Capcom Compilation Disney Afternoon Collection Getting Two New Games, But Not on PS4 1

Excellent Capcom retro compilation The Disney Afternoon Collection is getting two new games – but they’ll both be exclusive to Nintendo platforms.

Atari has picked up publishing rights to this release, and is bringing it to both Switch and Switch 2 next month.

But as part of the process, it’s adding two new titles: Goof Troop and Bonkers.

Unfortunately, we’ve confirmed with the publisher that there are no plans to add these titles to the existing PS4 release – and it doesn’t look like an updated PS5 version is on the cards either.

This is particularly disappointing as 1994’s Goof Troop was designed by Shinji Mikami, who’d go on to direct Resident Evil. It’s actually a bit of a Super Nintendo hidden gem, with some great puzzles and chunky, vibrant visuals.

Bonkers we’re less familiar with, but it also released in 1994, and is more of a traditional side-scrolling platformer based on the slapstick cartoon of the same name.

While there are no plans to bring these two titles to PlayStation right now – and we appreciate it’s complicated, considering the change in publisher – we hope Capcom, Disney, and Atari can find a solution in the future.

There must be more than one Bonkers game, because the only one I remember playing on the Genesis wasn’t a sidescroller. It was a collection of different mini games, some puzzle related others action oriented. I don’t know enough about this collection to know which Bonkers game this is, but it would be nice to revisit for nostalgia’s sake.

I mean, I get it, given the licensing involved, and the fact it took 9 years to get this collection on a Nintendo platform is probably the more insane story.

Huh not familiar with Goof Troop, I’ll have to check it out. I recently played a translation of his game Sweet Home on NES and oh my gosh what an absolute banger of a game and way in line with the DNA of RE, it’s basically a top down RE, incredible stuff.

I mean, it's easier to emulate them instead of getting a Switch, but i don't even care about playing these old games at this point, so this exclusivity is pretty much irrelevant to me

I've always loved that Goof Troop game ever since I was a kid. Sucks about its "exclusivity" but thankfully there are other ways to play it.

I have the PS4 version but didn't play it greatly, felt like had a fair bit of input lag. Never heard of these games but they look like nice additions.

I know Goof troop was only on the SNES but there’s been plenty of SNES games from collections released on PS.
The two duck tales games were Nintendo games but release on the PS via the Disney afternoon collection.
Guess PS players will have have to miss out on the new games being added
