The most THQ Nordic release in history, a remake of a game you vaguely remember but have no recollection of actually playing, that’s best explained by directly comparing it to a higher budget, better game.
I was playing DW3 and pumped like 40 hours into it before the disc died. Need to transfer the save over to a PC and continue on an emulator because I was enjoying it despite some levels making me want to punch the TV.
I love Digital Eclipse collections but I have to admit that the PS2 Mortal Kombat games were amazing when I played them last year and I massively prefer them to the 2D games. I just found those games far too difficult and hard to get into!
Not really for me, the whole near-future thing is a bit played out personally, the maps just look like every other Battlefield. Honestly want a new Star Wars Battlefront, the surge in popularity made me go back to 2 and it’s really good but a new next-gen game would be fantastic.
Please don’t result in another rank reset. Getting chucked down to lower ranks with a mix of those who should be there and those who got sent down there from higher ranks with me is not fun. You end up with massively unbalanced teams.
@dortek When was the last time you went to London? Or any big city in the UK? That’s exactly what people under 30 look like, especially the sort of people in the estates that this game is set in.
@Brundleflies21 You’d think that Rockstar being from Scotland, it would be a slam dunk to do a game based on the gang violence in Glasgow. It’s gotten a lot worse the last couple years too, with the two big families openly murdering each other. A couple buildings got torched near mine and they still bring up bloody Gerbil getting shot in the local Asda car park. There’s plenty material anyway.
@Mr_Singh The dev video here is very interesting, seems to be a young team with a lot of passion so I reckon it’ll be rough and janky but with proper heart behind it. I love The Getaway’s world building but the actual gameplay is borderline unplayable at times, I’d kill for a remake still set in the same time period because London is just generally a very different place now and this game’s setting is far more realistic than going down the East End gangster Phil Mitchell route. The frustrating thing is that any remake of The Getaway would have to get rid of all the branded shops they mapped out through the satellite scans, I very much doubt they’d be allowed to do up shops looking like defunct companies.
I’ve been wanting something like this for years, there just aren’t enough games set in the UK. It’s rough, but hopefully it’s at least playable when it eventually launches.
Good to know. FIFA creeping up to £70 was irritating, it really should be £50 considering how much they make from MTX. Used to be that the 2K games would launch cheaper back in the PS2 days just to undercut EA but now neither of them have any competition.
Legs aren’t there for MonHun Wilds but it still broke 10 million and has higher sales than DMC V. Sort of crazy how well it must have performed at launch.
That really is mad when you think about it. But honestly Microsoft’s problem isn’t a lack of quality games, especially with them, well, buying devs who make good games. Very happy to get them on PS5 as a consumer, couldn’t care less about anything else.
Sort of mad to see Atari making purchases when they were in the gutter not too long ago. That being said, I’ve really enjoyed their more recent revivals of retro properties and especially Atari 50. Digital Eclipse and Nightdive are two of the best teams out there if you’re a retro fan so they’ve made some shrewd investments.
I feel like any mystery and intrigue in the Horizon world would be undercut if Aloy could just cross the Pacific with zero issues, at that rate you’d be wondering why the world wasn’t as connected as it could be.
Ohhh is this possibly a reworking of that Horizon MMO that was being touted for ages? Is it possible Tencent planted the story to try and strongarm Sony into giving them the license?
@Cosmodean You might have missed the news from this week of the government rolling out AI-based age checks on migrants by scanning their faces. Largely identical to the ones being used here in fact.
@Nakatomi_Uk We’ll see how quickly it comes crashing down when the first blackmail scam rolls out copying the government face scan branding, only to then use the data received to send you messages like “I KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND YOUR PORN HABITS” while using an image of your face and passport. I can guarantee several MPs will be caught out by a scam like that. I’m not so convinced by the cheap shot at migrants however, given that if they’re being housed by the government then they absolutely will have had their faces scanned and processed against multiple databases to check for terror links and such (or controversial political links), if anything they have it worse since they’re not allowed to work and the government have just pressured gig economy employers to snitch on employees they suspect of being migrants that aren’t permitted to work.
Already signed the petition to repeal it. Yet another ‘save the kids’ bill that restricts freedoms, censors LGBTQ+ communities and opens up laughable risks of data leaks by sending 3D scans of your face off to American companies. Kids will very quickly get wise to this, they’ll always find ways of accessing stuff they shouldn’t, the only issue is that the sort of sites they’ll be pushed towards are far more likely to be hosting violent porn or even darker stuff. This is what happens when the average age of those in the Commons is above 50, it doesn’t even bloody work and you can just scan Sam Bridges.
If the potential audience grows then they can price games at a non-extortionate rate. Or they could continue to fleece us then pump the profits into live service gambles.
@Lowdefal This is very true. Also the vitriolic attitudes towards Japanese games in the mid to late 00s from certain games media figures meant that a lot of the big devs went with more Western inspired designs in the PS3 era which sucked all the identity out of big franchises. They’re still a bit lost brand wise and that’s the worst place to be, I think that XIII, XV and XVI were all unfocused in their own way and a sign that Squeenix don’t really know what Final Fantasy is anymore.
I would like to play this game but the fans are so unbelievably irritating that it’s putting me off. It’s possible to like a game without insisting its superiority to other games.
@ShadowRJ There’s a lot of truth in that, unless the game’s maintenance is handled by an external dev team which I’ve seen a few times. You even got sequels in development at the same time as the previous game which resulted in some fairly odd trilogies back in the PS2 days.
Anyone who embraces generative AI is not an artist. They are not creative. They’re actively participating in the widespread fraud and theft of real art to train the new generation of soulless corporate ‘art’ dished out by those in power.
I didn’t play enough of Starfield to fully judge it. I played a few hours and thought it was fairly outdated and not particularly fun but maybe if it came to PlayStation I’d be able to play more and work out if there’s something decent under the jank.
What a stupid statement. Have they played a single Suda game? It’s as if they looked at the stylings of Lollipop Chainsaw and took it at face value. Media made with this level of spite is never good. There’s plenty bad media made in the name of diversity but there’s absolutely zero good media that sets out to do the opposite.
@Stragen8 I’m an Emma main usually and there are several heroes I absolutely hate coming up against. Just stack your team with fliers and she’s useless. To be honest, she’s only ‘overpowered’ if the enemy team doesn’t understand spacing and has zero coordination.
I’d kill for a whole game of Wii Cycling, used to love that on Resort. I honestly miss motion controls (don’t do VR really), games like this just aren’t as interesting with static controls.
This really did take an awful lot of work then, they should be commended for that. Let’s hope that the changes make a better package, not all remakes are better than the originals after all.

It’s a very Wii U gimmick, feel like all it needs is the minigame to be beamed down to your gamepad while you play.
