Assassin's Creed 4 Remake Ubisoft

As far as we know, the Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake exists. It's been leaked about 8,000 times, but Ubisoft still refuses to officially acknowledge it.

The publisher has, however, taken the time to poke fun at the seemingly never-ending rumours — and in the eyes of some fans, this is equivalent to Ubisoft giving everyone a cheeky little wink.

Replying to a post on social media which supposedly shows a leaked collector's edition statue of Black Flag protagonist Edward Kenway, the official Assassin's Creed account simply opts for that classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas screenshot, where CJ's saying "Ah sh*t, here we go again."

As you'd imagine, the post's caused a bit of a disturbance in the Assassin's Creed community, with some now convinced that the remake's announcement is imminent.

But then it's been imminent for what feels like months — and this could just be the Assassin's Creed admin having a laugh. We wouldn't blame them, either; the remake is pretty much the worst kept secret in gaming at this point.

It's also worth noting that there have been concerns over the remake's development these past couple of weeks. That's because Ubisoft cancelled a bunch of projects — including the Prince of Persia remake — as part of a substantial restructuring effort.

However, it's widely believed that the Black Flag revival is one of the projects that's been delayed, rather than binned. So with that in mind, we hope you're ready for another full year of rumour-mongering!
