Developer Tribute Games has really made a name for itself as a purveyor of fun, retro-flavoured beat-'em-up action games, and its next title won't change that image.
Scott Pilgrim EX is next on the agenda, and it's coming very soon. The new trailer below reveals the release date; it's hitting up PS5 on 3rd March, 2026.
Moreover, the video spotlights a duo of new playable characters, namely Matthew Patel and Robot-01.
They join the already-known roster, which includes Scott himself, Ramona Flowers, Roxie Richter, and Lucas Lee. There's still one last character yet to be revealed.

The game's story sees Scott and Ramona teaming up with former enemies as they traverse a Toronto torn apart by some time-and-space shenanigans.
Creator Bryan Lee O'Malley is involved, as is Paul Robertson (the pixel artist responsible for the look of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game) and Anamanaguchi, the band behind that game's soundtrack.

Super excited, the first Scott Pilgrim game holds a special place in my heart.
Scott Pilgrim as a series (be it the books, movie, first game or Netflix anime) holds a very special place in my heart so EX has been one of my most anticipated releases ever since its announcement at SGF last year.
can't say I was expecting it to come out a month from now though XD

Hoping this sequel doesn't rely on using weapons and griding for stats as much as the first game. Even after you grinded out max stats, the enemies were still pretty tanky in the later Stages.
@Deadlyblack My kid and I played it for a very long time. We will definitely be there day 1 for this game.
Was he not one of Ramona's 7 evil ex boyfriends? Matthew, that is, not the robot.
Edit: actually, so are half the characters...
Characters and the story set up dont really strike me as being as good as the first (having 4 people play as the band and actually jamming was a cool idea), but if the gameplay is solid, I'll give it a look!
@J2theEzzo The robot is supposed to represent the Twin boyfriends and was from the first game, as I'd imagine programming the Beat 'Em Up equivalent of Ice Climbers from Smash Bros would be a programing nightmare.
