Sniper Elite is fantastic for me. The Show 26 I really wish came a couple of months ago but hey, I’ll take it.

So I didn’t really miss anything! Stage Tour I’m super interested in but i’ve been on their mailing list for months now anyway.

It’s hard because I really admire the efforts of Dovetail and I think this is a fantastic series. But the annual releases are so, so hard to justify with the minuscule improvements. I guess it’s just a way to keep development going and a solid income given the niche genre.

@solocapers No, SKG were involved with Asmongold and have been openly supported by PewDiePie and Elon Musk. It’s the PETA for gamers, it is not going to accomplish anything of note.

The gadget things are a bit silly but it could be fun. Not enough racing games out there which aren’t just sims or arcade sims.

Maybe try pushing the PS5 hardware. They treat it like a PC when the reason we used to have impressive exclusives back in the day was because devs found ingenious solutions to limitations. These days all you get is an attempt at 60FPS on Pro and 30 on base. For a build inferior to PC.

Love the Caterham, especially in NFS Shift 2 with the first person realistic cam.

I’m not convinced this sort of tone is likely to change any minds. There’s a malaise around Sony exclusives and insisting that people are wrong to feel a certain way about a game is not the way to dispel that.

It’s just all sauceless. I adore Crazy Taxi but this one just looks like yet another Unreal Engine downgrade.

I know there’s a collection coming but PS Plus Premium is sh*t enough without them removing games.

@Ralizah It’s interesting seeing everyone blaming different groups for this ‘hate’ - the left, the right, Russia(???) when the reality is that anyone engaging with this site is the extreme minority and superhero games are played by the majority therefore they’re exposed to the scrutiny of the average person. Like for someone to make that comparison with a Ben 10 game they first had to have actually played a Ben 10 game. Superhero games are fundamentally similar to sports games, they’re extremely iterative and are compared directly to their predecessors through clips because they reach a massive audience.

I don’t really see the point. The last couple games have been so cutscene heavy that they’re practically movies anyway, it’s just fodder for YouTubers to make ‘lore’ videos about.

@Ralizah Yeah, the examples provided aren’t even close to being toxic, especially not for social media. I dunno what they expect, Spider-Man 2 is universally clowned on therefore their next game will have more scrutiny because of that. It’s a collection of tropes that by now are rather tired. Need to find that one tweet about if Insomniac made a Hulk game where he can detect ‘crime particles’ using his ‘Gamma vision’ 😂

@GirlVersusGame In the first Modern Warfare reboot they took war crimes committed by the Americans and said the Russians did it. They’re not the brightest writers on the planet.

Pet hate is the whole ‘North Korea invasion’ nonsense, it’s just patently ridiculous. There is absolutely zero way that North Korea will attempt a full scale invasion because their entire existence relies on the current stalemate and certain powers’ tolerance of them behaving themselves. This feels more like a way to grab the South Korean multiplayer crowd.

The fakest game of all time. This is never going to release, it’s just a way to defraud the German government.

Yeah this one might actually finally make a profit on modern consoles, if only because they don’t really make those sort of game anymore. Return of the King was definitely the better game.

@super84trooper They use the black suit as a metaphor for addiction and Peter’s compulsions to save everyone because he couldn’t save Aunt May. They then give Peter a suit that has all the powers of the black suit but none of the side-effects. Like giving a crack addict The Good Crack That Makes You Feel Good.

The Persona 2 duology is absolutely fantastic. I do not trust this Atlus with them. Expect the exact same Persona 5 UI again and 15 million ways to cheese battles with super special bonus attacks.

@ButteredCrumpet The biggest draws of PCs for gaming in my opinion are mods, translation patches and emulation. Now I’ve dabbled with those on consoles over the years like Wii, Switch, 3DS and Vita, but you’re not buying a modern console for that. If I want to play any game that’s released in the last 50 years, there will almost always be a way to play it on PC. Especially with Xbox 360 decompilation coming along nicely. If I want to play Ocarina of Time at 120FPS with every item randomised then I can. If I want to play Skyrim with 8K bread textures then I can. If I want to play Fire Emblem Thracia 776 in English then I can even do that on my phone. It’s only consoles that have such a tightly locked ecosystem yet they’re the ones that are charging people through the nose already never mind once they control pricing fully after disc manufacturing stops.

Sony’s gamble paid off, the usual suspects here are already doing the whole ‘well people are loud therefore I’m going to be a contrarian’ stance.

@Neuromancer BioWare have always been ‘woke’, Mass Effect was incredibly progressive for the late 00s and Juhani was a lesbian way back in KOTOR. Trying to tie ‘activists’ to formerly great game studios waning in recent years is utterly brain dead, the answer is capitalism and it will always be capitalism. Cuts and publisher overreach are the prime reasons why studios like BioWare don’t make good games anymore, and they’re brought about because their overlords make a lot more money out of MTX filled slop factories than single player campaigns. Suits don’t care about the end product being sh*t if it makes them money, and the reverse is also true.

@get2sammyb Genuinely thought it was closer to 22 billion in debt, 18 billion seems lower than I expected given their existing debts plus the 20 bil leveraged buyout. Granted this all seems incredibly complicated 😂

He’s a decent actor. But I still look at this project and just see absolutely zero reason for it to exist. The games are there. You can play the games. It’s the same as The Last of Us, you take an already cinematic game and remove the gameplay so that you’re left with a story that is good for video game standard but is ten a penny in Hollywood.

Not really my bag. But that’ll happen. I had my fingers crossed for MLB to hit Extra during the all star weekend but no dice.

@Almost_Ghostly I am on the sale cycle. And £80 up front is not the same as a monthly payment. A block of cheese is over £4. Food is ridiculously expensive. I haven’t been abroad since 2014.

Still find it bizarre that his dad is Dominic Holland. Like of all the people in the world to have their son be one of the biggest stars, he is not who I would have picked.
