Assassin's Creed Unity PS4

Now that Ubisoft has enhanced a handful of Far Cry games on PS5, making them run at 60 frames-per-second, it is now reportedly turning its attention back to the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Insider Gaming leaker Tom Henderson shared on the outlet's weekly podcast that he believes the publisher will give old Assassin's Creed titles similar treatment. It was said on yesterday's episode of the podcast that Assassin's Creed Unity could be first.

Despite the comments from the Insider Gaming lead, Ubisoft has actually already updated a few older Assassin's Creed games with 60FPS support on PS5. Assassin's Creed Origins received a patch in 2022, and Assassin's Creed Syndicate got the same in 2024.

If the publisher provides 60FPS patches to even older Assassin's Creed games, though, then The Ezio Collection, III Remastered, Rogue Remastered, and the aforementioned Unity could be part of Ubisoft's plans. Of course, there are strong rumours that Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is being handled separately with a full remake.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft provided Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Far Cry Primal with 60FPS support on PS5.

Do these kinds of updates to older titles make you return to them for another playthrough? Tell us in the comments below.
