Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 616

After beating Quantum Break and Pokemon Legends Z-A this week it’s back to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. I’ve also been playing through Mega Man X and decided to finally give Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 a go after not playing Fortnite for a month now.

Besides those I’m debating on finally starting Metal Gear Solid 2.

Happy new year for everyone at NintendoLife, PureXbox, PushSquare and TimeExtension!

May GTA VI finally release! May Pragmata be an amazing new IP! May Ace Attorney 7 finally be announced! May we get some amazing first party games from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony! And most of all, may we see little to none layoffs and may the AI bubble burst!

@nhSnork XBC3 uses procedural generation which companies lump in with Gen AI these days but it isn’t Gen AI. Everything involved is still fully done by humans, they just make a code that puts those human made assets in a random sequence or order.

Minecraft uses the same tech and gen AI didn’t even exist in 2009.

Re: Fortnite's New Sidekicks Are Cute, But Fans Aren't Happy About the High Cost

@Enigk Fortnite is generally known as the cheapest and most consumer friendly live service game due to how bundles work, how the game makes completing passes so easy and how the game showers you with Vbucks and free cosmetics and skins all the time.

Despite all that, yes, FN is still quite expensive

These pets/sidekicks are getting pushback because they’re as expensive as skins but have to be rebought every time you want to change their style. Something no other cosmetic in game has with the exception of a single 6 year old skin which is probably the most hated cosmetic in game to the point epic never tried it again until now.

Re: Fortnite's Long Anticipated The Simpsons Mini-Season Could Be One of Its Best

I’m excited for it personally but the expectations is that it’s gonna do numbers to the playerbase in a bad way. Ever since mini season 1 (Star Wars) the concurrent players has been dwindling and it’s been below 1 million for a month now which has never happened before.

Mind you 900k concurrent players is still insane for an 8 year old game and the daily unique players is still in the 10 million since its not the same people being logged in 24/7 obviously so the game is still healthy.

@LifeGirl sorry for the second @
IIRC they also sued games over using a frying pan as a melee weapon because they argued PUBG’s “iconic” frying pan default melee weapon was too closely associated with their brand.

And they sued a game over using “winner winner chicken dinner” for similar reasons
