@RobN Yeah, I’ve played Horizon 4 before and loved it but I’ve been making my way through the Motorsport games. I know people love 3 and 4 but 2 has been the high point so far for me.

It looks great but I haven’t even played 5 yet. Started Forza Motorsport 4 though for the first time!

@Deadlyblack They made an animated show for kids with Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur a couple years back, seems to have been pretty well received.

First Blade being in chains and now Moon Girl’s in jail. Not the greatest look 😂

I’ll absolutely play Outlaws.

My issue is that by the time the games are cheap enough for me to buy, the next one’s on the horizon and they’re too big a time investment.

It has a randomly decent British and Irish cast if nothing else. But I loathe these games so no chance of playing it 😂

I’m not going near this unless it’s free on PS Plus down the line because I was burned by Returnal, which I already got cheaper from a user on here who also did not like Returnal 😂

@Aquariusjive Yeah, I kept my first DualSense around after it died solely for salvage to keep my second one alive longer. I’m now on my third after genuinely having that second one on life support. I’d say I’m probably just unlucky with controllers, had the same issue with two different DS4s over the last generation and my first pair of Joy-Cons.

@Aquariusjive I find the DualSense to be a bit more irritating than either the Joy-Cons or the old DS4 to open up. To get into the sticks you really need to take it all apart, it should be the first thing you can access given it’s often the first to break.

@Questionable_Duck The point is that you can only work with what’s in front of you. This article is about SNK and Saudi owned assets, hence the comments about supporting the Saudi regime. In articles about Chinese owned assets we see the same and have done for years on this site. Excessive whataboutism isn’t helpful, it’s diluting the conversation about Saudi Arabia and comes across more as running interference for a murderous regime rather than drawing attention to China.

Time to get my hype up for KH4 and then it inevitably will be utter crushing disappointment just like KH3.

Lasted a few hours with the first one. Hugely derivative, which is fine in itself if not particularly interesting, but it didn’t grab me at all.

I think the biggest takeaway from all this is that Amy Hennig has become a martyr and it’s not entirely justified. Her output since then sort of speaks for itself. I’m not a Druckmann fan but his and Straley’s Uncharted 4 is leagues ahead of whatever this was shaping up to be.

Why? It plays great and looks great. Possibly the most pointless remake in history. Can’t they just make a new Rayman instead?

I’d say yeah, it’s even better than 2. Story wise it’s a bit hacky with the long-lost brother angle and such, but I absolutely adore the gameplay and how weighty Nathan feels. And 2 is a brilliant game but also suffers in terms of the villain never really doing much for me. 4 at least has the incredibly hateable Rafe.

20 years is horrifying and then I realise that my parents were still married then so it really must have been a long time. A different life 😂

Part of it is that people are done with Gen X nostalgia. Media has been stuffed with nostalgia bait for the 80s and 90s kids and this is sort of a step too far for some people, especially those of my age. I dunno, this game doesn’t exactly offend me but I am a bit over the pandering to that age group.

The thing is, none of those other applications are new. Machine learning has been a part of game development for years, as has sophisticated enemy AI. So anything that requires an entire presentation about is an application of new technologies. Which means generative AI. Things are already bad worldwide. If we abandon even human creativity then what’s the point of any of it? Only we understand the human experience and that’s what resonates with others. If you feel genuine emotion from something generated by a machine, which has never felt the range of emotions that humans have, then all I can do is pity you.

@Stocksy Lofty was Eastenders, and probably is below average height these days. It’s like footballers, guys who were known to be massive back in the 90s would look like a smout in a modern lineup.

Session’s finally pretty decent actually. But the devs made a mess of it over the years as they break it and unbreak it over and over, and so aren’t a team I’d really seek out their new work.

@RoomWithaMoose I’ve been playing a bunch of Wii games on PC now that they support RetroAchievements and using my Joy-Cons has been a bit of a mixed bag. You forget how actually reliable the Wii sensor bar was compared to the gyro sensors, I ended up having to map a button to re-centre the pointer to make it playable.

Inexplicable Biffy Clyro inclusion is sort of funny. Perhaps they’re big in Japan? They do seem to like the Scots, my uncle said it was brilliant touring over there supporting Melt-Banana.

I don’t think this is new at all. Tastes were shaped by the magazines before the internet and there are a wider variety of takes than there used to be because you can see everyone’s thoughts now, not just those who made it to print. I find the larger issue to be misinformation spread by ‘influencers’ rather than opinions about games.

I absolutely love these two. But 120FPS and 4K is a tad pointless for these games. I played Zero on the Vita and Ao with the old Geofront translation and it was perfectly fine.

Yet another reason why genAI in the hands of the public is just an atrocious idea. They’ll use it to further their agenda across all aspects of life and trying to start yet another culture war over a bloody game of all things is pathetic. All of this is insane, the game is written the way it is written. You can’t change that. Have people just made up a version of the story in their head that they think is better?

Does the budget include the pre-release coverage?

The ones who are making this political are the devs. They’re specifically stating their reasons for doing this are based on them being right-wing. I don’t know what’s hard to grasp about that.

13 games in the one series is insane when you think about it. Actually do have fond memories of Blops 3 and MW2019 too.

It’s utterly insane. I love PES and yeah, it did have the penguin suits and stuff but they were extras within the game and weren’t yet another attempt to make money from MTX. eFootball has been a disaster for years but it’s apparently profitable so I don’t see any way back for PES. FC 26 being so genuinely sh*t that barely anyone even cares about TOTS or any incoming World Cup mode is a prime opportunity for competition too. The sad thing is that the golden age of PES modding is over, paid mods are taking over and it’s just a bit mad to be charging £15 for a mod of a 6 year old game. I know it’s a lot of work but come on, stick it behind an ad-funded link or something.

@SuperSilverback Still think that Cap game is a cool concept but it’ll never release. The Cap movie game is genuinely quite good.

@SuperSilverback That’s basically all he’s been in. Even in the comics he’s been pretty much nowhere for a while now. It’s a shame, he’s an icon and he’s not been getting well-written material for ages.

Poor T’Challa. After Chadwick died he’s been pretty much exiled to the shadow realm. I don’t mind Shuri though.
