@ShogunRok They managed to get Football Manager working even if it’s not exactly intuitive. And Crusader Kings 3 is honestly ok control wise considering how it’s pretty much exclusively mouse-based on PC.
It’s surely going to be better than Back 4 Blood. That being said, it’s bound to be yet another live service! They just have to include it with PS Plus, I don’t see any other way to make this sort of game blow up.
These AI peddlers are genuinely going to destroy the world and for what? Is it really worth the environmental impact, the RAM shortages and the erosion of public trust in any form of media? This bubble will make a handful of people exceptionally rich and leave the rest of us worse off in a million ways but hey, we can chat to a bot instead of our own families!
@Shaw_Brothers I never got this whole thing about Chinese companies specifically spying on me. What the hell does Beijing care what I get up to? I live in one of the most surveilled countries on the planet, I’m far more concerned about the government’s war on privacy than what the Chinese get up to. Besides, anyone that wants our data already has it, you’d have to be the Unabomber to not have given it out at some point by now.
I probably would have bought this a long time ago if there was an actual single player mode. Basically everyone I trust when it comes to racers has lamented the death of GT’s real career mode.
This is a decent idea but I don’t think SDS had to be involved. The main game still feels last-gen, I’d rather see the resources going towards a proper bump for the next title.
It has to be rough if your art style is specifically soft pastel cartoons given the Ghibli trend completely poisoned the well and most AI art resembles it in some way. I worry that with these models getting more advanced, the next thing to generate will be videos ‘showing the artistic process’ to make it even harder for artists to prove their work is real.
This sorta just seems what I expected…? It’s more than what they’ve done for RDR2 at least. £50 is mad but thankfully I took advantage of the PS Plus deal for another year even if I am now exceptionally skint.
@SeaDaVie I don’t think I’ve seen a single person actually say they would want the games to be Western at all. It’s a blatantly made-up statement in order for this guy to shift the conversation away from ongoing controversies.
They had the perfect opportunity to move forwards with the series given Ichiban and also the Judgment series. Instead they’re making remakes and bringing back literally every single character who’s died. And hiring sex offenders.
Yep, looks like my kind of game. Love Bond and with that bald melt Bezos in charge of the movies, this might be the only decent thing to come in the franchise.
They’ll push it so hard that people will get tired of protesting. It’s a deliberate tactic. They have practically unlimited resources to push this on the public and creativity will die. We should be looking at this and realising that what humans can do in terms of creativity and artistic expression is remarkable. But instead all people think about is saving money.
I saw this was coming but had absolutely no idea what it was. FM26 is sort of atrocious in a lot of ways even on PC so uh, this can’t be any worse? Although it’s deeply hilarious that Gareth Bale is inexplicably St Mirren’s assistant manager in my file. That’s what I live for in those games. They should bring back FIFA Manager/Total Club Manager, the Football Fusion thing was really cool where you could play your matches in FIFA 2004 while handling running the club in the TCM 04 game. Also Martin O’Neill is on the cover of TCM 04 off the back of our UEFA Cup final against Mourinho’s Porto. What a man, still giving us European results.
@Papasears1982 It was really Cold Steel that made it blow up in the west. To the point that I’m pretty sure a lot of people weren’t aware that there were games before that subseries. Much better games at that 😂
Sky 3rd is probably the best in the series. Up there with Zero/Azure anyway. Would be a shame if it didn’t get the same love just because it doesn’t fit into the same structure.
I sort of get the logic but it’s ridiculous that the cool stuff is all locked behind paid DLC. Would be a shame if there were no more expansions actually, they were brilliant in Origins. Never did finish the Paris one in Valhalla though, really need to play it.
Between this and PTA’s thing for One Battle After Another, Fortnite is quickly becoming the place to be for semi-reformed cokehead movie directors with fetishes. Do Fortnite characters have toes?
I thought Ragnarok was pretty great personally, even if that section with Atreus was a big slog. A bit rushed and not everything felt wrapped up though. It’s an odd situation though considering in the PS2 and PS3 years, the general rule was that 1 was good, 2 was the best entry and 3 was divisive. Same as movie trilogies. I’d say that applied to God of War, Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. Probably other series too.
I’ve still never played Persona 5 Royal. Absolutely loved the original release, but haven’t had the urge to play it again with more content. Odd that, considering I’ve played 3 and 4 multiple times.
@Ralizah Narratively, X being linear makes total sense with the pilgrimage aspect. But the lack of exploration hurts it in postgame even with the airship. At the same time, I’ll absolutely take the linear nature of X over the open world route in XV and XVI… although I maintain that the open world parts of XV are a million times better than the linear second half.
X ages better every year. Probably my favourite turn based system in the series, so good that LotR The Third Age just blatantly stole it. The plot, characters and soundtrack are so, so good. I think the 2010s cynicism and CinemaSins-esque nitpicking ruined it in some people’s eyes as there are some silly moments but if you engage with it in completely good faith and take it all in then I’m not sure Final Fantasy has been as good since. I like XII a lot but the story is pretty muddled and I don’t think any of the emotional beats hit as hard as X. Although Wakka is a racist with a flat top who chucks a volleyball at people and has the voice of Bender.
@get2sammyb So it’s sort of Star Wars but not actually proper Star Wars and it doesn’t have the name Star Wars in the title so anybody wouldn’t know it was Star Wars from a first glance. And they expect this to do well?
Mr Big probably isn’t even the most corrupt character in the game. It’s not like he’s ducked a suspension in order to play at the World Cup through connections with an orange buffoon and a bald fraud.
In the nicest way possible, is it not a bit pathetic to rip off the most famous media franchise in the world? Like it’s pretty blatantly inspired by Star Wars without actually having the license attached… so it’s just a rip off?
I own 0 and 2 digitally and literally just sold Kiwami’s physical copy. Kiwami 2 is the only one out of those three that actually could be improved with a PS5 version since it’s still 30FPS. And green tinted. 6 could really use a PS5 version too as it’s really choppy.
I know there was Covid but 5 years on, this is not a good generation. Compared to the PS2 and PS4, the first party offerings that are exclusive to the PS5 have been MIA or a disappointment. The sad part is that the console itself is incredibly solid and it’s the best place to play PS4 games and third party games. I would rather play a lot of games on PS5 than my PC but Sony have a lot of studios and I’m not sure they’ve all been earning their keep. Poor Insomniac are carrying things.
I’ve managed to do it on my PC for a few years now. If fans can do it, Sony can do it. The level of upscaling is pretty impressive too, Skate 3 is way less smeary.
@ECharles The only economic concept here is ‘pay less workers, make more profit’. The only tangible benefit of any of this is that the rich will get even richer.
@Clytorial_Impact Worked for an AI firm. It’s a fart-huffing hype-powered plagiarism machine sold to the most gullible people on the planet. A mention of it being used to cut down repetitive tasks makes me think you’re the one who lacks real world experience as that level of automation isn’t exactly new and it’s the consumer interfacing with LLMs that’s the new part. And you’re conflating generative AI, which this article is discussing, with other forms of automation.
@Drago201 The bubble bursting is going to make the Dotcom bubble look laughable. It’s going to sink most of the world but leave a few specific people absurdly wealthy.
Bad bad news. The saddest thing is that when you look at their AC Discovery Tours, it’s about as far away from generative AI as you get with the specific details and curated world.
I’m dropping to Extra. Premium is dogsh*t. Licensing issues are why most of the good games won’t actually come to it, no racing games or sports games either. Imagine if we actually got SSX, Tony Hawk Underground, Gran Turismo 4 etc. Would be a much better service.
I’m still on 3 having platinumed 2 and TPS this year. This seems like a sequel to the Mercenary Day map from 2, which is ridiculously good value in terms of the massive train cache you unlock full of loot after each run. I’ll get to this when it’s cheap and all DLC is included!
I think what some people have failed to realise is that the PS6 is going to be exorbitantly expensive if trends stay as they are, and that there comes a point where the potential gains made from new, expensive hardware just are not worth the price. Plus Steam games are so, so much cheaper than PS5 games and can also be acquired from a million other sources, Humble Bundles and so forth. Emulators too. I personally have no use for this but I can see it being a great first step towards Valve carving out more of a space in hardware, they just need to get it into retailers rather than direct order in my opinion. For enthusiasts, it’s ok ordering from Valve themselves but I genuinely think if you had these in the Argos catalogue or in a John Lewis window, they look nifty enough and are easy enough to explain in a small display to catch general consumers’ eyes.

Good news but I cannot imagine playing these on a controller!
