Update []: The playable demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is available to download now on PS5, and there's a lot of stuff if you give it a shot. It's around 7GB in size.
As originally reported, the demo contains both Okinawa and Kamurocho as explorable locations, with Kiryu being playable in the former, and Mine in the latter.
You'll also be able to sample significant chunks of combat, putting both characters and their unique fighting styles to the test.
And once you're done battering clueless thugs, you can try out a bunch of different side activities, including sub-stories and minigames.

Again, it's a meaty demo — although it's worth reiterating that progress doesn't carry over to the full game since the demo takes place at set times in the story.
Original Story: As promised, a playable demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will drop on PS5 in the very near future.
Its official release timing is 9pm PT on the 21st January — so it'll technically be available on the 22nd January in most regions, at 2am ET / 5am GMT / 6am CET.
It sounds like this'll be a meaty demo, by the way. It'll let you run around as Kiryu in Okinawa, trying out his overhauled Dragon of Dojima fighting style and his all-new weapon-based Ryukyu style.
As Kiryu, you'll be able to check out some sub-stories, give outfit customisation a go, and play a handful of minigames, like karaoke.
But that's not all. You'll also be able to dip into the newly crafted Dark Ties campaign, where you take on the role of Mine. Here, you can get a taste of Mine's story, give his edgy fighting style a shot, and enjoy a select few side activities.
However, since it sounds like the demo's going to plop you into preset scenarios, you won't be able to carry any progress over into the full game.
Still, if you're eager to see what RGG Studio's done with the combat systems and how Yakuza 3 looks in the Dragon Engine, this demo should keep you busy for a few hours at least.
