jammer totally agree, i was so hyped after the PT demo, i really hope F is good, ill wait for the pushsquare review. And the sound track for SH2 is superb (I was actually a bit cooler on the remake’s sound track), but wow, Angel’s Thanatos, Heaven’s Night & Theme of Laura! I’ve got the OST on my Spotify playlist. I’ve almost finished RE8 so I’ll be checking the DLC out tomorrow!
Im on the fence at the moment, but a demo would have made my mind up and i might have bought it at full price. I dont have PSN so i guess ill wait for a sale. As everybody's already said, paywalling demos = dumb
I'm having a palette cleanser from Death Stranding 2 now I've completed it. I'm replaying Resident Evil Village, I did try to start it on Village of Shadows, mode by after 10 minutes was like "Nope!". I've had the DLC for over a year and haven't played it. Plus after this I'm going for a replay of Silent Hill 2 Remake just in time for Silent Hill F to come out it just over a month! Spooky season!

Re: Vampire Crawlers Is the Deck-Building Vampire Survivors Spin-Off We Never Knew We Wanted
I thought I wasn’t in to deck building games, then I played Inscryption and loved it, so I’m definitely up for this.
How many hundreds of trophies does it have? I’m up to about 170 out of 244 in Vampire Suvivors

Re: Talking Point: Will PlayStation's Mobile Push Be a Success or a Flop?
It’s a smart move because it’s a spread bet, cover all the markets, but I really could not care less (like live service or free to play games).

I want the Top Gear test track and the Suzuki Liana so i can beat Jay Kay’s time
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 606
I'm still playing the fantastic Inscryption in the evenings, sacrilege but I like the card element more than Balatro!
I've almost finished my marathon replay of all OG Doom, just playing through Legacy of Rust.
As a chillout alternative, I've also gone back to Immortals Fenyx Rising which is sooo good, almost Zelda like.
I've parked Powerwash Simulator 2 until they patch in gyro controls
Have a great weekend Folks!
Re: PS2 Set to Remain King of Consoles as Nintendo Switch Sales Start to Stall
Thanks @Ralizah and @max_the_german, it’s really useful to see how you’re both getting on with it. I pretty much only play docked, and i only tend to get the “blockbuster” Nintendo games (and some exclusives). I might well be tempted into getting one
