We wouldn't blame you for not knowing that PSVR2 just celebrated its third birthday, because Sony itself seems to have completely forgotten that the platform exists.

For quite some time now, it feels like the virtual reality headset's been left to collect dust. It is still getting new games, but the releases are few and far between at this point.

Indeed, 2026's current PSVR2 schedule is... dry, to say the least.

On Sony's side of things, there's no social media presence, no PlayStation Blog posts, and it wasn't featured at all in the latest State of Play broadcast — which ran for over an hour.

It's abundantly clear that PlayStation Studios have long abandoned PSVR2, and so it falls to third-party teams to keep the platform's library stocked. But of course, the problem there is that these titles get close to no coverage through official channels.

And so we have to ask: is PSVR2 basically dead? It's a topic that our intrepid video producer Aaron attempts to tackle in his latest video, which you can watch at the top of this article.

Aaron's always been a big fan, and often a staunch defender of Sony's headset and VR in general — but even he's been left disillusioned by the blatant lack of commitment.
