Amazon and PlayStation Productions have now cast Atreus in the upcoming TV adaptation of God of War.
The character will be portrayed by Callum Vinson, a young actor best known for his roles in Long Bright River and the Chucky TV series.

The God of War show will cover the story told in the Norse mythology games, where Atreus is the son of Kratos. The pair are forced to work together as they embark on a journey to scatter the ashes of mother and wife, Faye.
This news is the latest in a string of announcements about the ensemble cast. Vinson will star alongside Ryan Hurst as Kratos himself, while many supporting characters now also have names attached.
Here's the full rundown so far:
- Ryan Hurst — Kratos
- Callum Vinson — Atreus
- Alastair Duncan — Mimir
- Danny Woodburn — Brok
- Jeff Gulka — Sindri
- Ólafur Darri Ólafsson — Thor
- Mandy Patinkin — Odin
- Max Parker — Heimdall
- Teresa Palmer — Sif
There are plenty of other characters still to be lined up, including Freya, Baldur, Tyr, Faye, and others.

I know he maybe a bit too old for the role, but I would give it to the kid who plays Spike in 28 years later, he is very good for his age!
Who's playing Cuno?
I hope Ryan Hurst spends ample time practicing various iterations of "Boy!".
I feel like watching Hercules: The Legendary Journey now
Interesting choice, hopefully this turns out alright, Hollywood tends to treat games as a lower form of art and crap all over lore and stories, thinking they know or can do better. Fingers crossed
@SlyASpiE That’s because games that aren’t a lower form of art are few and far between. And those games aren’t the sort that get adapted for popcorn fare.
That leaves just Freya and maybe Faye to cast now.
I dont know the actor but can this boy handle a bow? Looks like he cant tie his shoes.
@Blauwe_Chimay it's ok they're velcro lol
@nessisonett there's plenty of games that could be considered a higher firm of art then many films
@SlyASpiE There’s more films than games in general. The difference is that there are a lot fewer films made solely for financial gain than games. Video games are not at a point where they can be made for solely artistic reasons, whereas there are an awful lot of movies that will probably not make a profit but are made for art’s sake. If a game bombs then the studio is dead more often than not. So the vision is compromised from the beginning in order to make a profit. Besides, there are so many films out there that reason dictates that there are a lot, lot more films that are art than games that are art.
It should have been Tom Holland.
I fail to see why that's a reason for Hollywood to cast away good stories and lore from established IPs, when it's that that's made the IP popular to point Hollywood has decided to "grace" its "wisdom" upon them
@nessisonett id argue that isn't true anymore. Just Google home.many games are being released on a monthly or annual basis on storefronts...yea is there a lot of garbage. But id easily wager more games are being made than films at this point.
Edit- Id also argue that films need to be at least able to break even. Or be so critically acclaimed it gets the now defunct film house employees new jobs- which is very rare
Who knows, maybe he'll crush it. Sic parvis magna, eh?
Casting is definetely spot on and keeps going.
