A new entry in The Witcher series was announced today, but you won't find it on the PS Store to download — in fact, you won't find it on any games console. Reigns: The Witcher is a new "swipe 'em-up" title for PC and smartphones.

It's releasing on 25th February 2026, and here's the pitch:

As Geralt of Rivia, legendary monster slayer, you will navigate the moral maze and fight for survival through the drunken ballads of the bard. Will you hunt monsters, upset the locals, or run a hot bath? Compose an inspiring epic to perhaps, one day, claim immortality.

The game is actually being published by Devolver Digital and made by Nerial, though it does release in partnership with CD Projekt RED.

In a Reigns game, you swipe left or right like you are on Hinge or Tinder, as you draw random opportunities and battles via cards. Your swipes of either left or right dictate how you react and what you do in the moment. Dandelion is retelling Geralt's story in the game, and features familiar characters like Yennefer, Triss, Vesemir, and Roach.

While this spin-off won't be making its way to PS5, there's still The Witcher 4 and a remake of the first game for fans to look forward to. Have you played a Reigns game before? Are you excited by The Witcher's spin on things? Let us know in the comments below.
