A new selection of 12 PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium games has gone live today, but as usual, this also means the service's Last Chance to Play section has been refreshed with the next set of departures.
Eight games will be removed from PS Plus Extra on Tuesday, 16th September 2025. Once they depart, you won't be able to play them anymore, even if you've redeemed them or got them downloaded. The eight games leaving next month are:
- UFC 5 (PS5)
- The Plucky Squire (PS5)
- Night in the Woods (PS5, PS4)
- Road 96 (PS5, PS4)
- Pistol Whip (PSVR2)
- Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir (PS4)
- F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch (PS5, PS4)
- Dragon's Crown Pro (PS4)

The vast majority of the list represents high-quality games, so if any of them are in your backlog, we suggest you move them to the front of your queue. Of particular note is F.I.S.T., which is a fantastic Metroidvania title out of the China Hero Project from Sony. Dragon's Crown Pro and Odin Sphere are both very good too, but are on the longer side. You will need to start playing soon if you want to roll credits on them.
Do you intend to play any of these PS5, PS4 games before they leave PS Plus Extra next month? Get a move on in the comments below.

Looks like the psvr2 push is pretty much completely over. Don't think they have too many games left on premium
Time to finish F.I.S.T., I guess.
Damn 4 games I installed last month to play soon.
Guess I’ll be looking for the physicals again.
UFC is a shame.
Plucky Squire is a great little game.
@Americansamurai1 The great VR revolution will never ever happen until they can shrink a pair of VR goggles into something the size of Geordi LaForge's visor.
The majority of people just do not want this huge thing on their head that gives them headaches.
Luckily I got the plat in F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch a few weeks ago. Very good, challenging game. I always wanted to play Odin Sphere, but I can wait for a later chance.
Had F.I.S.T installed for a while now, time to get around to it. Might have to put hogwarts legacy on hold to do so.
Same with Plucky squire, I held off originally on that because I heard the trophies were bugged, will check whether they have been fixed and might get around to that too.
Busier than usual month for me, I've usually done whatever I've been interested in.
@LifeGirl I have a bad neck so it's definitely a no go for me.
I would say I should give pistol whip a go but it’s still to warm for VR
Thanks for the heads up. Been playing Plucky Squire on psportal for a while and I think I'll try to beat it before it leaves the service. An absolute gem!!!
@Fartingale one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Especially the level with no guns.
Looks like Odin sphere will never make it off of the backlog, started Unicorn Overlord this morning
Play Odin Sphere before it goes. Incredible game.
I thankfully bought Dragon's Crown for super cheap many years ago but still gotta finish it. Oden Sphere I tried on PS Plus but I do want to get a physical of because I did really enjoy it.
Great article. I didn't really register that the following three were part of the subscription or have them on my radar before:
but the games scored well here on press circle, so maybe I should at least start them up and see where it takes me.
I predicted Plucky Squire was going to be leaving and just finished it a week or so ago Fun game.
Please bring back Horizon forbidden west, I was loving that game and then it was removed
I know the second If I bought it they would bring it back so I'm waiting and praying
Just to add to my first comment, I already started
The Plucky Squire and tried to let my three-year-old daughter play/watch. The game can be 'read-aloud' as a book, so if I only scratch the surface of this game, it is still memorable and reminds me of some of the adventure books we read together. If you like Nintendo-games and/or kid games then this is a must-try.
Road 96 is vibing well with me. If you have said the phrase 'that's cringe' in the past year then you will be too immature to enjoy the writing of this game. If you are a graphics aficionado you might write off the game, but I feel this might be a fun and short journey (After 30 minutes the game shows me having travelled half the distance, but it might be misdirecting me).
Odin Sphere real gud.
Downloaded Plucky Squire for months. Never played it. Guess it's time I give it a go.
Definetely recommend FIST. It's a great metroidvania. I loved it!
They're removing PSVR2 games much faster than they're adding any - despite a ton of PSVR2 games coming out this summer. They had a nice PSVR2 collection, including some for only the Premium tier, but they're all dropping off.
This month it's Pistol Whip leaving, with nothing joining to replace it, AFAIK.
